Watching you is honestly like watching a furniture making Bob Ross lol. I love how approachable you and your sister seem, I feel like y’all would be my favorite aunts to gossip with, or neighbors I’d come over and share a coffee with. So wish y’all had live classes opportunities! You ladies would make a fortune!!
It looks lovely. The box tip is great 👌. I have some bowls with a very similar design on them-they have a beautiful blue print on a white background and I love them as they were my Grandad’s 🥰 x
I think this would have to be my absolute favourite IOD video tutorial. I love how the terracotta pot turned out after you painted it and applied the gorgeous rose stamp in blue. It looks just like a real piece of Staffordshire pottery but better! It reminds me of the French Provencal look as well, which is probably because of the blue and white colour of the pot. I definitely have to try painting and stamping a pot like this one. And I love the way you used a cardboard box to stand the pot in so it couldn't roll around on your work surface. Love from Amanda in Melbourne, Australia ❤
@@IronOrchidDesigns I will definitely try to buy that gorgeous rose stamp you used in this video tutorial. Luckily, there are quite a few stores here in Australia that stock your lovely products. Actually I have a question for you about the Pots set of 4 Transfers: there's one page of white transfers and I can't work out how to apply them because they're invisible against the white backing paper that's there to protect them from dust and dirt. Could you give me some advice on how to cut them out without accidentally cutting through the transfer itself?? Thank you so much. Love from Amanda
Oh I'm so glad to hear that you have a good amount of shops with IOD near you🙌 As for the white transfers, unfortunately I probably don't have the best advice, but I would maybe try to put it under a bright light and just be very careful and look closely as you cut it out. I'm sorry that one is hard! @@amandajones6481
I was so excited to try this a few months ago & it turned out just awful. Not sure what went wrong. Maybe I needed a bigger container or the base paint wasn't right, who knows! I even used the same paints she did. Gonna wait until the Spring/Summer to try again, bc I just love the look. Would appreciate any tips! TIA
Hello lovely lady🙋I'm doing a gallon jar right now with your stamp whoop whoop 🤣 I love it. Now I'm going to do a tote in a sec. Now I'm wondering if you have a stamp holder to hang onto? I should say a handle that holds the stamp.💕❤️💖🥰🙏
I absolutley adore this pot..thanks so much for sharing...I intend on doing too so i will have to buy your products too..thanks again have a blessed day and keep ideas coming...love ya girls...vickie maddox
I totally love this tutorial! The pot is absolutely gorgeous and I can’t wait to try this project on a large pot I have. Josie, wondering if you don’t seal it and you put it outside, won’t the chalk paint run when it gets wet?
I bought the stamps and made this pot, I absolutely adore it! Thank you for inspirations. This set of stamps is simply exquisite. I am now trying to stamp the outside of my large fiberglass bathtub, but having trouble getting the details from the stamps. If you could offer any advise?
Wow totally loved this!!!! Thank you for sharing! There's nothing like learning something new everyday. I don't even know how I stumbled on to your video but so glad I did! I do wonder if it gets Alot of rain on it and you don't seal it will it run to the point where you lose its charm? Not having used chalk paint before its made me curious. Muriel
OMG drop dead gorgeous I am buying this stencil and anything else you have unbelievable what talent thank you so much for sharing you're awesome creativeness with us
I thought it looked great without sanding and no moss. Its too much for me. Some detail is nice. But still you did a great job... I've learning something new today...... thank you !!!!
Thanks IOD for this project. I would like to seal so I could put it outside. in your experience, what would be the best sealant for this project. thank you
Hi Mary! We recommend using an outdoor clear sealer to seal the paint on the pot. We suggest talking with your stockist or seeing if someone in the IOD Creative Tribe on Facebook has a particular recommendation they've used ❤️ facebook.com/groups/IODcreativetribe If you're not already a part of the tribe, it’s a closed group but members are approved with very little wait time! 😊
Yes you can use clear wax on the piece if it stays indoors. If you plan to use it outdoors, we'd recommend an outdoor sealant. Choose one with UV protection to protect your color too.💕
Merci beaucoup! Your local stockist will be able to recommend a sealer to finish the flower pots. We have a few in France: ironorchiddesigns.com/find-a-retailer/
Thanks Isabelle! We use all different brands of mineral type chalk type paint - and we often mix our colors. 😄 Sorry we don't have anything more specific! Your lovely IOD stockist would have a perfect suggestion 😊
Yes. :) Seal with a high-quality water-based poly after letting the planter dry fully. Then make sure to follow the curing time for your sealer (on the package instructions) before planting. Happy making!
Josie , i LoVeLoVE LOVE LOVE this tutorial 😍😍😍😍❤️ i have ordre a Lot of IOD and love IT All, didn't have this stamp , But it's on the Way (did ordre IT ) Is there some New things in the Way, my IOD "pusher" has some New names But No pictures 😎😎😍😉 can't wait. Hi Theresa! What type of furniture are you wanting to stamp on? There are many different ways that will work. It really depends on your personal preference on how you want it to look and what material you are applying to😊
beautiful however, i would have skipped the sanding i think an old glazed ceramic pot looked better then knowing there was terracotta underneath personal preference

What could I use to seal it, if I felt like I needed to? KY rain is no joke sometimes and I worry the chalk paint would run too much. Any tips?

could one also use the crackle stamp with this? And how (well) would weather on my deck? Thank you!
Beautiful work. I think you meant 'allude' (to being roses) as 'elude' means to escape or avoid.
enchanting!!!!

Do you seal it with a clear coat afterward, so it doesn’t run when you water your plant?

Hi Theresa! What type of furniture are you wanting to stamp on? There are many different ways that will work. It really depends on your personal preference on how you want it to look and what material you are applying to😊
Just wow
❤❤❤
Do you seal it to be used outside or is it for inside only?
You can use it outside with sealer, although it will age a bit more over time - but we think that will add to the beauty. :)

Is the olive green an Annie Sloan paint?
We tend to mix our paints and use chalk paints from various brands. So sorry to not know this answer! ❤️
Josie, will the colors run if this pot is in the rain? or should I seal it? I live in the Pacific Northwest-lots of rain!
Yes, seal it. ;)

cute but i would leave out the moss color. thx
I just did mine, have not done the "moss" yet and trust me, the moss makes it! Otherwise it looks too new and stark with out character
Beautiful! BUT, the music could make me scream...
convex, not compound
O don't care for the technique. Just looks messy.
