      There will be a brand new addition to the elephant area by next year. That would be a great time to visit.

    Hello! Amazing guide video! Very informative! Quick question.. I’ll bring my 70 year old mom there next week. I know she’ll enjoy this but will have a hard time walking the whole park. Will the deluxe wildlife safari be good and enough for her to see a lot of things? What else can you recommend with the deluxe wildlife safari tour? Thank you!

    • @Voyagerhq
      @Voyagerhq  6 місяців тому

      Thank you for your kind words! I'm glad you found the guide informative.
      The Deluxe Wildlife Safari is an excellent choice for your mom. It offers a comprehensive tour of the park, allowing her to see a wide variety of animals without too much walking. The safari vehicle will take you through different habitats, providing close-up views and plenty of photo opportunities.
      In addition to the Deluxe Wildlife Safari, I recommend the Africa Tram: This is a easy way to see the African Plains area of the park. The tram ride offers great views of animals in a naturalistic setting.
      Make sure to check the park's website or contact their guest services for any specific accommodations they can provide to enhance your visit. Enjoy your trip!

      @@Voyagerhq Thank you so much for the immediate response! One more question. Is the 1 day pass required to get with the wildlife safari tours?

    • @Voyagerhq
      @Voyagerhq  6 місяців тому

      @@ploeyramirez5672 To participate in the wildlife safari tours at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park, you need to purchase both a 1-day pass and a separate ticket for the specific safari tour.
      The 1-day pass is the basic admission ticket, which includes access to the Africa Tram and regularly scheduled experiences. However, specialized safari tours like the Deluxe Wildlife Safari require additional tickets.

    Thinking of going soon.
    I’m assuming that if i just buy regular tickets, I have to walk the safari park? However, if I add a cart ride then I go into the animals habitats right?

    • @Voyagerhq
      @Voyagerhq  9 місяців тому +2

      Your ticket includes unlimited rides on the Africa Tram which will take you deep into the African Savana habitat where the animals roam free. If you buy a special tour, depending on which you choose, a guide will take you into the park on a private tour. You will see many of the same animals as the tram but most likely you will be up close or even interact with animals.

    That was actually very well put together. I've been visiting the park since the mid 1970's and still do on a regular basis. It's been through a lot of changes but I think you did a great job highlighting the primary areas of interest as well as hitting on a little of the past history. I miss the monorail that went around the perimeter of the valley but the bus-tram tour is okay too.

      @@Voyagerhq I wish I had some suggestions to make but you did a great job. You got to the point on everything, not dwelling too long, and not being too brief. Too bad the Benbough ampitheater wasn't showing anything on that day. Sometimes you get lucky and the nursery at the Nairobi Walk is open with some new patient visible in the window. Usually this attraction is vacant so it's really down to the luck of timing. I'm glad you mentioned that part about the cheetah run now being an exclusive paid experience. I hate to be cynical but the SDZSP has been turning into Disney lately with former free experiences now being "paid premiums" but I guess that's the way that every park is going now. The monorail was quite a thing to ride back in the day. Michael Crichton cited the San Diego Zoo as an inpiration for Jurassic Park but I often thought he meant ( or umbrella'd ) the Wild Animal Park ( it's original name ) into his description since this was the only domestic zoo with sprawling lands at that time. I hope you have a good time the next time you go. Try any of the individual (premium) safaris. They're pricey but often quite memorable.

    • @Voyagerhq
      @Voyagerhq  Рік тому +3

      If you’re short on time I’d recommend The San Diego Zoo. You’ll see plenty of animals in one day.

    Is the safari park where you can feed the giraffes?

    • @Voyagerhq
      @Voyagerhq  9 місяців тому

      You can feed the giraffes at the Safari park if you pay for the guided tour. At the San Diego Zoo I believe you can buy food to feed to the giraffes during certain feeding times.

    DO YOU HAVE ANY IMPALAS THERE ?

    • @Voyagerhq

      Yes, there are impalas at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park! You can find them in the East Africa exhibit, the African Forest exhibit, and the park's savanna habitats!

    If you had to pick the safari or the zoo (with children under 4), which one would you choose?

    • @Voyagerhq
      @Voyagerhq  Рік тому +1

      For young children, I recommend the Zoo. The Wildlife explorer's Basecamp is an amazing 'children's zoo' with new exhibits and play areas, my kids love it. The exhibits at the Zoo are also closer to one another, and it's easier to see many animals in one day. The Safari Park is great but it's very spread out, requiring a lot of walking and it can be hard seeing some of the animals depending on the time of day.

      San Diego Zoo, we just went to the park and the park is a rip off. Charge $20 for parking too. Your paying a lot of money to walk around a large park. Hardly any animals. They charge more if you want to go out and see more animals closer up. The food prices were really high. The free African tram was a 90 minute wait time and I've seen reviews recalling longer wait times than that.
