On one hand, you have a Merc which every bloke and his dog has and will see plenty on the road each week and then there is the Alfa which will be much more rare, underrated compared to the Germans and over and over has said to be the most sporty drive in the segment. Alfa it is
I love Alfas and I currently drive a Giulietta 1750 QV so I might sound slightly biased, but, in saying that , the Stelvio sounds better, the style in and out flows and sculptured beautifully and artfully as a supermodel. The Mercedes is, well, just a car, the dash has too much bling and that tablet is so out of place and an eyesore, the airvents are boy racer style and a no-no in this price category. The Alfa is awesome. Period.
You can’t get cooled rear seats in the Mercedes GLC. Mercedes repeats the same heated and cooled seat buttons for the front seats and uses them for rear seats. So Mercedes purposely gives shoppers a blank button that you can’t option up to fill.
This is a good comparison with the styles and sizes of suvs but a more fair comparison would be the 63s because that’s the top model and that would compete with the top Alfa horsepower range. The s is a little stiffer and tweaked even more for track. The normal 63 is mainly just the biggest engine in the lineup and some minor suspension stuff. Just my opinion
Test drove an Alfa Stelvio Ti Sport. I realize the hp difference is a wide margin, but the interior quality in my opinion was on the cheap side and ride quality was terrible. I will say the Stelvio looks really good in person and the steering is very nice. Coming from a Porsche Macan S and now have a BMW X3 m40i, I still say Porsche is the top dog for all around performance and fun factor. The BMW x3 m40i or Mercedes AMG GLC is probably next, then Alfa when factoring in overall quality, performance and reliability for me.
id go with the mercedes... i like the looks of the front of the alfa more but i like the exterior shape, interior and exhaust noise of the mercedes alot more
I believe the real reason why people buy the alfa is that not too many others have the sports SUV, it's not as common as the Mercedes SUV. its also something fresh.
I tried to like the Stelvio but its interior is not better than CX-5 and and the numb feel of its brake by wire system completely turned me away from the car
@Ricky Holmes stupid analogy. Flying spur cost 10x as much as focus. A CX-5 GT cost 32k and you can get Stelvio for 35k with Alfa's huge discount. go sit in both car and drive them and you will know why.
@@Nestle245 It's not, not even by a mile, the guy is obviously an moron. Just look at his UA-cam channel, he pranks people by doing things that a 12 year old child would find funny.
I'm in complete agreement. The fact that the CX-5 can even come close to competing with a car that is normally way out of its price segment shows how badly Alfa needs to step up their game.
The alfa is new and I'm a super hige merc fan but i would take the alfa because its unique but overall i would never have the alfa as a daily driver the benz is better so much bias comments
cool cars for the ultra rich--if you can afford either of these, just bump it a little and get something in the 225 and up range where you are less likely to be embarassed by a copy at the club...
Neither of them ...still would take a sport sedan. These can't even go well in a tough off road adventure, for a non family guy like me there's really no point buying these cars and NO MONEY also lol.
Alfa Romeo owners have always had , love hate , relationship with there cars .That has to do with there quirks and reliability . Therefore I would take the MB even though I know it's not like a Toyota.
Not a fan of the Alfa Romeo looks. I just don’t think the design looks good at all. The amg is a much better looking car and a simple tune will make the car a lot better.
Forget the alfa (Chrysler part sharing) making a return to the US,the New Suzuki Jimny (Samurai) “for all you so-called enthusiasts that don’t know”,should make it back to the US.
Ricky Holmes I was only hoping because I saw the Suzuki Jimny (Samurai) & it looks really good for off roading fun.My folks have a place in the Caribbean but it wouldn’t make sense if I bought it for over there when I only go there once every couple years. Hope Suzuki will change their minds for one last push.
@@penvon did you actually read the article you posted? "other FCA brands will USE Alfa's rear-wheel/all-wheel-drive platform" "Dodge would use a lower-cost version of the platform as a basis for the next Charger performance sedan, Challenger sports car, Journey midsize SUV and Durango large SUV. It could also underpin a new Dodge midsize car based on the Giulia as well as the next Chrysler 300C. Maserati would use an upgraded version of the platform on all its models, including the next Quattroporte and Ghibli sedans, GranTurismo and Alfieri sports cars and possibly for a midsize SUV to sit below the Levante, " Nothing about AR using Chrysler\Dodge parts.
Ur so biased look how the Mercedes passenger seat pushed all the way back behind the side pillar to show there isn’t much space difference between it and the Alfa
Launch control is a gimmick car co's make for goofy YT reviewers to moan to. This guy's not the only, nor the first I've seen do this. Back to reality, we're all using LC for freeway onramps in peak morning and afternoon drivetime.... NOT.
I dont know whos idea it was to glue an ipad to the top of the dash..complete garbage, ,and its in a ton of cars now..biggest eye sore on any new car who does it..new 2020 jag xe interior is a true interior.. good reviews,,watch them all the time..
As an owner of the Giulia QV, I would kindly disagree. I have the Stelvio Ti as well and would want the Stelvio QV as it is more practical as a daily driver.
Suv... a real one. For example??? Suv .. S for Sport... so what? The Hammer 😂😂? Range Rover? BMW X5 or Volvo or american Ford like a Tir? 😂 .. Stelvio is real Sport Utility Vehicle. Or Lamborghini Urus may be. In German the Stelvio QV is the best Suv of the year for AutoZeitung. In German! Record of speed on Nurburgring's circuit.
It's really not true. Ranked higher than ALL of the German brands in WhatCar. 5 th overall. New models always have kinks. The 2018 models have been great.
Don't see the reason to buy any of those. In my eyes those are only two overpriced, gas eating, and unreliable wastes of aluminum with cheap plastic electronics inside that rub off after 3 years. Sport sedan killers? Nah. I would actually be embarrassed to drive in one of these soccer mom hatchbacks as they are neither good for terrain or for sports. Real sports car enthusiasts DO NOT drive these shit-fashioned SUVs.
Real car enthusiasts DO appreciate whatever they damn well please. Enthusiasts get to do that. That's kinda the point. You're just too biased to accept performance SUVs can hold up against any of your precious sedans. Get used to it.
I love that alfa romeo!
I love that Alfa Romeo inside and out but gotta give the exhaust note award to that AMG.
Redline Review is the best and most informative car channel ever. Keep up the great work
aayan goverski love his reviews. Sometimes I worry if he’ll ever stop for a minute and take a breather. 😂
I was also a bit hesitant clicking on this video for a few reasons that’s I’ll not mention...But glad I did, good review of vehicles I won’t ever buy.
Then theres Doug
Except his inaccurate data
Stelvio all the way, though i'd much rather the Giulia.
this understands exactly how driving experience should be done
and chose the alfa.
I love this vehicle segment so much! Thanks for making this amazing content!

Driven both...buying Stelvio QV! If you are a driver, you will too!
Steve S. Lol wow
Steve Please tell me how to make money to purchase GLC 63. Thank You.
I’m surprised the Alpha doesn’t overheat given how small the front opening is and the horsepower it boasts.
You can’t get cooled rear seats in the Mercedes GLC. Mercedes repeats the same heated and cooled seat buttons for the front seats and uses them for rear seats. So Mercedes purposely gives shoppers a blank button that you can’t option up to fill.
the Mercedes sounds better to my ears can't go wrong with a V8
I love the Romeo
The alpha Romeo looks so much better
It's Alfa
IMHo bens. ALpha looks like a angry Owl :P
Nice honest knowledgeable review. I own the Stelvio and recently drove the GLC and couldn’t agree with you more. I will stick with my Stelvio 🤗
Love the GLC AMG 63 look.

I would be honored to drive a Ferrari sourced v6 for a fraction
Alfa Romeo 👍👍👍😍
interesting review. I would go with the mercedes though. Dont know about the alfa romeo
I like em both but I’m going with the benzito !
Thanks for picking the Alfa.I will too.
2018 Mercedes AMG GLC63 SUV has better launch control than the 2018 Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadriglio🤩💕🚙⛽️

love both

The paddle doesn’t get in the way of my turn signal in my Giulia or my wife’s stelvio
Damned SUVs'
can’t wait for new X3/X4M
Thank you Redline Review because it is great idea you have think to do cars review.good bless you.
i’ll take that AMG any day !
The GLC 63 puts out 503hp 516lb-ft of torque also the wheels are 21" not 20's.
I prefer the Alfa Romeo Stelvio QV
I believe the real reason why people buy the alfa is that not too many others have the sports SUV, it's not as common as the Mercedes SUV. its also something fresh.
Can you make 2019 BMW X5 review please your videos is awesome appreciated so much!
Great job
The Alfa ROCKS!!!!!
It's a tough choice.
i love stelvio QV ! But I finally buying a glc63s coupe
and pickup next week.
btw thanks for your video :)
That Mercedes exhaust blew the Alf out the water. Both nice though.
The GLC is getting a new interior soon tho and a much better system as in most models now...
Not a big Mercedes guy but between these two MB hands down.
Where did you film video? Beautiful area.
The temperature gage in the AMG sure is high
The right choice! 👍

why drag race the V6 to the V8?
This should have been a triple play with the new Maserati 👍
The Maserati can be compared with the GLE and the Cayenne, which are bigger. A new smaller Levante is coming in 2020
EARLY SQUAD WHERE U AT???
I will say that in a different color the AMG will have way better exterior look and presence.
May be in black. Alfa Romeo instead is beautiful and aggressive also in pink.

These vehicles are pretty darned expensive. These are for moneyed enthusiasts only.
So
"Zf sourced transmission" on the Alfa? The same ZF that is part of the Acura class-action lawsuits due to failing transmissions?
That's for the ZF 9 speed. The 8 speed is what's in the Alfa and many other premium performance vehicles.
Not the same dude, not even close the 2nd gen ZF 8 has been a fantastic transmission.
My vote goes to Mercedes 👌

AMG 😍😍💖 best or nothing
so i got nothing 😢
the legroom & comfort of rear seats of SUVs is just horrible if you compared to sedan

AMG!
Bro its still a 63s just not the coupe
Alfa power !
Alfa looks like a Falcon
I think mercedes will last longer in terms of transmission.
I highly doubtful, the ZF8 has proven to be reliable.
Mercedes and reliable, they never go together...
True
GLC 63 would be my choice - Coupe version though. Alfa seems too cheap in the interior materials.
I'll take the Alfa.
The back of the GLC looks like a crushed and squeezed Porsche
I'll take a Giulia QV or C63 AMG over these lumpy things any day of the week.
As an owner of the Giulia QV, I would kindly disagree. I have the Stelvio Ti as well and would want the Stelvio QV as it is more practical as a daily driver.
I like the Mercedes better
Mercedes still has that ugly aftermarket Costco iPad as the center console. Alfa Romeo's rear end is cheap looking like a Mazda or Kia suv.
Put the Alfa’s wheels on the Mercedes. That’s all it would take for me to take the Merc.
..put the engine directly.
alfa interior reminds me of mazda...
Smoke another one!
“Only 469 horsepower” 🙄
Looks like Merc is going with shiny, plastiky Cadillac dash. Sad.
I see from the camera that alfa is more rommy than mercedes

Alfa
Mercedes Benz sounded better
I will always take The Alfa. Merc is a brand that does nothing for me.

AMG for me. If I'm paying that kind of money I want quality and performance, not just performance. And Alfa's reliability is scary, not just spotty.

First
nah I'l just wait for lexus's response to this. Japanese= reliability, lexus = awsome
you’ll be waiting a long time for that one😂
The Alfa sounds horrible in that clip compared to the MB.
Sounds way better in person, but yes the V8 in the Mercedes is one of the best sounding V8's out there.
