@@Prometheus_Williams yes using that half would be an excellent start to! You don’t have to follow the themed examples to the letter. Just using the leviathan stuff will give a great army for dark angels as the sternguard, captain, libarian, terminators, dreadnought are all deathwing!

Great vid, I might suggest swapping out that combat patrol in the first example for the 40k starter set that's 60 quid - it's got all of those except for the librarian termie, and you could sell the Tyranid half to buy more termies or hellblasters with the profit

I’m looking forward to putting the new dark angels box with the space marine combat patrol I’m working on, and then I’ll pick up the companions when I’m done with these, I’ll double my blade gaurd and put my redemptor in there as well, I figure at some point the land raider will be back on sale in the U.S. and I’ll pick one up. This would just be a fun and thematic army. Great quick breakdown vid

Oh yeah it’s Dark Angels time!
Can you take up to six ATVs if you think about it, they are technically not the same when attached to three outrider squads. That maxes you out for the rule of three for outrider squads with one ATV as part of the unit..
Then you could take 2 to 3 regular ATVs with their standard data sheet for the outrider escort ability so they can fire back, whenever a friendly unit is attacked within their aura.
I would take the Melta option for the ATVs that are inside the outrider squads, and then I would use the assault Cannon for the ATVs that will be driving solo for the benefit of their retaliating salt can shots, which have a longer ranged attack with six shots that can produce devastating wounds on a critical wound, and they still have twin linked bolters.
For the outrider squad, I would probably throw in a bike on Chaplin since there’s a lot of twin linked guns that have to be used within 12 inches of the unit that was targeted for the chaplains devastating wound ability to work on the entire unit. Incense everything has twin linked you have a higher chance of triggering devastating wounds as long as your firing at the target 12 inches and if it happens to be your oath of moment unit you get to reroll as well. The ATVs inside the outrider squads being led by a chaplain don’t have twin linked on their main gun. However, if they can get within 9 inches, this will activate their Melta2 ability, allowing any critical wounds to deal a D6 +2 devastating wounds.
I would save the Ravenwing command squad to lead black knights, and possibly have Samuel also lead a second unit of black Knight both of them had a unit size of six (I find a unit of nine might be very cumbersome and may end up messing you up with coherency depending on how tight the terrain is.
Also, I recently heard that any characters in a unit of Black Knight, also benefit from the anti-vehicle, and anti-monster abilities from the black Knight, whenever they charge.
I think a dark shroud is almost an auto take after the Nerfed the land speeder vengeance no longer deals three damage on its plasma cannons.
I am curious about certain flyers, such as the Thunderhawk interceptor, and the storm speeders, which can be a really hard decision to make considering the thunder strike, seems to have the most damage output, and the range on most of its attacks have a longer range compared to the other two, however it’s special ability to add plus one to the wound roll if you hit a target that has the vehicle or monster, keyword is more situational compared to the other two storm speeders, which require you to get up close and have less damage output however, one of them grants friendly units minus one AP to that unit, and the other removes cover saves for the rest of the phase, which seems to be pretty easy to obtain.
So the max ATVs I think used to be 12. I’m pretty sure they removed the solo ones being able to take 3 per unit I’d have to check as I’ve not run them this edition.
Everything you’ve mentioned both works and is a great idea. I’m just avoiding ravenwing as I don’t want to buy the old models for games workshop to replace them a few years down the line. I would however still run ravenwing with generic models.
Also correct on black knights ability transferring to characters!
Local shops in UK , maybe some in US could , potentialy be allowed to order the deathwing box. And kudos to the people living in those two places . But eveyrwhere else, the further from UK (but not really that far) stores, online or not where not allowed to do it. Heck for thevlast year or so , outside for the new sm and tyranid combat patrol, it is really hard to get any new or old GW product.
There will be a few in the states to there’s always some. I do agree there will certainly be a higher chance in the uk!

I may have gone over board. I didnt read the rules first. I think i have a 10,000 point army.
To start The first, i’d probably start with Azreal and some hellblasters cause they fit really well, i’d get a squad of terminators not the knights they are kinda shit right now, i’d go with with some black knights, and a raven wing command squad, its very sweet… lastly get a few squads of outriders or whatever the bikers are called… and 2xstorm speeder thunderstrikes they are good in racenwint formation and thats what you need to get…
It’s certainly a solid choice depending on what you want. I personally don’t want to touch first born models so will bide my time.
As a list that takes All comers and draws from all wings I’d say it’s spot on! Of course we approached the list building from a thematic perspective, it’s not top tier by any means but should still be fun

@@narrativecrusades707 I've looked at that, best I can figure is run an apothecary with each unit including azreals, in gladius, one with fire discipline assigned to one that's not azreals. So you get two full units with sustained 1 and the third just does whatever really.
@@Brumuder apocs would be my go to as well, lieutenants can give a small buff for a cheap point investment. Captain with ROB to give the whole unit ignores cover assault and heavy in grim task force could work to potentially
@@narrativecrusades707 yeah I could see Captains used to spread free stragems around, and they can run with the apoths included. I think they would be the last addition though depending on how you build the list as the hellblasters are taking up a good chunk

HELP PLEASE !!! What units can Azrael lead? I keep seeing tons of different things for it, even on the Dark Angels Reddit forum I can't get a straight answer. I want to put him with Company Heroes, the Jan 30/24 FAQ errata says you can, but I see an Auspex Tactics vid saying you can't. It's going to directly affect what I do with my Company Heroes models, whether I use some as Sternguard and Bladeguard via kitbash or keep it intact.
I always go off his unit card, that tells you exactly what he can lead. I’ve heard he can’t lead company Hero’s but go off whatever the most recent data slate has said.
Rules do always change so if you like the Heros keep them as they are!

What rule allows the hellblasters to get back up and shoot again after they are killed? Is that a strategem? I been looking at the codex, and the new supplement and I cant find it anywhere.
It’s on their standard data sheet. 4+ on death they can shoot again, it’s not unique to dark angels, just synergies amazingly
@@narrativecrusades707 Ah I see it now thanks! Looks like the hellblaster data card that comes in the deathwing assault box omits this ability, but at the top it says: combat patrol data card. So I guess combat patrol has significantly more different rules than I initially thought.

Unless you’re a frequent tournament goer with the goal of finishing on top tables it’s a solid set that will be pretty dam enjoyable and I couldn’t recommend enough.
We have far too many names and people in the community writing off amazing models because some numbers on a bit of paper aren’t high enough!
Much like the sisters I imagine they might surprise us yet!
Abit confused on the running them as core space marine detachment to allow infiltrate, can someone explain it to me like I'm 5 yrs old so I can make a mate bleed later today 😆
There’s a standard detachment in the space marine codex which if you use it there’s options to give a character and their unit infiltrate + the whole detachment gains -1 to be hit.
It’s pretty mean!
@@narrativecrusades707 i had interpreted it as THE core space marine detachment and looked at gladius task force, just seen my mistake after re reading, it's the vanguard spearhead detachment. I ran as inner circle yesterday and my god did he have a hard time getting through the termis armour, we never finished the game. It ended a draw VP wise but I had the most kills by far 😅

I cant fucking believe another dude thinks knights are or were ever 290 points lol. Tau new codex can give their unit a -1 dmg with a 4up invuln 😂 im a dark angels player but its all but dead unless we get points drops.

Top tables at tournaments the attitude of an army being dead needs to stop, 40k is not an esport it’s a hobby where love for the models and hobby is more important than a temporary rule set.
I’ve run the knights they are still solid at taking out chaff and holding a point.
We all know there are better or more efficient choices but they are brilliant models!
Of course if you are a tournament player I can see why you would have that opinion, rules are temporary!
Heres the thing, you dont! Unless you want to play a bad faction for the next 2 years. The new codex is awful.
I have to disagree, we had the same uproar with the sisters of battle who have won super majors and a few other tournaments. Dark angels have plenty going for them but have become more “rock paper scissors” a unit has a clear job it’s designed to do.
Do you frequently attend tournaments with a goal of placing as high as possible? If so I can see why you would give them a miss. The majority of 40k players are going to have a good time with the faction.
There is a lot of negative discourse online surrounding 40k. For us remaining positive and enjoying the game puts us in a better mindset to enjoy the hobby!

@@narrativecrusades707 Its a terrible feeling when the codex releases and near to nothing on the datasheets is interesting or fun looking, and nearly everything got an insane splatter of random nerfs. The detachments look fine, and I will trying running em but honestly i do not feel happy when everything being ran with those detachments is weaker or exactly the same. Belial and Asmodai needed reworks and instead Belial didnt get touched, and Asmodai barely changed.
Even when you aren't a tournament player, and you are trying to play within rules with your friends its rough.
-Lion having a D1 Sweep when Guilliman, C'tan, Avatar, and Angron all have D2 sweeps.
-Seeing Strikemaster, Command squad with all its guys and the Talon master removed from play is annoying and some people will have to convince their friends to be able to run legends.
-Having the DW terminators lose their ability to run better melee and Storm shields.
-Seeing Lion lose another thing that made him tanky with his -1 to wound for no reason, he was already a little over priced and then they go ahead and nerf him? and they didnt change the FNP against mortals to include Dev wounds. The only way Lion will be 'good' is if they nerfed his points to sub 300 at this point.
-And don't get me started on the nerf to Knights which the damage is whatever I will get over it. The points they posted was absurd even if its temporary they showed they obviously didnt put care into the datasheets if thats what they came up with.
