      It took a year and one more flip flop. He only went to the Jets to leave for Minnesota. Packers wouldnt trade him there. He had a good laugh in 2009 but proved why Rodgers should take the job with the pick vs Saints. Then the Packers win the SB next year lol

      He retired bc they were clearly going to trade him for Aaron anyway. He literally said he was told he couldn't play in GB. People don't use context: The year before was the last on Aaron's rookie contract & you can't have 2 QBs signed to contracts big enough for starts, so they wouldn't have been able to keep both of them. Brett had become too expensive, & too much of a "diva" "sources" from the org said at the time. (Sound familiar?!?) They villainized him just like they're villainizing Aaron, both knew they were being pushed out & tried/are trying to leave on their own terms. Brett just tried to come back, but that doesn't mean he wasn't pushed out. All the logic points to that. GB likes cheap non-stars who aren't too big for the GB brand.

A) Aaron was clearly good & cheaper. B) The GB org had the same frustrations with Brett that they do with Aaron now: A star who'd become bigger than the GB brand & a "diva". I am not a fan if either team. It was clear that the Vikings were the better team, but they were having a sloppy performance with self inflicted wounds. It wasn't the Saints defense that made Favre and Peterson screw up the hand off for example. The Saints defense didn't make Favre throw that stupid pick at the end when they were in (long) FG range. For any Urinatingtree fans out there, long before Days of our Steelers and D.IV.A, there was Favre Watch, one of the most dramatic soap operas the NFL had to offer. After Green Bay decided to move on with Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, Favre started this media frenzy that only Anontio Brown could top, and the outcome of all this was one to remember, good and bad, for better or worse.
    The end of Favre Watch officially ended when Green Bay won a super bowl with Aaron Rodgers nine years ago, with Favre half the quarterback he used to be in at the tail-end of his career with the Vikings.

    Brett Favre was one of the greatest legends to ever play the game. He was one of the greatest quarterback to ever play the game. Mike McCarthy in the front office was a joke and caused a circus. Brett Favre never wanted to play for the New York Jets but he had to go there in order to get to Minnesota. NY was trash and he carried them to one win away from making the playoffs with a torn bicep in his throwing arm! Then in Minnesota he made an average offense look like one of the best in the league. This is only a month after he recovered from his bicep surgery. He would have won the championship that year if not for the league, Pete Morellli & crew and the Saints cheating him out of it. The second year at Minnesota they had even less surrounding Brett Favre and the man was playing after surviving death in the NFC championship game the year before. That was the most rigged game I have ever seen in my life of watching football. They still only lost by 3 in overtime, and that’s with Adrian Peterson fumbling the ball like six or seven times that game! Aaron Rodgers did not win a Super Bowl until Brett Favre was done and out of his way, Rogers had a lot of help that year too. Rodgers will never compare to Brett Fabre!

    Sorry but this is long. A part of this that’s never brought up now is that this weasel wanted to play for the Vikings not because they were the best fit, not because they were his favorite team growing up, not because they closer to home and his family, not because the Vikings had the most talented team and for one last Super Bowl and not to be closer to Jenn Sterger or even his Vicodin dealer he wanted to stick it to Ted Thompson and McCarthy and most importantly the fan base that loved him, wept with sorrow with him when his dad died and wept with joy with him after he utterly destroyed the Raiders the day after his dad died. He wanted to play for the most hated rival which after thirty years of suck was no longer the Bears. This was beginning to end his doing. Even with nearly the same number of sequels as the Rocky franchise i would have bought a ticket for “I’m officially retired, oops I did it again” even if it didn’t take place in GB as long as it wasn’t in Minnesota. I did feel a little guilty for feeling this way right up until the football god gave me closure when he threw the single worst INT in NFL history. I feel nothing for this man. Like people remember where they were when Kennedy was assassinated I remember where I was when Ron Wolf traded a first round pick for a hillbilly no one new who was a second round pick and threw three passes one incomplete, one pick and one completed but to himself and called for Ron Wolf to be fired.

      Harry Engel No the Vikings is the absolute F-you I understand your point because with hindsight if we knew that game was a lock one NFC championship game would be a bigger dig and a sweeter I told you so. But as far as the biggest rival since Favre got here the Vikings wear that crown. Ryan Longwell was the all time points leader was the most accurate kicker in NFL history but the Packers would not give him the money he wanted. Big deal he was a kicker right ? At his Vikings presser he exclaimed that “a game winner versus the Packers would be a dream come true “and payback for not paying him. This event I believe was the moment the seed was planted in his brain and after Favre Greg Jennings did the same. I don’t usually take this stuff to seriously but Favre was different because when people thought of the face of the Packers that face wasn’t Lombardi who retired and un - retired but only once and to a team with no rivalry (Washington) or Bart Starr. But if we knew that NFC Championship was coming i might think differently. Sorry for how long this was.

    This is a overrated QB. Great gungslinger and all but no more than that. Don't get me wrong, the man was good but he never polish his raw talent, besides the fact he owns a bad TD-INT ratio.

      Jameis is the 2nd coming

    • @Footballfansblue
      @Footballfansblue 4 роки тому +3

      @@abyssalgodsword Favre is way better than Jameis. In 2000 (about the midpoint of Favre's career) the league average passer rating was 78 and the league average completion % was 58. In 2019, the league average passer rating was 91 and the league-average completion percentage was 64 %. Favre was often at or near the top of the league in passer rating, yards per attempt, TD's and completion percentage, while Jameis is often below average is completion percentage and passer rating. So even though they have similar total numbers, Favre was doing it when it was harder to pass effectively.

      Only if you go by arm strength sure but as much as I like Favre he could be a bonehead. Peyton on the other hand always had the highest football IQ of any player on the field.

    • @earlmcmanus194
      @earlmcmanus194 4 роки тому

      @Harry Engel , "I’d say Farve narrowly because Peyton has two rings, but one of them was a game where the defense did most of the work", what completely arbitrary and obtuse way to compare their careers. If you're going to blindly base things off a single statistic why not SB appearances instead of wins? Why not MVP titles?

    • @earlmcmanus194
      @earlmcmanus194 4 роки тому

      @Harry Engel , I think Manning is the GOAT and looking at the stat sheet the comparison between Favre and Manning isn't even close, particularly passer rating and TD-INT ratio. I think Favre is very good but doesn't belong in the conversation of the top 5 and while he does deserve his gold jacket I think the fact that him and Warner had the same eligibility(both playing last in 2009) with Favre getting to Canton first is nonsense.
