My daddy was a coal miner ever since he was 18 yrs old, he got his pelvis crushed in 1982 an then in 1990 a boater rim was bein aired up and frm 75ft away it hit him in the forehead... we thought he was a gonner an by the grace of God he survived... Hes still with us today... THANK YOU SOOO MUCH FOR THIS SONG!!! I would love to hav the ringtone to this song!!!! Congrates... Hope u win it all! Thank you for servin our country.....
I am a Coal Miners daughter and a Coal Miners wife and my two sons are Coal Miners. I do know what they go through and they are proud to be Coal Miners. They are proud to know they help keep this Country’s energy up and running. What would this Country be like without coal? This is something to think about. I do love this song.....Tells it all.
My cousin is a Coal Miner in Texas, and this song is very touching. My brother is also going into the Marine Corps. I really appricaite the song Great Job.
I saw this guy sing this song for the first time last night on Americas Got Talent on TV here in Ireland. I was blown away by his voice. I sincerely hope this guy makes a career in music. Beautiful song.
A wonderful song of the" American spirit".Great voice. And even better story.GOD BLESS AMERICA. Not ofen is their a double-talent of song writing and a beautiful voice.I hope to hear from him on a great album professionally.
Was watching a rerun of AGT today with my kids and saw this. I had to leave the room because it brought tears to my eyes. My granddaddy died in the coal mines in Harlan county. What an awesome voice you have and what a great representation of KY this guy is. I hope he goes far
I would love to own a studio recording of this song. Even if you don't win AGT I would be shocked if you don't become a star with a good ole country voice like that.
his voice will send chills right down your spine. that"s real country not that pop/country out there now days. the fact he is a solder is just a bonus. if he don't win AMG. some record comp would be dumb not to jump on him!!!
this is austin thomas on my sisters account the 2 favorite parts i like i coal keeps the lights on and the other one is the hih schol halls of teh mountain lions and the bell county bobcats up on the hill
Saw Jimmy on AGT and really enjoyed it! Hope he does well! I see his brother is singing with him here - can he add harmony instead of carrying the melody as well?
Can someone explain to me who the mountain lions are and the bobcats? I understand that they're both high school teams but does a small town like that really have two high schools? Not trying to criticize I was just wondering, Love this song and love Jimmy Rose, best of luck in AGT!
I am a unit operator at a coal fired power plant. so coal keeps food on my table too. We beat all other forms of power in cost per megawatt including wind power with their subsidies, so suck it EPA and Obama!
someone needs to tell dude on the left that he is NOT singing backup by mimicking the melody poorly and sporadically. still a great song. go for it Jimmy
Yes, this is truth, but knowing this nation, hemp was accepted at our founding and it received the major boot when government decided to jail everyone selling weed. Hemp was booted too....as you know. While I can buy some hemp seed here and few other items, the government is not user friendly to hemp which turns over heartily, quickly, as you know. The removal of marijuana was racially motivated too, if one digs deeply enough.
I would have to disagree. With a voice like that, Nashville wouldn't accept him. They only sign "singers" who can't sing. You have to sound horrible to make it in Nashville these days. It's a shame because Jimmy does have a great voice. It just makes me sick the horrible "music" that Nashville has been coming out with lately. If you can even call it "music"
