The Levert Fitness Equalizer XL are one of my favorite pieces of home fitness equipment after 2 years of training with them. I am amazed at how well these have lasted for those 2 years and here is my review of the product from training with them each and every week. Make sure you see my full list of current home equipment over at gamerbody.com/equipment/
That’s what I call a real world review real world use. After two years then the review? I’m sold! Now you can really give the good and the bad. Great job! Thanks for taking the time to share. Just ordered mine.
@@ReneJethmal -I know I couldn’t believe it when I found it. They are really great, my husband LOVES the bars. I’m too weak for them as yet, but working on it. Haha.
Sold, ordered mine, I had one that is one piece and it takes too much space I got a power tower and the dip on that is a little shakey, excited to start using this one thanks for the review !
I'm 5'10" and found the XL to be a little small. However, it is still a quality product and have used it for well over one year. Will give the XXL version a try.
I am thinking about getting my equalizers this holiday season, they are on sale now in Amazon. I’m also about 5’10, 5’11, I have never done this before, and feel a bit intimidating and afraid that it may be just collecting dust after I buy it. I am still debating whether I should just get the equalizer set or just the Lebert push up bar set (the short equalizer bars). What is your suggestion? Equalizers or push up bars? If I do get the equalizers, you would still recommend the XL (black one) over the other colors in regular size (yellow, pink, white, green, there is another black version that is in regular size also)?
If you decide to get it, get the XL for your height. You will still need to bend your knees, but it will work just fine from there. As for getting them and using them, that will come down to you having a plan in place first, then being consistent. If you don't think you will be consistent, build up a routine/program where you can be before getting them and adding it in.
I was comparing this to the Ultimate Body Press Dip Station and I think these have won out for how compact they are and the 2 year+ of use! I recently quit my gym membership and have a few of the old twist on/twist off dumbbells (not convenient but hey they work), resistance bands, the Step, and the Instar bar (thanks for the recommendation), but I definitely have been in need of something for those body-weight movements other than pushups and squats. Definitely putting some Christmas money from the grandparents towards these despite being a little more pricey!
I agree. I had the older version of the Ultimate Body Press Dip Station and it was fine, but the Lebert Fitness Equalizers are much better for storing and feel more "premium". The Ultimate may have updated since then, but I have enjoyed the Lebert a lot over the years.
Dude after I saw your last review I bought the same one as yours and I have made amazing strength gains and I have made alot of progress especially during this whole covid thing, my coworkers were like bro you got really musclar lol I felt sooo good hearing that and calisthenics has really helped me out and mostly thanks to the equalizer bars, I gave away my workout bemchs and my dumbbells, I don't need them anymore. Thank you for making these awesome reviews cause it really has helped me to make a good choice in buying something.
That is amazing! Keep up the excellent work. I still have my dumbbells and bench, but looking to get down to only keeping what I really need for the best results. I want to see you crush it at calisthenics and continue to build your skills :)
Benches and dumbbells are extremely versatile for upper and lower body. You can't do everything with a dip bar. Happy for you but....yikes on giving those away!
@@Mike-hw5jp hi Mike, it's ok , trust me I don't regret giving up my bench and weights, the bench was fun, it even had a preacher curl too, but so far since I bought those bars I have made a lot of progress, I'm very creative when it comes to calisthenics and I can squeeze out about 10 different things I can do with it, really its just about being creative with your surroundings, I've seen videos of people doing things with them I can not possibly do at this moment, but overall for bodyweight training and toning up, I can truly say they have helped a lot
@GamerBody. Couldn't agree more! I am only 5'9" and my knees touch the floor on dips. I am thinking about upgrading to the new XXL model. It is 2 inches higher than the XLs.
hi, I see that you did a review on the ultimate body press dip (the one that you can collapse), what is the advantage of this one compare to that one? thanks for your video review!
That one isn't as stable (can't do one side at a time) and it is not as easy to store. It does collapse but you have to take it apart by pushing I'm the connectors and then turning the pieces to fold together. The Levers Equalizers can be stacked a lot better in a closet or the side of a wall. They are also more stable.
I've only ever used the Lebert brand from the list you provided. I also used the Ultimate one from a while back but it's nothing compared to the Leberts. I'll be testing more out in the future but I love the Lebert.
Yeah I actually did order one before the virus and they were going to send me one for promoting the dumbbells. Then the virus hit and things have changed a lot. Hopefully I do get one in the future :)
I'd love to see you do a video about developing a mind to muscle connection I feel like you could explain it very good I've struggled with it especially for my chest it seems almost impossible for me
@@GamerBody Yes. Perhaps if one was placed against the wall, your heels/shoes on top, torso under the other in an overhand row position, it might work. Worth a try.
Any plan to upgrade to powerblock or ironmaster dumbbells in the near future. I know you have said that you’ve outgrown the 50 lb limit with your current setup. Think the change would work out great for you.
Not currently. The only major one I have an issue with right now is the deadlift. I had powerblocks in the past and while they are fine, I don't like the bulkiness of them. I am reviewing the Iron Masters though. Core did call me before the virus saying they are making a heavier version so I may wait until then. For now, I will work with my current dumbbells. For exercises such as bench press, I am going to switch to weighted push-ups instead and use the plates as extra weights. This may also have more carryover into standard everyday activities (not that I fall down a lot)
I have an old review on a medicine ball I had. However I didn't find it very useful for my home workouts. If you need it for something in particular then go for it. I just had the Amazon basics one that was 10 lbs back in the day.
Not sure. Depending on your height you may need a really tall one. I don't mind bending my knees but I haven't tried any other taller brands up to this point.
In terms of quality, I'd give a 4.5/5 just because the price is pretty high. Bring that down to about $70 and if give it a 5. As other exercises with equipment are included in my training, I can't say my results aare strictly from it, but it has certainly helped.
Would there be any reason NOT to buy the larger edition even if you're shorter? I'm 5'8". I can't really see a reason to not just get the larger edition.
Only reason would be for inverted rows. This is because as the bars get higher off the ground, inverted rows get easier. Other than that, it really won't matter. Maybe stability of the bars themselves? Can't think of anything else though.
I'd go with these at XL (same ones I have in this video). You will need to bend your knees during dips, but I already do that at 5'11". I think parallel is as far as you will be able to go.
That can work. Just make sure they are sturdy and won't fall apart or fall over. I've seen people break their furniture trying it so make sure you are safe.

I'm brand new to this and was really wondering if I should get that product or not. Thank you for the honest and very complete review!
Right now at Lebert website - half off an xl military edition!! With shipping was $79.
Nice!
Thanks for the tip! I had these in my Amazon cart for weeks at full price but wasn't 100% sure. The deal on the website sealed the deal!

I've done leg curls with stationary dip bars at a park. Might work here.
Hmm, we're the ones at the park anchored in the ground? Not sure who's you would curl with these and not have them fall over.
@@GamerBody Yes. Perhaps if one was placed against the wall, your heels/shoes on top, torso under the other in an overhand row position, it might work. Worth a try.
Eh, not sure I trust it being stable enough but maybe. I'd rather just do hip thrusts, split squats or glute bridge (if RDL isn't an option)

Are they stable for weighted dips?
I’m wondering too
They said they hold up to 400 pounds I think
Have you tried the new XXL version?
I have not but I will take a look. I wonder if it is too tall for inverted rows.
What happened to your ultimatebodypress dip station?
Sold that ages ago. While it is a solid overall product, the Lebert Equalizers are far better imo.
How much do you weight ? You ever do dips with added weight ?
I'm 185lbs. Yes, depending on what I am doing I'll add plates from my adjustable dumbbells in a backpack and do them that way.
Do you know any good adjustable versions?
I had the ultimate dip bar station a long time ago, but other than that I have not used any others.
any good bars to do dips with legs out instead of bending knees
Not sure. Depending on your height you may need a really tall one. I don't mind bending my knees but I haven't tried any other taller brands up to this point.
I'm 5'9, and I think they can be a bit short
I'm 5'11" and the XL is a good size for me. You have to bend your knees, but it still works.
I'm 5'11", my wife 5'6", would the xl version be ok or too high for her, or would you recommend an adjustable set of bars.
Should be fine. I actually think it might even be better at 5'6" as your knees won't be able to reach the floor as easily.
@@GamerBody thank you, I have found all of your reviews very helpful and will purchase the xl equalizers straight away!
