I honest to GOD Love you Sisters. This is exactly the same way my dear Sister & I used to be, even with the creativity (with YOUR products!) my heart will forever be broken. Thank you so much girls for bringing back so many precious memories of my Sister & I. God bless you both always. ❤️👏🙏🙌
I live in Italy and all of my pots are terracotta. Big. Expensive. But from now it's going to be painted plastic. I've actually been collecting moss and lichen for my spring projects, Martha Stewart has a great tip for getting moss on your pots. She covers the pot with yogurt or milk and moss grow.
So funny...I had purchased 6 plastic pots with similar plans with my IOD moulds!!!! Its rainy and snowy this week, so Im gonna get them ready for the weekend so I can plant in the sunny sun!
If I’m having a bad day I love to bring up your videos and it makes me smile and think about the wonderful things that you can do with IOD molds Keep it up girls yes
I came here from Debi's Design Diary and cannot seem to leave. Together ya'll have inspired me to dream again. To dream of the boutique I wanted to design and own and love working in everyday. You don't just give inspiration. You give hope. Thank you.
I must have about 8 of those pots in the back yard ready for me to fill them. But your right. They are ugly. Have a great start of an array of your moulds. I love them and can’t get enough! I did my first 3 clay pots with everything from key holes to mermaids and used them as baskets filled with candy for Easter to my daughters. They turned out beautiful! I also used your French Bakery big transfer on my doors in my kitchen. I’m so happy I have a store that sells your products 5 blocks away! Thanks for all the inspiration!
i dont mean to be so offtopic but does any of you know a way to log back into an instagram account?? I somehow lost my login password. I appreciate any help you can give me.
@Kylan Frank Thanks for your reply. I found the site through google and im trying it out atm. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
Oh what a lovely French Planter...it looks so real!!! Love it...now I have to do one for my window only a narrow one with herbs for my summer cooking pleasure...Yep gonna do it next week, as this week is too full already with IOD mould goodies..♥ :-) The end of the video was so funny I was crackin up....lol
i've heard so much about you two gals from watching JamiRayvintage that I stopped by. Ok i am going to try this out. i love anything old and French thanks Nanette
Love you guys. I have three sisters and it's so wonderful to have someone in your life that you can completely be yourself with... and they 'get' you. The planter is awesome and would like to make a few for my gardens. Can these be made to withstand the elements? Do you have a recommendation for an outdoor sealer?
Still can’t find your paint color recipie and have everything ready to try this. Experimented w/ brown, orange and barn red. Nothing looks as pretty as yours. Could you please re publish L thanks and can’t wait !,, Also, noticed you had all of your trim moulds pre cut and ready. My dry out so fast. About how much “ working time” do you have on those pre molded pieces ?
So I go to the only online store near me and she has no clay. Molds won’t work without it. Now I’m SOL...bummer. Love the faux pot...and I love to paint things so this is perfect.
It's actually good to paint it before it's dry because it slows the dry time which then reduces cracking. With that said, we used a softer bristle brush to be sure not to ruin the design. The other brush was too firm and could have flattened the design a little bit, we just needed to be more gentle is all🤗❤️
I just found your channel. This is beautiful ! I’m wondering if this same procedure can also be used on clay pots for outside ? Thank you. I will be watching your talent from now on !
Help! I'm forever having issues getting my clay design out of the mold w/o it breaking apart somehow. Using cornstarch, not a lot, but I can't get it to work! Would appreciate any help! TIA
My clay, that I bought at MIX Gallery, is not really pliable or soft at all . Doesn’t go into the mounds nicely and I can’t get a smooth back on the mould
Why didn't you seal the plastic first? I've not had good results painting on plastic even when spraying a base coat made especially for plastic. Love the look but concerned it will peel off.
Maranatha the surface wasn’t that slick, and this type of paint ( mineral based ) really adheres. That combined with the fact that it was an inexpensive planter and a small project I didn’t want to invest a ton of time into I decided against a base coat or sealer :) so far it’s holding up really well! It’s behind my kitchen sink and I looooove it!!
Faith it depends on where you live, I’m in Northern California and my potted plants are on a covered porch. But I once had a pot with paper clay mould kings that did hold up in the weather. I would test it and see :) seal it well first with a clear sealer that is good for out doors. Someone recently told me they used Modge Podge outdoor sealer for their trailer and it held up! I’ve not used it myself, so I can’t say for sure, but there are a lot of good sealers. I’m putting this inside so I’m not sealing it.
I'm not sure what you mean Bobby, but it sounds like you're being unkind. My sister is passionate about the making process and wants to be sure people understand. She's not taking over and I'm happy to give her a platform whenever she wants it because she's brilliant and knows more about creating than I do in most circumstances. I'm literally also learning sometimes as I watch her. So, if she's talking instead of me, be thankful for that. If you say anything unkind about my sister again you will be blocked from our channel. I hope you're just having a bad day, because we sincerely value you and hope you stay.
@@IronOrchidDesigns No not having a bad day at all, was watching the lovely blonde lady about to create her window box, untill the sister took over, was telling the truth.I will unsub.
This looks pretty awful, I have to say. It doesn’t look like an old pot at all... it’s a hot mess. Would love to see a video with the blonde lady on her own, so she’s not being overpowered, talked over and have things ripped out of her hands. She probably has awesome ideas and a much better screen presence.
They are sisters and they play off of each other..I understand your feelings but they seem to truly adore one another..This idea may not suit your taste but they have a lot of other wonderful, creative ideas you'd probably love.
Well, I heartily take exception to this unfortunate comment. The world needs more love and laughter and less gratuitous criticism. I hope the commenter was just having a bad day. And doesn't teach children.
I’d say maybe this just isn’t your thing. I love the way they pick at each other, and having just lost my own sister, I’m more than happy to see other sisters having fun and making things together. Geez Camille, lighten up.
I actually completely agree. The project looks like someone tried to start it and then gave up. As far as rudeness and teaching children, maybe they just shouldn't watch this video because there was quite a bit of rudeness going on!
I must have about 8 of those pots in the back yard ready for me to fill them. But your right. They are ugly. Have a great start of an array of your moulds. I love them and can’t get enough! I miss my sister. Shared humor of a lifetime is the best. And. Yes! Nice Planter
The world of plastic pots is about to be transformed...so gorgeous!

Love anything that looks vaguely French - looking forward to trying this. Thank you for the inspiration! Kind regards from Penny in Liverpool 🇬🇧😊💕

@Emanuel Aydin you are welcome xD
How does this hold up if your pot is outside? Love this a lot!
Oh I love this! I have the same planter box - can’t wait to make it all European looking! You ladies are brilliant n oh so funny! ❤️

YOU ARE BOTH “ .... SO RIGHT ....”. Love this look!
Thank you... Thank you for this tutorial 👍❤️👍❤️👍❤️
Can't you just wait for the clay to dry before painting?

That’s the best air dry clay I have used! Love it
Thanks so much for trying it, Debi. ❤️

This was awesome!
Thank you for sharing hunnies! xoxo
So glad you enjoyed! ❤️
Just beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
What type of organizing system do you use for the decor stamps? How can I store them so they stay in good shape?
Katrina Watson would like to know too
I can’t find a place to order this Queen Bee set. I love this and must have it!
2021 I can't either?
Just beautiful!
How much dry time does the air dry clay need before or after gluing?
What is a "chip brush"?
It's actually good to paint it before it's dry because it slows the dry time which then reduces cracking. With that said, we used a softer bristle brush to be sure not to ruin the design. The other brush was too firm and could have flattened the design a little bit, we just needed to be more gentle is all🤗❤️
Lovely,Gorgeous!!! Congrats!!
I'm gonna try with a project like yours... Saludos desde México!!!!
Another GREAT project!
I just found your channel. This is beautiful ! I’m wondering if this same procedure can also be used on clay pots for outside ? Thank you. I will be watching your talent from now on !
Sherry Allen Blankenbeker yes! I would put a coat of sealer on top for outside :)
What do you seal it with? Can you use it outside?
So fun to watch you work on projects. I love this idea. This can only use inside correct?
Hi Lorraine! If you use a good sealer, it should hold up pretty well outside as well🤗
Thank you girls I love this look, where can I buy these decorative moulds, this is just what I’m looking for ? I’m watching from Australia ? 🇦🇺
Hi Wendy! You can find a stockist near you using our retailer locator. I'll link that for you here🤗 ironorchiddesigns.com/pages/retailers
Thank you heaps, I can’t wait to try this 😊
Did u seal planters?
I love chalk paint ❤
Didnt kno if I could use on outside planter.
Cassandra Davis for outdoor use I would put a coat of sealer on it :) but absolutely you can use this technique for outdoor planters!
Help! I'm forever having issues getting my clay design out of the mold w/o it breaking apart somehow. Using cornstarch, not a lot, but I can't get it to work! Would appreciate any help! TIA

love that WOW
What type of rag are you using???
Hi Tatiana! Any damp rag will work great😊
I know you said to use glue that works outside..but how does air dry clay hold up outside..isn't it paper based?
Faith it depends on where you live, I’m in Northern California and my potted plants are on a covered porch. But I once had a pot with paper clay mould kings that did hold up in the weather. I can’t believe how you changed a plastic pot
Yes! So glad you enjoyed the video and this project! 😄
❤
I love it
Love the project idea... not so sure about the screen presence. Guess I will stick to reading a blog.

The brunette is very bossy. She is rude to the blonde. Not nice. She needs to back off
LOL that's just how we are to each other! Sisters and best friends💓
Agree!!!
Are you serious.? By the time you buy all those supplies, and I know they are expensive, you could’ve bought your French planter lol
Perhaps but then you have the supplies to use on other projects. :)
And the brunette takes over.
