The game where Brett Favre father died was such an awesome performance. Im not a Packers fan but I always enjoyed watching Brett Favre play football
That was a all time classic performance.
One of those games I'll never forget. Not a Packer fan either....but Favre is my favorite player ever, outside of my own team. Football was a different kind of exciting back then.
I'm a Raider fan and I watched that game in a neighborhood tavern in central Wisconsin. Sporting a Raider jersey, of course. Packer fans were pelting me with popcorn and coasters all night, while Raider fans at the game were showing class and humility.
The whole thing was hilarious.
I'm not even a fan of Favre or the Packers and I STILL remember that game. 399 yards 4 TDs 0 INT if memory serves....
@@KenD67 I think that was just the 1st half.lol
As a Chicago Bears fan, it was always so hard to root against this guy - I’m a Bears fan but truly was always a Brett Favre fan… loved this!
#4
as a packers fan i always rooted for jay cutler 😅
Now that’s cool. From this Packer fan. Walter Payton is the goat! Sweatness
Niners fan same.
Every now and again I go back and watch that game against the raiders just to feel what I felt watching that night
It’s been over 10 years since Favre played in an NFL game. To this day it is difficult to get through any entire NFL game without the announcers saying his name. That is the ultimate testament to Favre’s greatness as an NFL QB…
And still comparines the QB of Green Bay to him. The man is the legend and alway will be.
A legend in football a complete A** in life! Stealing welfare funds?! Really?!?
Yeah a legend with a strong d-pic game who knows how to be fiscally sound by letting the government i.e. taxpayers pay for Volleyball courts... Respect 😅
Long after Favre is gone... they'll still talk about him .. he's cemented into NFL history.
to me Brett Favre and John Madden are linked since John Madden would say his name at least 200 times per broadcast and that's even if the Packers weren't playing.
My father passed away when I was in Hattiesubrg at college. After the funeral I came back and had a concert with the USM JAZZ BAND. My teachers there were so good to me.
The joy this guy brought to Green Bay football will never be forgotten. Glad to be a fan during his era, just plain fun!
Now it’s Jordan Love’s turn👌
You kinda get the same feeling with love
Yep, Go Pack Go!!
No. 4 was exciting and fun to watch, equally for the great plays he made and the terrible plays he made that lost playoff games. His team won one Super Bowl, lost another, and never played in another. I would say he hasn't done much to help his personal reputation after stealing money from disabled people to build volleyball courts for his daughter's team. Those TD passes don't make up for that.
Packers had Favre and Rodgers for 30 straight years…. They won only 2 SBs. What a disgrace.
@@MonteVanVleet facts friend. That's how many southern folks think. Praise God and fuk anyone else
When we got Brett in MN, it was so sweet! I was at a Sf vs mn game and behind sf with seconds left Brett scrambled at the 50 yard line and was in the jersey grasp of a 49er and Brett let it go around 60 yards to the back of the end zone and we won!!! But that division championship against the saints really showed the man of steel Brett was and i was so mad at the NFL REFS for letting Brett take such a physical beating (bounty) and not call or eject any saint (and they were no saints out there on New Orlenes side) that was so cheap!! ... Brett didn't say this in the interview, but the day after, he lifted up his shirt, and his whole body was bruised up top to bottom, no exaggeration! Needless to say, I respected Brett's heart that much more.❤
Yes pissed me off too, he was beaten up and not a flag! That's was crap! Refs had to hate him! Sorry individuals!
@@bradleymiller7375an nfl rigged game with bounty hunters. 😢
Bears fan.. Favre is the toughest QB of all time. I always thought he was made out of rock. He's built different. Fun to watch, carefree but passionate
Just a couple plays go a little different and even with the bounty on him, he and that team still almost whips the team the NFL wanted to win a championship. Same with 07 in Green Bay. He was razor sharp both of those seasons.
... 👍 I agree! It was a thrill to see Brett and all the passion he plays with both in grren and gold and purple and gold!!!❤❤
I grew up hearing stories about starr, I fell in love with the majik man as a young boy, and then I grew up watching Favre and Rodgers. I am spoiled rotten and am now 46, and am in Love again! Go Pack Go!
Green Bay's legacy is amazing, back to Don Hutson, Vince Lombardi, Paul Hornung, Ray Nitschke, and Sterling Sharpe and likely Jordan Love.
It was really nice for Brett to be so candid about his difficulties. Great interview!
@@LutheranTruckin really?
This is an Interview of the Centuries. I loved every second of it. Outstanding integrity Mr. Brett Favre. I love you. Edwin ... A Packer Fan since 1958. Go Pack Go !
I was 18-19 when he took over for the quarterback of the Packers. The history of what he did throughout his career is second to none. I've never wanted to miss a game. Win or lose. It was for me, the most exciting time on the NFL. He may not be the best QB of all time, but he was sure as hell the most exciting player I've ever witnessed. His passion for the game is unrivaled. He gave it all every game. No excuses, the best I've ever seen in my lifetime. Every play, every down. Determined to win at all costs. #4.
Nice comment because everything you said was dead on .
I appreciate your loyalty - and he was a great player and a great quarterback. but all-time greatest has to go to the qbs with Seven SBs - including one for TampaBrady and the ones with four SBs. Joe is my guy. and the man with Seven SBs over twenty years was a great football player and a great qb (Too). no denying the legend of Farve - 297 consecutive starts. broken ankle, broken hand, broken shoulder - he played.
he always gave 100% on ever single play. i don't ever remember him throwing the ball away. all people talk about are the INTs but he doesn't even have the highest INT ratio
@@tomj47you’re annoying
I am a Viking fan and Brett Favre was my favorite player in the NFL. For all of the reasons you just mentioned.
Brett is the reason why i like football and i like the Packers since 95. Thanks Brett for the great memories...
Green Bay Packers have been my favorite team since Bart Star won😊two of the first Super Bowls with Vince Lombardi which is the name Sake of the SB Trophy , but I remember watching Brett Favre playing with the Packers and he looks as he having more fun then anyone on the field, love watching him play to win. Thanks Brett
Tough dad, leadership, ability, sense of humour, licked a drug habit and that wonderful southern drawl that I could listen to all day😊
Favre would be like John Madden on TV. A legend.
This was recorded in 2016 before all the recent legal drama he’s been in in case anyone was wondering. Joe and Brett both look about 5-10 years younger here
Thank you. That was not made clear to me.
Wondered why he didn't ask about it
Adrenochrome (just kidding)
I was literally about to say I don't see how in the world he's sitting there talking about his daughter playing volleyball when he did the things he did for her to have a place to play volleyball! I was seriously thinking to myself "you've got to be an even bigger moron then we already know to sit there and talk about the same daughter playing the same sport that you were willing to bamboozle the people of Mississippi out of their money for her to have a place to play volleyball"!!bWhat a Loser.. he's sitting there talking about how the people of Mississippi don't make a bunch of money and his mother was a teacher and teachers in Mississippi don't make a bunch of money, but he had no problem ripping the people of Mississippi off of their money. What an ASSHOLE because at the time of this recording some of that had to have been in the works. It's already 2024 now! Very much so did it have to be in the works already by now at the time of this recording..WHAT A P.O.S
Still hasn’t shaved his beard 😂
The Paul Bunyan of NFL history
I miss watching Brett play football, he made it fun to play the game!🤩😚😂
Every time I hear Brett Favre, I am reminded of how important he was to the history of the Green Bay Packers. What a great athlete!
Truth
I was very very young just started gettin into football and Favre had a lot to do with it, I remember that first year of him and knowing how scrappy he was and just knowing we had a good chance against anyone wih him running the show. I still remember actually him having to he taught to stop dropping his shoulders and plowing into linebackers when he rushed. Cuz the guy used to just try to stream roll everyone like he was a running back. He used to tackle dudes when he threw interceptions lol.
I remember him stealing millions from the poor

@@Ken-ck4zn I know this comment was directed to me but what does a senile old man that loads a diaper in his pants have to do with Brett Favre and football?
This was such a great interview. Brought back many great memories of my childhood. Thank you, Joe Buck.
I am a life long Raiders fan. I love everything about Brett Favre. Growing up in the 90’s & 2000’s, living in the west coast, I would always watch the Green Bay Packers on Sundays 10am games. I watched the Packers because of Brett Favre and I always rooted for him to win. Then I would watch the Raiders. Brett Favre made NFL Sundays great. Lots of fun. I used to go out in the yard or on the field at school and imitate his throwing motions and I would throw as hard as I could. Because when your a kid in the 90’s the quarterback you wanted to be was Brett Favre. No one else was better than #4.
Raider fan here as well and definitely #4 is my all time favorite QB. Born in the 80s but the 90s raised me. Watching Favre was fun
Continue to enjoy my signed football from Brett. Thank you for the years and person you became.
Life long RAIDERS fan. 💯❤️ Brett Favre. He is 💯 real and a class act. Thanks for all the great memories Brett!
Bret, was a great, he loved the game, he loved his teammates, he played the game hurt all the time never set out, is passion for game was unbelievable, he was the best, it was never about the money, hats off to one of the greatest players to play the game, he loved football.
Absolutely loved watching you play! Thank you #4 !!!!
Wow. This was awesome. Was the best Favre interview I’ve seen in long time. Joe Buck done a great job!
If you love football,,. Brett Favre was must see TV, win or lose this guy was the most exciting QB I've ever seen
BRET AND HIS FAMILY ANSWERED A REQUEST FOR AND AUTOGRAPH PICTURE FOR MY 2 GRANDSONS WITH CANCER AFTER HE WENT TO MINNESOTA! He Sent it with a personal letter,I will always honor and RESPECT THE FAVRES! It must have made a difference, because after 3 years in treatment, they are both fine young men !
I am a Lions fan my whole life..but I always loved and respected Bret Farve..😉👍
He always beat my Niners. I couldn't stand him, but if I had a team and I needed a QB, I'd take him in a heartbeat. He could sling it and make great things happen like no other
Did you enjoy his dik pic?
As a packer fan I never held that against Favre for going Minnesota I was pissed at the organization for letting him go . I wanted him to do good . Fran Tarkenton Joe Namath were my childhood hero QB , never had anymore favorite players until Favre in my 20’s and my 30’s for his toughness etc . Still respect the heck out of him .
As a Vikes fan it was a fun year for us. It always ends in heartache but all of the same, it was fun and we'll always remember Brett fondly as well
As a lifelong Packer fan I hate that I was rooting hard against him in that Saints game but I was. I was hoping for revenge as much as he was when he played GB that year.
it would be nice if you would put the date of the interview in the title considering so much more has happened since the interviews for a lot of these players.
I'm just old enough to have seen both the Jordan Flu game and the Favre's dad game.
Honestly, I look at both in the same light. They're both 2 of the greatest performances by an athlete ever and they transcend the games that we all love. The sheer will and determination to triumph over adversity and then actually doing it is what makes men & women into legends. Brett Favre, like him or not, is a legend and always will be.
My all time favorite player. Why I started loving football at like age 8 watching it with my Grandpa.
From his first college game, first pro game, winning the Super Bowl, having his best game ever the day after his father dies, all the comeback victories this man is absolutely Legend!
Favre set the standard for excitement in a game and toughness of himself and his team!
He was a selfish player. He’s a fraud all around
he also set the standard for how low an athlete can get as a human being.
he is certainly a standard setter! thats for sure.
hernandez had the standard before, but favre could nt stand it and so he decided to top that, by stealing from the poor hungray americans to build? a temple? a church? a water canal? no, a volleyball court for his daughter!
Favre haters are complete losers.
@CP-ct5hp wow can u back this up?? Mouth!!!
@@AsifKhan-hf9zywhat about those photos, he sent to that girl?? His junk, hoping that was a lie!
Your going to tell me that all these documentaries have been kept for nearly 8 years and just now being released. Pure gold..😊
I've just found these also for the first time within the last few weeks. For the first few I thought it was current 2023/24 programming lol
He is still and always be one of my all time favorites. I'm a Raiders fan
A true legend! I was born and raised in colorado, and a huge Broncos fan. But how could anyone not love bret farve? A true legend!
My 2 friends were southern miss fans and they made me go to blue grey bowl game on Xmas day to see they’re Farve QB. They told me that day he’d be an nfl legend.
Joe Buck, thank you for the video. I believe a big reason for the success of Aaron Rodgers and now Jordan Love is because of the quarterback DNA that Brett Favre provided. May God Bless.
And then there is the volleyball scandal stealing money from the poorest of the poor in poverty stricken Miss. What a guy, eh!
DNA brett favre provided? you mean brett favre shanked the mother of Jordan Love?
jesus. what next.

Had the opportunity to get a private tour of the Packers locker room in 1997 during playoff week. Stood right in front of Favre's locker and Reggie Whites and just stared. What a magical moment. I miss those years.
I pulled for Brett his whole career. He was exciting to watch every Sunday. Great interview from Joe also. Excellent.
Great interview, wonderful show......Thank you Joe Buck!

So many great memories. Thank you Brett. 😃
I watched a lot of Frank Caliendo impressions and his John Madden - Bret Favre was on point. Would’ve loved a little reference on that lol.
Great interview as always!! I’ll have to talk about this in my show. Incredible journey for Favre.

Great interview.
I sorta quit watching football
For almost 2o years

Basically skipped the dark ages of the 70’s and 80’s? I wouldn’t blame you lol

Fantastic Interview
Thank you for having Brett on your podcast show.always a huge fan
Thanks Joe great interview with #4
Joe Buck has to be as perceptive
an interviewer as I've ever seen.
He allows his guests to tell their
story in the way they feel most
comfortable doing which often
includes sensitive or difficult-
areas that they want to express
from their perspective because
they know that Joe has done the
research and respects the guests
feelings on whether or not they
wish to discuss certain topics.
Either way, Joe has empathy for
their position and is not patronizing. I think that attention
to details along with the respect
for the authenticity of each person's life story, makes Joe such
a fine interviewer.
That is so well said. You speak for me as well on that one!
Very good interview
The weakness of today's youth has been blessed by today's fathers AND Mothers. My Father (God Bless Dad) had compassion, but he was Strick, and the word Can't was a forbidden word around Dad. I do not remember when OR if i used the word can't but just hearing Dad talk about the negative connotation associated with the word was enough for me not to use the word can't ....LOL... Gosh, I miss Dad and he's been gone 20 years or so.....
That was great! o

What a great watch, love the honesty!
He is an example to every young man who wants be great. That’s what it takes - be tougher than than everybody else and never quit, no matter what happens. Being scared is no way to go through life.
go pack, still get the chills, watching high light of him the super bowl

This made me cry like a baby
I wanted him to be able to win the Superbowl one last time. Great player, enjoyed watching Him play.
Love me some Brett Favre!!!
I'm in central Wisconsin, WE WILL ALWAYS LOVE HIM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He changed the whole trajectory for the Packers ! His legacy continues with Rodger’s and Love. I own one Share of the Packers and will be a fan forever ! I’m not gonna lie. I UA-cam his games often. GOAT
The reason so many people like myself are in to football. Brett was not perfect, and few people in the NFL are it seems, but Ill always will be thankful I got to watch him. Also great interview by Joe. Going to have to check out the rest of these!
nobody is perfect, but to steal money from starving hungry people to build a volleyball court for your child when you can easily do the same from your own pocket? that is not not perfect, that is some very special disgusting human being.
As a Cowboys fan, I always loved playoff time because I KNEW we were gonna have to play one of our NFC East foes, and after we blasted them (inevitably 😂), there was always either Young and the Niners waiting or Favre and the Cheeseheads waiting. And it was ALWAYS a battle and it was ALWAYS FUN, win or lose.
I miss those days. Watching Cowboys football with my family around. I miss you Grandpa Elias, Tio Neto, and my Primo Leon. RIP to you all. I miss you.
Brett Favre has a place in my heart because he’s part of those memories.

Damn, you have no idea how bad I miss this guy... I cant watch a football game without thinking of him. He's a legend!!
Always liked to watch Brett Favre play football.
The aura of not just Green Bay but Wisconsin and all Packland changed when he came along with Wolf etc. He made every game feel like a game that could be won. Maybe on 1 hand i could count where it felt he wasnt all there. Every other time which was all the time he gave it all and was fucking GOOD on top of that.
I know he hasn't been the best in the last couple years but he was my favorite player growin uo had his posters on my wall his jerseys everything will always be my favorite player no matter what..
Because you're a sleaze bag just like him.
I was a huge Packers fan my entire life until they didn't let Favre come back! I took myself off of the season ticket waiting list after that happened and became a Jets fan. The next season I was a huge Vikings fan! Was never a Packers fan while Mike McCarthy, Ted Thompson and Aaron Rodgers were still there. I was rooting for the Stealers in that Super Bowl with the three of them in Green Bay. Now that they are all gone, I'm finally starting to watch Packers games again. There is some fan psychology for you...
That was fun
So fun lol I love these awesome chats 🏈
He was my hero the whole reason I became a Packers fan.
My second all time quarterback! Terry Bradshaw as my first. He and Terry was tough as nails and did what they had to do to win games! Both had bomber arms.
And they called their own plays! Remarkable!
Agree. Bert Jones too. The Ruston Rifle.
He did it awsome😊
Legend! GO PACK GO!!
He may have stepped on it after football.. But man was an outstanding Quarterback.
Seeing him at Lambeau Field changed how i saw football. My first time at a game, his first time coming into the game.. wow
One of the best nfl games was packers vs Vikings. Brett brought it home.
I was never a pro player (basketball & downhill skiing) and here I sit with blown out pinky on my left hand, worn out left knee 3 times scoped (one legged jumper) 3 crushed vertebra (skiing) and amazingly no pain issues, but definitely performance fall off. What I would like to know from these iconic players is, what physical issues do they live with in retirement… and to hear the body count of injuries suffered in their career. Most folks don’t even know or understand what brutality they endured in a career… we heard a bit from Brett… but there is a lot more I’m sure would very interesting.
Yes our Golden years Hahaha!
The game right after his dad passed away is still one of the best qb performances ever
This father-son theme reminds me of my mother, dad, and me sitting around the table and she was talking about me and saying to my dad, "He's a good boy isn't he?" She said it a few times before dad finally said, " I'm not going tell him that in front of him." i look back on that occasionally when i'm reminded of it-- and i always say to myself, "Why not?"
legend !! that 1996 season 🧀 made my 12 year old self love football forever
