Soooo couple questions: 1) Did the Jeep overheat under load with the heater core bypass? 2) Were the interior carpets drenched with coolant due to the massive heater core leak? 3) Were the original water pump and thermostat working just fine?
Coolant leaking into oil: the "easiest" point of entry for coolant into oil is oil cooler, common fail on 3.6. though the seals from cooler to block are most common fail (have done over a dozen), there are internal seals (cooler to mount orifice). Temporary fail during overheat would be my first guess. With average life of those seals just over 100,000, I would recommend replacing before secondary failure
I'm sorry but can you put in dumb way to say it to a regular guy like me 😭 my 300 Chrysler 2013 with the 3.6 has been heating up and the oil seems like it isn't mixing but once it heats up the coolant does seem to mix
😭 my 300 Chrysler 2013 with the 3.6 has been heating up and the oil seems like it isn't mixing but once it heats up the coolant does seem to mix , i have replace the thermostat all together it holded up for about a few hours and at night it ended up heating up
Were the radiator hoses hard? My 2014 Durango is having some small issues. Replaced the thermostat with a mopar housing and going to replace the radiator next but wondering about the waterpump.
Not sure if you fixed yours yet, but had something similar on ours. I replaced a leaky radiator and when I did I replaced the thermostat, (Mopar). Ran warm to hot after. Dug into again... Found the thermostat wasn't opening. New one from the dealer again, wouldn't open. Checked with a hot air station. Third one finally operated correctly, Jeep has been running fine since. Lesson learned, check thermostat operation before installing.
I am having the same problem, random over heat, new cap, thermostat, and water pump, oil clean, heat comes on randomly after a few engine rev. I can drive florida to NYC no problem, but once’s I stop for the next day I’ll have to fill it up again. No leak if visible from the engine bay. And what’s the hose size you used?

nope the jeep never overheated again. theyre still driving it this way
carpets were not wet but this is common for them to be
yes they were

It's likely a head gasket issue. This is what happens when they start to go, especially on these engines.
Omg mines the same I really need mines fixed
It sure looks like coolant was leaking into the oil.
Question Why? Every time I accelerate there is a water sound in my jeep
Right in dash ? Mine too
I need help finding a good place to go
But what was the milky substance on the filler cap?
This is exactly what's happening to my car rn
