You know, audiences in Europe are not like in the US. We appreciate bands in a small setting like this differently, certainly almost never by just singing for them. :D
Maybe you should try coming to the U.S. before saying something stupid like that. We have stadiums for people like Taylor who want a lot of money, and thousands of small venues for everybody else. Maybe being from Europe isn't making you as modest and sweet and quaint as you think.
I still come here to get goosebumps. All emotions in this video is pure. Not to mention, all of you who coming here to see this, you are really good human.
This is still by far one of my most favorite song discoveries (thanks Reddit!), and I love this version even more than the original song. It’s so fun to see the genuine happy reaction. Love it still!
I don't think any other band can say they have ever had a single show have such a large impact on their career. This clip went viral and now they def can't go anywhere without people knowing the lyrics to sing along.
When you're a musician and going to different places you find yourself often singing originals to glass eyed onlookers just staring at you, because they don't know you're music yet. I recognized this song from a CD a friend burned for me this summer and I was like "Oh wait, I know this song,.." So it's cool to see the genuine surprise from these girls, playing in a new country where they didn't think anyone would know who they were. It's that kind of moment that you live for when you write music. That's what passion looks like. Very cool.
@@neivebroughton4723 oh well, personally I think it is shitty to give a smart ass reaction to such a heartfelt comment. But it might be just me. Have a nice day.
wouldnt it be funny that those 2.3million views were done by those 25.000 who gave it a thumbs up? because there is no way that you dont give it a like after watching it. and its pretty certain that you cant just watch it once, you will be coming back again and again.
The NYC music scene is awesome...I've been to a lot of shows like this at smaller, more intimate venues like this one and and it's always a packed house of real, dedicated fans for groups like this one.
With all the reality tv shows fake manufactured drama, this looks really refreshingly genuine. Definitely going to check out where I can buy some of BOY's music.
Yeah but it's more than that. This was a Swiss indie duo playing their very first show in the USA. They probably never imagined that people here would really even know who they were, let alone know their lyrics. Such a cool moment to have captured on video.
I was lucky enough to be at this show! (And doubly-lucky not to be standing next to whoever was gabbing over the beginning of the song. People who talk at concerts make me stabby.) The rest of the set was equally great. These two are indeed adorable.
Such an incredible song/performance. I can't imagine being that overcome with emotion in the middle of a song and than just carrying on and performing flawlessly!
This has literally got to be the best thing for bands; especially when you're just starting out or getting popular and people start singing your lyrics back to you.
I really do think people are capable of truly "stepping into someone else's shoes" to experience/connect/feel what others experience Most likely through imagination, but that feeling is what keeps me/us coming back to this video over and over again. Pure wholesomeness
Her first expression when she hears the audience singing her lyrics... priceless. This kind of videos really makes me feel in a very good mood, not mentioning her beautiful voice and that she is a very cute girl.
Can't even sing anymore, she's so excited. That's really cute.

Sweet

She was crying. You can't sing when crying.
This is so damn adorable, not to mention the song is really good.
At first when they started singing she got all choked up and couldn't sing for a bit. So cute.
Luis Velazquez you have eyes and ears as well?
I still come here to get goosebumps. All emotions in this video is pure.

What an unbelievable feeling that must be.
omg her reaction is so cute...
Genuine humility. Beautiful.
I rewind back to 0:50 over and over. Her genuine reaction to years and years of hard work getting recognized is everything.
Sammmme bro! There's a change in her voice after that, she was deeply affected and it's so heartwarming to watch ❤
I still come back to this, years later
Man, not sure if it's the song itself or the singer's reaction to the crowd, but watching this video gave me some pretty sweet frisson.
I was just thinking the same thing. one of those feel great moments
same here
you might be a little too feminine mate.. i loved the song but didn't gets chills.. and i love this song and i love getting frisson
datDANK Today I learned getting chills easily, makes you feminine. Okay.
MattShea369 datDANK Totally. its such a feminine thing to get chills right? Mate?
What a special moment captured
This brings tears to my eyes every time I see it
I also love how the song is about knowing something by heart and the crowd knows the lyrics by heart
How can you not smile at this?
Bodhi Broken jaw?
What a great voice she has.
It’s in these moments that I am filled with joy and gratitude and awe, just to witness the blooming of human hearts.
Not gonna lie, her reaction alone has made me watch this on loop. Can't believe this was 9 years ago!!
This is still by far one of my most favorite song discoveries (thanks Reddit!), and I love this version even more than the original song. It’s so fun to see the genuine happy reaction. Love it still!
It was just re-posted by a karma whore bot, but here I am for the first time so how much can I complain?
omg chills that's so awesome

This video makes me happy.
I could watch this 100x over. Their happiness is so contagious in this.

kleinerkoenigkalle Congratulations, you've found a way to whine about an honest comment, give yourself a treat :)

It's beautiful to see a mind blown in a good way.
I love how humble they are. And I like this arrangement as much as the other two..
I actually had goosebumps when watching this :^)
I did too but only because I was trying to push out a turd.
MaxinhoDK frisson :)
That's the cutest reaction to anything ever. So awesome!
Amazing song by a great group. Her reaction to the crowd is perfect. It helps remind everyone who creates just why they keep doing it.
Dat shake of the hands at 0:55
Pure excitement
I think it's the very definition of feeling giddy
Whenever I'm feeling down, this is one of the videos that I come back to watch and listen to. It helps to lift me up with how wholesome it is.
This is hands down one of my very favorite videos on the internet. The song is incredible. But this moment is even more incredible.
Even after all these years, whenever I am feeling down this video always makes me smile.

This is such a feel good video :] .. Im soo happy for her happiness
Straight up. I come back to watch this video every 6 months or so, it's just so awesome to see someone so uncontrollably happy.
Kelly Davis hi

This video always makes me cry 🤍

I'm still in love with Valeska.
This is one my feel good videos. Congratulations to BOY and I wish them great success!
That's a great song. I love the singer's reaction to the audience's participation.
"You are giving us...goosebumps." Adorable! Definitely checking out this band now!
It's been 10 years and this video is still great.
WOW....I seen this in an article about the crowd reaction....MUSIK IS 4 THE SOUL....2:25 I GOT EFFIN GOOSEBUMPS TO GIRL....
Validation [in your efforts, for your hard work.] from strangers is some wonderful wonderful joy.
Thank you Burnie for sharing this. This is awesome.
What podcast was this one?
beautiful song, beautiful lyrics, humble and beautiful singer, They will go far.
5 years later and I still love hearing this song and the reactions from the artists
made me smile, made my day
I'm glad to see that Nerd Cubed also has a heart.

Did he mention this song on twitter or in a youtube video?
Emiya It was a mystery video.
Still one of my favorite videos of all time in 2024. So wholesome, adorable, and endearing for humanity.
So beautiful to see their reaction to being recognized. Priceless.
All the feels.
You can see that was very important to her. That one small thingy that the crowd sings along with her.
randomly came back to this video after my last comment 7 years ago. still love the reactions :D
Awesome performance and good vibes. This music is great! Thanks for sharing! Cheers from Williamsburg, Brooklyn!

I really like this song. It is very good.
This is really sweet, ending my night on this video.
This is the most endearing thing ever:)
i've seen this so many times and i tear up every damn time

Her vocals at 2:00...goosebumps every damn time.
this sounds so much better than the album version, wtf
Hugh Jass they have the acoustic version on the album... :)
They reached the moment most musicians wish for, the audience knowing their song! Awesome!

Aren't they German?
The singer is Swiss and the bassist/rhythm is German.
Good to know, thanks :)
Great song, great performance.
beautiful song, beautiful lyrics, humble and beautiful singer.
This happened to me at a James Vincent McMorrow show in Toronto, ON a few years ago. His first sold out show on the tour! Amazing
I gotta check them out!
what a beautiful moment
And this is what is great about music. Something so little can mean so much.

i looooove this video. it gives me goose bumps. the whole thing is absolutely beautiful and quite moving. music equals freedom
This is so cute when the audience sing along and Valeska couldn't sing anymore.
That feeling when they realized they were good.! They're good!
That must be an amazing feeling to connect on such a level with the audience. I couldn't help but smile for them the entire time. :)

Great music is great because it causes an emotional reaction regardless of genre. I think this is a great example.
