You’re welcome!
Benbough just opened recently. 1 show a day at 2pm
Nice, looking forward to seeing the new show!
Thinking of going soon.
I’m assuming that if i just buy regular tickets, I have to walk the safari park? However, if I add a cart ride then I go into the animals habitats right?
Your ticket includes unlimited rides on the Africa Tram which will take you deep into the African Savana habitat where the animals roam free. If you buy a special tour, depending on which you choose, a guide will take you into the park on a private tour. You will see many of the same animals as the tram but most likely you will be up close or even interact with animals.
If I only have time for one, should I do the safari or the zoo?
If you’re short on time I’d recommend The San Diego Zoo. You’ll see plenty of animals in one day.
That was actually very well put together. I've been visiting the park since the mid 1970's and still do on a regular basis. It's been through a lot of changes but I think you did a great job highlighting the primary areas of interest as well as hitting on a little of the past history. I miss the monorail that went around the perimeter of the valley but the bus-tram tour is okay too.
Thank you it’s great to receive positive feedback from a regular visitor! I’m planning to go back again soon so if you have suggestions for the next video let me know! 🙂
@@Voyagerhq I wish I had some suggestions to make but you did a great job. You got to the point on everything, not dwelling too long, and not being too brief. Too bad the Benbough ampitheater wasn't showing anything on that day. Sometimes you get lucky and the nursery at the Nairobi Walk is open with some new patient visible in the window. Usually this attraction is vacant so it's really down to the luck of timing. I'm glad you mentioned that part about the cheetah run now being an exclusive paid experience. I hate to be cynical but the SDZSP has been turning into Disney lately with former free experiences now being "paid premiums" but I guess that's the way that every park is going now. The monorail was quite a thing to ride back in the day. Michael Crichton cited the San Diego Zoo as an inpiration for Jurassic Park but I often thought he meant ( or umbrella'd ) the Wild Animal Park ( it's original name ) into his description since this was the only domestic zoo with sprawling lands at that time. I hope you have a good time the next time you go. Try any of the individual (premium) safaris. They're pricey but often quite memorable.
@@fifthrider Thank you for the info and suggestions! I will keep them in mind when I visit!
Now here’s a fun fact this was part of the baby genius videos more preferably the animal adventures and it’s mostly saint saens with his carnival of the animals section
If you had to pick the safari or the zoo (with children under 4), which one would you choose?
For young children, I recommend the Zoo. The Wildlife explorer's Basecamp is an amazing 'children's zoo' with new exhibits and play areas, my kids love it. The exhibits at the Zoo are also closer to one another, and it's easier to see many animals in one day. The Safari Park is great but it's very spread out, requiring a lot of walking and it can be hard seeing some of the animals depending on the time of day.
@@Voyagerhq Thank you! This feedback was very helpful! I was tempted to buy the $90 safari ride package so this saves me quite a bit of money haha
San Diego Zoo, we just went to the park and the park is a rip off. Charge $20 for parking too. Your paying a lot of money to walk around a large park. Hardly any animals. They charge more if you want to go out and see more animals closer up. The food prices were really high. The free African tram was a 90 minute wait time and I've seen reviews recalling longer wait times than that.
Is the safari park where you can feed the giraffes?
You can feed the giraffes at the Safari park if you pay for the guided tour. At the San Diego Zoo I believe you can buy food to feed to the giraffes during certain feeding times.
@@Voyagerhq ok thank you!
