- WHAT EVERY MAN NEEDS TO KNOW ABOUT DHT AND HAIR LOSS
"After the age of 18, male pattern hair loss will realistically kick in. It's when testosterone begins to peak after puberty that testosterone will convert to dihydrotestosterone in abundance. So, let's say you're 18 years old and your total testosterone is 1000, your DHT level on a blood test is probably around 40. Over time, DHT levels will actually increase. Genetically speaking, as males age, their propensity for increasing DHT levels also increases. Ironically, there is an inverse relationship as males will end up having less testosterone, but more testosterone is being converted into dihydrotestosterone."

DHT should be banned.
Inject more estrogen 😅
I heard it is what is incharge of men's sexual characteristics development e.g growth of the pen!s
It is more potent than Testosterone and lowers estrogen. It's like you saying ban Dopamine. You won't function as a human without it dumbf.
You're mistaken. The cock that you have it's growth is due to dht. Dht increases cock size, girth during puberty. It is very essential hormone for mental health, strength, virility, and maintenance of libido. Although testosterone is high but it's less potent due to less receptor affinity. Dht is not the bad guy here. it's your follicles' sensitivity and crappy genetics to blame.
I quit taking fin. Side effects resolved in 2 to 3 months, and hair loss resumed as expected.
After 18? My hair thinning started at 14, but i guess everybody’s different.

Me too but I found it, it's because of vitamin deficiency
@@Gan562 what about now?
I find older generation have more hair than todays younger men. Does this mean that the conversion to DHT happening more in men today than before. Why does this happen and what can be done.
Thats probably due to the fact that today's generation is has been exposed to more environmental toxins (including the toxins passed on during pregnancy). Those toxins ate estrogenic.
Hight Stress physical and emotional
Atrazine in the water
Too much sexual thoughts increases testosterone and then results high level of DHT....
Lacl of viramin D3 most probably
To stop my hair fall, I started using a smooth silk pillowcase to sleep on. I also applied liittlleextra coconiion shampoo and lightweight hair oil. These changes helped me lose fewer hair. After a few months of applying them daily, my strands stopped falling out totally.
An important info that no body have heard of it, Thanks doctor !
many people know about this lol what are u talking about ?
@@AlternativeStrings i dare you if they told you that 5 alpha reductase increase as you age..All of them say the opposite
For people who are going noticeably bald in early-to-mid 20s, they often time probably start losing hair around age 16. It’s just so gradual and subtle so you don’t think about it at the time. Like I didn’t hop on Fin/Min until 23, but looking at pictures I definitely have less hair in the front when I was 19 than when I was 15.

So what if after 18, or 20 say you use a DHT blocker, would it technically be keeping you're testosterone higher as you age?
So you can have high dht and low testosterone at the same time?
So if a man in their 50s are on finasteride and blocking the DHT conversion, does that mean they have more testosterone vs the same age male not on finasteride??
Temporarily, yes
Hey doctor my first dht test was 33 with 900 testosterone 5 months later on a natural dht blocker it’s 49 with 514 testosterone . I take 5mg minoxidil and hair is growing fine
How do you take minoxidil
what is the dht BLOCKER you are taking ?
You should probably have more testosterone and fore sure less DHT. Monoxidil alone is not a DHT blocker. You probably are taking an antiandrogen that lowers your Testosterone also which You should stop(what I understood from Derek MPMD channel)
@@dragosh6488minoxidil doesn't lower aniandrogen/testosterone in blood if u didn't intake it
How can I contact you doctor?
So someone with androgenetic alopecia, higher testosterone level leads to higher Dht so if we somehow lower our testosterone level it will cause lower dht levels ?
No, from what I learned testosterone does to a human body, lowering your dht will help, not the other way around, so the more you are able to use your testosterone in a matter that body calls for it will ultimately lower dht as it converts test to dht.
Don't intentionally lower either
Hello Doctor, I am a young man, I am twenty-five years old, and I have a problem with the growth of chin hair. I used Minoxidil spray for three months and got good results. I did not have hair in the chin area at all, but after After three months of using Minoxidil, my face began to have very red pimples and severe redness, so I stopped using Minoxidil, and all of this happened from the previous year and until now, my beard hair still maintains what it was
I hope you, doctor, find a solution for me immediately, because my beard hair is thin and there are some gaps in it, and I want to thicken my beard hair, and I cannot go back to using Minoxidil. Note that I used Minoxidil foam and it caused redness and severe sensitivity in my face.I hope for your response.
25 isn't young 😂
What does it mean ?! Is there a treatment that you recommend to solve the problem of beard hair growth? I sometimes feel depressed because of this thing. How I hope to find a solution to this problem.@@mauriciosolano9342

Doctor do you have hair fall ? Like genetic ones ?
After 5 month of hair transplant now i m facing old hair loss 30-40 is it normal?
Doctor suggest me test of DHT and vitamin d3,b12 is it necessary?
You need to make sure all your blood work solid, so yes that is necessary

Doctor please make video of natural dht blocker food
My hair started thinning when I'm 18 but it trigger faster when I dye my hair
Why you ain't bald then?
Studies show DHT is actually lower as we get older. This is not true.
But what DHT does to our body that is important? if we reduce DHT leves with 5-a blockers what are the drawbacks?
nope dht is a trash hormone if your dht is high you are prone to prostate cancer there is no balance testosterone must be higher than dht is like 80/20 or 90/10
Yup not much
As an adult, nothing that normal T can’t do
got male patter baldeness from 14🤣
I know the feeling man😢
So higher testosterone is the reason or what?
DHT (dihydrotestosterone) is a hormone that plays a significant role in hair loss, especially in cases of male and female pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia). However, it's not necessarily higher testosterone levels that cause hair loss; rather, it's the sensitivity of hair follicles to DHT that matters.
Here's how it works:
Testosterone: Testosterone is a male sex hormone present in both men and women, although it's typically at higher levels in men. Testosterone is converted into DHT in the body through an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase.
DHT Sensitivity: In individuals with a genetic predisposition to hair loss, hair follicles on the scalp may be more sensitive to the effects of DHT. When DHT binds to receptors in these sensitive hair follicles, it can lead to a process known as miniaturization.
Miniaturization: Miniaturization is the gradual shrinking of hair follicles under the influence of DHT. As hair follicles miniaturize, the hair they produce becomes finer and shorter. Eventually, these follicles may stop producing visible hair altogether, leading to hair thinning and baldness.
So, it's not necessarily the absolute level of testosterone that causes hair loss, but rather the interaction between testosterone and the genetically predisposed sensitivity of hair follicles to DHT. This is why hair loss patterns can vary among individuals and why not everyone with high testosterone levels experiences significant hair loss.

Can you explain why my blood tests showed very high total and free testosterone, but my dht was 102 in the range of 12-65, which is crazy high, but I have experienced no hair loss. I’m also 30 years old.
Yes… It’s very simple. You are genetically blessed with no male pattern baldness gene.
@@WilliamGaunitzTrichologistyou see doc, I'm really unsatisfied with that response because it doesn't quench the thirst for understanding how some men who have dht converted by 5ar that supposedly attach to the androgen receptors in the scalp and thus not causing hair follicle miniaturisation.
Test>5ar>Dht>androgen receptors in scalp> Hair loss
I appreciate "it's genetics bro" to an extent, but I would like some real insight please.
For example, do these men not have androgen receptors in their scalp? Or do they have an uninterrupted biochemical chain that leads to androgenic alopecia but the determining factor is a genetic code that somehow doesn't allow miniaturisation of the scalp hair follicles?
@@TheOnlineMarketbro this is exactly what i ask every derm and they can’t seem to answer it 😭
@@TheOnlineMarketfrom what i’ve heard i think it’s because the hair follicles are less sensitive to dht, which is purely genetic
@@TheOnlineMarketThere are two (2) main factors needed for hair loss:
1. DHT
2. The gene 🧬 that actually reacts with DHT, at the hair follicle level, and causes the eventual thinning of hair.
Everything you you mention in your argument is correct as far as DHT and it’s andro receptors go, but you STILL need the gene 🧬 that binds with DHT, at the andro receptor sites, to cause the thinning of hair.
So the doctor is technically correct.
You can have high levels of DHT, have all the androgen receptors in the world, but if you’re missing that gene 🧬- then you get no hair loss.
The missing of that gene 🧬 is very predominant in indigenous people (native Americans for example), which explains why indigenous people genetically tend to keep their hair.
Does high testosterone leads to hair loss ??
High levels of testosterone on their own are not a direct cause of hair loss. However, a specific hormone derived from testosterone, called dihydrotestosterone (DHT), can play a significant role in male pattern baldness and, to some extent, in female pattern hair loss. Here's how it works:
DHT and Hair Loss: In individuals with a genetic predisposition to hair loss, the hair follicles in certain areas (typically at the front, top, or crown of the scalp) are sensitive to DHT. When DHT attaches to these follicles, it can lead to a process called miniaturization. This process causes the affected hair follicles to become smaller, producing finer and shorter hair strands. Over time, these follicles may stop producing hair altogether.
Hormonal Imbalance: While testosterone itself is not the primary issue, imbalances in hormones, such as an increase in DHT levels, can contribute to hair loss. These imbalances can be influenced by genetics, age, and other factors.
Other Factors: Hair loss is a complex issue influenced by multiple factors, including genetics, hormones, age, and sometimes underlying medical conditions. It's not solely determined by testosterone or DHT levels.
If you're concerned about hair loss and its potential link to hormonal imbalances, it's advisable to consult a healthcare provider or dermatologist who specializes in hair and scalp health. They can evaluate your specific situation, conduct necessary tests, and provide guidance on available treatments and management options.
Additionally, addressing lifestyle factors, such as stress management, a balanced diet, and a gentle hair care routine, can also contribute to overall hair health.

@@WilliamGaunitzTrichologist but how can I reduce my testosterone and dht levels
Just noticed my hair thinning im 23 and im panicking
Older guys have more hair then younger cuz of the shit we eat today its no good watch what you eat it will do more then just keep your hair
The day you decide to just buzz it is the beginning of the rest of your life.
Half of men will have to deal with this, handle it like a man.
What i have realised that there mayybe .. maybe two states of dht ..one like an enraged Roided boy who goes haywire in whole body when faces inflammation due to chronic atress and refined sugars etc.. and the other is the normal state that sustains for actual usuage that is gonad development , bone size , maturity in voice
So the solution is controlling inflammation by good diet , good mindset and overall good lifestyle.

started losing mine at 16 n havent had a clue why until recently this is bull shit i thought test was a good thing😢😂😂
