Every time I hear him play it, it sounds even better. This song should be #1 on the charts!...I hope it wasn't disrespectful trying to play it for my aunt.
Awesome music. I work at a coal fired plant and they are trying to shut it down they don’t realize what they are doing this country coal keeps the lights on amen brother.
As a railroader that hauls coal, this song really hits home.... Hope you come to Richmond Va sometime soon... My wife and I will be there to see you... I will bring as many of my railroad brothers that I can... Your song is amazing Jimmy!!!!!!!!!!
I'm from Beattyville, and this song touches a place deep inside. While not being from a mining family, my family is full of truck drivers who have hauled coal for years. Coal is our lifeline and it's hard life. This song encapsulates that so well and what exactly coal means to our communities. Thank you for sharing this video.
i listen to this song very frequiently ( how ever you spell it ) my grandfather went into the coal mines in 8th grade to support his family (him , his mom and dad, and 3 brothers and a sister) now hes paying for it. every time i hear this i cry... thank you jimmy rose if something good dont come of this then there stupid.. you are AMAZING!!!!
awesome song... i'm a miner and have been for 15 years. and to be honest I shed a tear just about every time at the line about the sundress on my baby girl. I have 3 baby girls and they are the reason I mine that old coal 6 days a week. if this isn't jimmy tell him I said well done and thanks for the song and his service in the military.
hey jimmy i don;t really care for today's country music. i prefer the classic's like waylon, hank, willy, emmy lou, but with that said, i think YOU are a amazing country singer songwriter, i hope you find the success you deserve, this song is excellent.
As a former Potash Miner in New Mexico I must say many will never appreciate the hell us Miners go through to produce a product that affects their everyday lives..... I now work at a Power Plant and have an appreciation for what it takes for the many tons of coal used daily to produce another daily necessity, electricity. This song you wrote touches home to me in many ways... I feel privileged, one for your service to our Country and secondly to have heard this heart felt song...
I am from Dayton Ohio and I have been through Pineville more times than I can count on my way to Johnson City Tennessee. I have to say that Pineville is one of the most beautiful and wonderful places that I have ever visited. The people there are so friendly it is truly an experience to be had. Keep up the good work your sound is amazing and inspiring.
Every time I here this jam reminds me of a good strum with my brother that lives on other side of the globe serving with Canadian forces .. Well writen and played !
I really enjoy seeing the brother bond , nothing like having that Love in the mist of living your God giving gift . Beautiful work ... your parents must be proud of you both !

Solid country gold. Needs a third verse and it would be one if the greatest country songs ever. Gotta mention momma and trains in the third verse though. It's still the best damn song I've ever heard. Just wish jimmy would have sung some cost of livings high on AGT so he could've won that damn thang. Anyone who writes song like the coal song should get something big on payday. I still don't understand why it never was on the radio. Oh yeah, didn't mention mama or trains.

Would be great to see Jimmy play the Coal Festival in Southern Ohio next September. Nothing is more truer about coal especially for that area. It has fallen into the small town grave yard since all the mines have been closing over the past 20 years. The people of the area still celebrate what the coal industry once meant to the region.
