I know people love the Tim Rattay narrative, but let's be real, by the time Brady could have started a game in SF, he already would have won 2 rings with New England. Not only that but he would face the same hell as Smith with constant offensive scheme changes and different coaching staffs. Like Thomas said Brady wouldn't be Brady without Belichick, if he somehow landed in SF during that time, the story would be way different.
Glad Aaron has had an awesome career and continues to, and I'm glad Alex eventually came into his own. Was cool to spend my early teens up until today pretty much watching them both.
@BJL , Yah but if I see two guys out in the street, out of their element. Hyped by the crowd and he hits dead on, didn't even touch the sides of the tire. Then the other guy doesn't even come close to making that throw. I'm going to pick the guy who can make that shot on the first go, without hesitation. I'm still pissed we didn't pick him.
Ric T. 49 He is cold as ice bro or as Stephen A says „He‘s a BAAAD man“ and one was able to see that right away, also in this throw;) Gotta love QBs with cold precision an the will to turn around games which are lost for nearly everybody. From a Brady Fanboy :D
I think he may not have been the player he is today if he didn't sit on the bench for awhile on the Packers. While he was there, they adjusted the way he threw the ball so that he COULD throw it deep. Perhaps he wouldn't have been as good if he didn't have time to do that and to observe Favre before starting.
Brady wasn't a top prospect. it's like in today's world, Sam Darnold is the favorite to go first or something. But then Darnold drops to number 24, that's pretty disappointing lol
I'm glad at the end he went to the best team in the world , a team with the most beautiful colors , greatest football field and best fans , go Packers forever.
You can see the system protecting itself after he didn't get picked. They start showing clips of everything "wrong" with him and why he's not getting picked.
Nobody ever knows and that's why I hate the draft and speculating.. it means nothing. Talk to me after 2-3 seasons and we'll talk how good a player so and so is What makes it more confusing is depending on what team he goes to, especially QBs. I seriously think alot of good QBs out there are only "serviceable" because they're in a bad system.
Bigcassady Tv sorry that didn’t happen, he lost his starting job halfway thru the season. I don’t like Kaep either but in 2012 he played well. And idk what universe you live in but you don’t get into the HOF for starting half the season on a team that eventually goes to the Super Bowl and loses. If that’s your only argument, you just helped prove my point.
Who else is watching this after Ted Thompson passed away today? Thank you Ted, for giving us Packer fans the privilege of watching one of the most talented QB’s ever lead our team 😢
Ted Thompson was horrible for the packers. Packers front office has been the biggest enemy of the team for so long it's ridiculous. Not signing free agents or anything isn't how you build a championship team when lots of draft picks will be busts.
@@dark_ritThe one year that Rodgers has a top 5 defense, he wins a Super Bowl. It’s funny how that works, and how everyday fans like us can see that but NFL owners don’t seem to grasp that concept. Rodgers really got the Dan Marino treatment. It’s almost like Thompson and the Packers office sat back and said “wow this quarterback is really good and can win games on his own, let’s not even worry about the pieces around him”. Compare guys like Rodgers and Brees to Brady in New England. The Patriots office was always looking to improve their team through free agency and the draft. However some of that was Brady’s willingness to restructure his contract to free up money to sign players. It’s why he’s got 7 rings and unfortunately, Rodgers only has one and that will probably be it.
@Hemanth Swarna @ SuperPunch76 learning is a process that takes place even if you don't wan to learn but there is absolutely nothing suggest that one becomes this great because of his learning. Also, he had to sit back because of the guy who was starting at the time.

@@Mashukoria nah, it wasnt really 50/50. Its been documented that a lot of teams felt like Smith was a better player, including Miami and Tampa Bay. Smith was seen as a better player in college.

10:00 this is the rare times when someone says "it's very humbling" in the correct context. often you hear someone use this phrase after they win an award for some reason which makes no sense.
I have to think it's some kind of cosmic justice that the 49ers would go from Joe Montana to Steve Young, only to miss on two of the greatest QBs ever who both had ties to California/the 49ers and both wanted to be drafted by them badly. I'm speaking of course of Tom Brady who grew up a die-hard Niners fan and huge Joe Montana fan, and A-Rod. It's ironic if nothing else.
@Vincent Cuttolo Mike McCarthy isn't a wonderful coach, he's an OVERRATED coach who benefited from Rodgers. The Packers won in spite of McCarthy and Capers. Without Rodgers and Woodson DRAGGING this piss poor coaching staff over the finishing line Mike McCarthy would have never won a Superbowl. Fact is, The Packers should have been in three more. Why not? Mike McCarthy was out coached. Ugh.
*As a 49ers Fan i feel so bad for Aaron Rodgers for not being our QB when that was his dream, but yet im happy hes at least really High up there with the Packers*
Aaron Rodgers would not have survived being on the 49ers as they hired a new OC every season from 2005-08, and not to mention those teams didn’t have a good line or WRs to speak of! Come to think of it, it’s all the more amazing that Alex Smith had a decent career in KC after surviving that QB hellhole!
Can you imagine taking Alex Smith over Rodgers? That's like being offered a meal at a Gordon Ramsey restaurant and choosing to rather go to eat at taco bell. Sure the taco bell isn't bad as far as fast food goes. But come on.
Chris not only that but Rodgers could retire now amd still be a slam dunk for the hof. And still be in the conversation for greatest QB ever. Obviously not most sure QB ever, but to me those are different things.
They are both in their 14th year as starters. In fact, they play each other next weekend. Smith owns the better record in 1-on-1 matchups in college and NFL
Alex Smith came into a horrible situation with the niners. They had a terrible offensive scheme and only a handful of actually good receivers through his time in SF, Vernon davis and Michael Crabtree.
Half those guys aren’t in the NFL anymore. Amazing....always good for a laugh to watch these drafts and see how many of these guys are still in the league, how many made it for long term, how many are stars, and how many were giant busts

@@binsun820 not really, statistics wise, Rodgers is better. Fastest QB to 400 TD’s this year, QB rating is the highest, of all time. If you put Rodgers on the Pats, they would probably have 8 rings being dead serious.
@@williamcharles587 I mean, not really, you half to consider that McCarthy was the definition of stale. His play calling was horrifically predictable and the amount of games that Rodgers has clutched shows he’s just as capable as Brady if not more. We’ll see with LaFluer, but with him Packers are way more dangerous it seems
@@williamcharles587 Rodgers is just as good under pressure though is the thing. The amount of teams Rodgers has stabbed in the heart has more than proven he’s just as cool under pressure. Besides, if you look at Brady, he relies on a system. He gets the ball and gets it out as soon as he can. It doesn’t make him bad, but he can’t usually keep a play going like Rodgers can. I’m not talking out of my ass, watch his film, then Rodgers. You are absolutely right it’s not just playcalling, otherwise he wouldn’t have 6 rings, but when you look at just how bad McCarthy’s playcalling was in his final years at Green Bay. Yet despite that, and how horrifically predictable we were, he still led us to 12-4. Rodgers is more skilled. Whether it’s from film, or from pure statistics. Super Bowl’s mean nothing in this regard, otherwise no one would even mention quarterbacks like Dan Marino or Warren Moon.
Everyone back then at the time "Alex Smith is just a bit better, likely #1" Everyone when this video was made "I knew Aaron would be better - it was obvious!" Mayock nailed it though. That's probably a big reason why he's seen as the big draft guru.
No. Drew Brees is the most talented to have had only one probowl receiver, terrible defenses, and the high completion percentage in NFL History. Brady is good but as sports talker say GOAT but in reality he is good because of the GCOAT (Greatest Coach of all time) Belichick. Then Rodgers comes along and somehow knows how to get higher QB ratings not completion % and he usually has an Okay D to help him win. Do not get me wrong as Rodgers is very good but he is not the most talented. Greatness is said to be won with championships so technically Brady has that but accuracy speaks the truth and Brees is the most Accurate. He simply does not ever have a defense that knows how to tackle.
Greatest draft blunders in NFL history: 49ers passed on both Tom Brady and Aaron Rodgers. You thought they'd known better after having Montana and Young
Some of those teams didn’t need a qb.Nobody knew he was going to be this good. Rodgers is literally carrying the packers, they are a under 500 team without him.

Hunter Brady wouldn’t be Brady if he got drafted by any other team. Belichick made him the qb he is
THOMAS CARTER L
I know people love the Tim Rattay narrative, but let's be real, by the time Brady could have started a game in SF, he already would have won 2 rings with New England. Not only that but he would face the same hell as Smith with constant offensive scheme changes and different coaching staffs. Like Thomas said Brady wouldn't be Brady without Belichick, if he somehow landed in SF during that time, the story would be way different.

Glad Aaron has had an awesome career and continues to, and I'm glad Alex eventually came into his own. Was cool to spend my early teens up until today pretty much watching them both.
They said the way he holds the ball makes it so he couldn't throw the deep ball well. Mr. Hail Mary can't throw the deep ball....😂
And just yesterday he threw another two long ass passes exactly on target. 13 years later
Ric T. 49
He is cold as ice bro or as Stephen A says „He‘s a BAAAD man“ and one was able to see that right away, also in this throw;) Gotta love QBs with cold precision an the will to turn around games which are lost for nearly everybody.
@BJL, maybe the scouts should look at the tire throws.
Just like Brady - use the disappointment as fuel to dominate

Nobody ever knows and that's why I hate the draft and speculating.. it means nothing. Talk to me after 2-3 seasons and we'll talk how good a player so and so is
What makes it more confusing is depending on what team he goes to, especially QBs. I seriously think alot of good QBs out there are only "serviceable" because they're in a bad system.

If that’s your only argument, you just helped prove my point.
Who else is watching this after Ted Thompson passed away today? Thank you Ted, for giving us Packer fans the privilege of watching one of the most talented QB’s ever lead our team 😢
Ted Thompson wasted Rodgers' career due to his staunch refusal to sign free agents. Rodgers should've more than 1 ring.

Well it was 50/50 for San Fran picking Rodgers/Smith, and if one of them didn't get picked by the 49ers the other one would get picked most likely by the Packers
Nicholas Katsikas Yup. Other analysts think with their gut. He actually accounts for multiple logical variables.

Without Rodgers and Woodson DRAGGING this piss poor coaching staff over the finishing line Mike McCarthy would have never won a Superbowl. Fact is, The Packers should have been in three more. Why not? Mike McCarthy was out coached. Ugh.

Come to think of it, it’s all the more amazing that Alex Smith had a decent career in KC after surviving that QB hellhole!

Joe Montana is greatest not most talented
Righteous1 true
Tom brady?
