The sligs have such great personality they are just so amazing, same with mudokons they are amazing as well and their personalities are great especially Abe
Sligs that don't fall asleep would actually make good pilots since they're so small they can take more high-G turns and stuff since they have less blood in their bodies.
The Flying Sligs are an iconic part the the Oddworld games, in my opinion anyway, I always loved how there were different types of Sligs and the Flying Slig, I guess, was the first one to start this trend! Also, upon rewatching the video before uploading I noticed after taking a closer look at the comparison shot at 1:54 that the Flying Slig as shown in Abe's Exoddus actually has the jet engines used by the Slig from Oddworld: Soulstorm, they're just sort of folded down and not in use, which is interesting....
Agreed, it just suits the industrial style way better I think. :) Like, even in terms of pollution, I can imagine helicopter blades polluting more so than canvas wings.
There was an explosion after that dude asked what smells from what I remember. I do have exoddus on ps1, I'll double check and let you know when I can. It's at my folks house.
They were always my favourite enemy type lol, I would literally possess them and just mess around with the other enemies for a bit in specific places. UA-cam recommending this to me was a surprise, but a welcome one
The beta cutscene for the soda machine turrets are deployed by some sort of aircraft that looks like a VTOL craft possibly the helicopter from The Brutal Ballad of Fangus Klot concept art.
I know this video is older so your not likely to read this at all but I've been watching all your vids in order on my days off Soo. Miniguns don't have recoil due to the system and how it's designed miniguns have no recoil only reason why they aren't used more is because of the power draw and munition cost it take to run the thing.
1:00 then i guess the sligs minigun is maked out of really light materials and is an low calibers like 4mm for make it stable and reduce the recoil as much possible
The more I watch it the more I fall in love with the gluckon vehicles in soulstorm both the airships and the train....monorail thing I don't know what it's classified as
Yeah, that's true, some of the designs are different which is quite interesting.

damn, now i see that the sligs doesnt have nails on their facial faingers anymore either... : \ what a bummer... or maybe they are from Molluck's blimp and all of them lacks face tentacle tips...
im surprised they even had time to redesign the flying sligs like this. it shows with how many remnants of the original flying slig design are in the actual game
A little late but from what I have learned the slig from the cutscene actualy did explode and shake the screen but I dont know why the cutscene dosent show it
my copy of oddysee(ps1) has a program failure. i just can't save the last mudokon/s. back in 1998 my dad had the same problem in paramites nest but he called oddworld inhabitants and got a new game for free... does anyone know this problem...
Man you need to take a breath, and take a step back. your going waaay too deep into lore and fan lore lol. I mean its cool, but its gonna set you up for disappointment. Like people that had all these cool theories about starwars characters like (Snoke) or (Captain Phasma) but they die with 2min of screen time.
True, A LOT of people get way too invested in these kinds of things. xD I know it probably seems like I do because I make so much Oddworld stuff but actually I'm pretty detached from it and don't expect much from it. In fact I almost expect bad stuff from everything now. xD After seeing so many franchises ruined I came up with a rather nihilistic saying 'Everything good seems to exist just so it can be ruined.' But yeah, a lot of people are really invested in Soulstorm, etc, and, like you said, I think a lot will be disappointed. But it's just a game at the end of the day and I personally try to not take anything like that too seriously. :)

I prefer the masks in Odyssey, the sligs seem way more dangerous with that one line than with their googly eyes

The lack of testing would explain the mk.2 design with propellers being too close to the head

Yeah I personally adore the nails on their face fingers, and will continue drawing them like that regardless.
They had nails? :o I can't really see that on their older 3d models... I think their fingers/tentacles were just more... pointy?
