Hey William i am facing hair loss since the past 6 years but the matter of the fact is that no one in my family is bald nor my father side nor my mother side. Actually i am facing hair loss from my crown , side parts and my back can you suggest me what to do ?

    • @WilliamGaunitzTrichologist

Hair loss can be distressing, especially when there’s no family history of baldness. Since you’re experiencing hair loss from the crown, sides, and back, it suggests that the issue might not be typical androgenetic alopecia (male-pattern baldness), which usually starts at the temples and crown. There could be several factors at play, and here’s what you might consider:
      1. Identify Potential Causes
Telogen Effluvium: This condition causes diffuse hair thinning across the scalp and can be triggered by stress, nutritional deficiencies, hormonal imbalances, or recent illnesses. It’s often temporary but can last for several months.
Alopecia Areata: An autoimmune condition that causes patchy hair loss. It can affect any part of the scalp and sometimes other areas of the body.
Nutritional Deficiencies: Deficiencies in vitamins and minerals like iron, vitamin D, B vitamins, and zinc can lead to hair loss.
Scalp Conditions: Issues like seborrheic dermatitis, psoriasis, or fungal infections can also cause hair loss in the areas you’ve mentioned.
Lifestyle Factors: Stress, lack of sleep, poor diet, or harsh hair treatments can contribute to hair loss.
      2. Consult a Trichologist or Dermatologist
Professional Evaluation: Since your hair loss pattern is unusual and doesn’t match the typical genetic baldness pattern, it’s important to get a professional diagnosis. A trichologist or dermatologist can perform a scalp examination, blood tests, and possibly a scalp biopsy to determine the underlying cause.
      3. Lifestyle and Dietary Adjustments
Balanced Diet: Ensure you’re eating a diet rich in proteins, vitamins (especially vitamin D and B vitamins), and minerals like zinc and iron. These nutrients are vital for healthy hair growth.
Reduce Stress: Chronic stress can significantly impact hair health. Techniques such as meditation, regular exercise, and adequate sleep can help manage stress levels.
Gentle Hair Care: Avoid harsh hair treatments, excessive heat styling, or tight hairstyles that could be contributing to hair breakage and loss.
      4. Topical and Oral Treatments
Minoxidil: Over-the-counter minoxidil (Rogaine) can help stimulate hair growth, especially on the crown area. It’s worth discussing with your healthcare provider to see if it’s suitable for your condition.
Prescription Medications: Depending on the cause, your doctor might suggest medications like finasteride for androgenetic alopecia, or other treatments if an autoimmune condition is suspected.
      5. Consider Hair Supplements
Hair Growth Supplements: Products containing biotin, saw palmetto, or other hair-supportive nutrients might be beneficial. However, it’s important to use them under the guidance of a healthcare professional to ensure they’re appropriate for your specific needs.
      6. Regular Follow-up
Monitor Progress: Hair loss treatments take time, often several months before you see noticeable results. Regular follow-up with your healthcare provider can help track progress and make any necessary adjustments.
Your situation is unique since you don’t have a family history of baldness, so a thorough evaluation by a specialist is the best starting point. Addressing the underlying cause will be key to finding the right treatment and potentially reversing or managing your hair loss.

How do I eat an artichoke?

    • @WilliamGaunitzTrichologist
      @WilliamGaunitzTrichologist  Місяць тому

Eating an artichoke can seem a bit tricky at first, but it's a delicious experience once you know how! Here’s a step-by-step guide to enjoy this flavorful vegetable:
      ---
      ### **Step 1: Cook the Artichoke**
Artichokes need to be cooked before eating. Popular methods include **steaming**, **boiling**, **roasting**, or using a pressure cooker.
      - **Steaming**: Place the artichoke in a steamer basket over boiling water. Cover and steam for **25-45 minutes** (depending on size) until the outer leaves pull away easily.
      - **Boiling**: Submerge in salted boiling water for **30-40 minutes** until tender.
      - **Roasting**: Halve the artichoke, brush with olive oil, and roast at **400°F (200°C)** for **30-45 minutes**.
      - **Pressure Cooker**: Cook for about **10-15 minutes**.
**Tip**: To prepare the artichoke for cooking, trim the sharp tips of the leaves with kitchen scissors and cut off the stem to create a flat base.
      ---
      ### **Step 2: Eating the Leaves**
      1. **Pull Off a Leaf**: Start with the outermost leaves and work your way inward.
      2. **Dip (Optional)**: Dip the leaf in a sauce like melted butter, aioli, or vinaigrette for added flavor.
      3. **Scrape the Meat**:
      - Place the base of the leaf (the part attached to the artichoke) between your teeth.
      - Gently bite down and pull the leaf through your teeth to scrape off the tender, edible portion.
      - Discard the rest of the leaf.
      ---
      ### **Step 3: Reach the Heart**
      1. **Remove the Inner Leaves**:
      - As you get closer to the center, the leaves will become more tender and less meaty.
      - Pull these off and set them aside if they’re too small to scrape.
      2. **Scoop Out the Choke**:
      - Underneath the inner leaves, you’ll find a fuzzy layer called the **choke**.
      - Use a spoon to carefully scoop out the choke, which is inedible.
      3. **Enjoy the Heart**:
      - The heart is the most tender and flavorful part of the artichoke.
      - Slice it into pieces and eat it as is, or dip it in your favorite sauce.
      ---
      ### **Tips for a Great Artichoke Experience**
      - **Choosing a Good Artichoke**: Look for one that feels heavy for its size, with tightly closed leaves.
      - **Flavorful Dips**: Common accompaniments include garlic butter, mayonnaise, balsamic vinaigrette, or lemon aioli.
      - **Don’t Waste the Stem**: If the stem is tender, peel and cook it-it’s similar in taste to the heart.
      ---
      ### **Key Takeaway**
Eating an artichoke is a hands-on, layered experience. Start by enjoying the leaf bases, work your way to the tender inner leaves, and savor the prized heart at the center. Pair with a delicious dip for maximum enjoyment! 😊✨

Moringa goods for hair or not?

    • @WilliamGaunitzTrichologist
      @WilliamGaunitzTrichologist  3 місяці тому

Hey! 🌿 Yes, Moringa is actually great for your hair! It’s packed with vitamins A, B, and C, plus minerals like zinc and iron, which are all super important for healthy hair growth.
      Here’s why it’s good:
      - **Vitamin A** helps produce sebum (your scalp’s natural oil), keeping it moisturized.
      - **Vitamin B** boosts hair strength and thickness.
      - **Iron** helps with circulation, meaning better oxygen for your hair follicles.
Plus, Moringa is rich in antioxidants that can fight off free radicals, which might contribute to hair damage or thinning. So, adding Moringa to your diet or using it in hair products can definitely be a nice boost! 💪

Can you please speak about how to grow a beard

    • @WilliamGaunitzTrichologist
      @WilliamGaunitzTrichologist  5 місяців тому

Growing a beard can be influenced by genetics, hormones, and overall health, but there are several strategies you can use to encourage beard growth:
Maintain a Healthy Diet: A balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals supports hair growth. Focus on protein, biotin (found in eggs, nuts, and seeds), and vitamins A, C, D, and E. Omega-3 fatty acids and zinc are also beneficial.
Proper Skincare: Cleanse and exfoliate your skin regularly to remove dead skin cells and promote healthy hair follicles. Moisturize your skin to keep it hydrated and support hair growth.
Regular Exercise: Exercise boosts circulation, which helps deliver nutrients to hair follicles. It also increases testosterone levels, which can promote facial hair growth.
Manage Stress: High stress levels can negatively impact hair growth. Practices like meditation, yoga, or deep breathing can help manage stress.
Use Beard Oils and Balms: Beard oils and balms can condition the beard hair and skin beneath, reducing itchiness and promoting healthier hair growth.
Be Patient: Beard growth can take time, especially if you're just starting out. It can take several weeks to a few months to see significant growth, so patience is key.
Consider Supplements: If you're struggling with patchy growth or slow progress, supplements like biotin, vitamin D, and omega-3 fatty acids may help. However, consult with a healthcare provider before starting any new supplement.
Hormonal Factors: For those with naturally low testosterone, addressing this (if medically advised) can be a factor. Always consult a doctor before considering any hormone-related treatments.
Consistency is crucial in following these steps to achieve the best results in growing a beard.

You said that natural pathway is much more better but don't you think that 1300mg natural extract dht blocker 2-2 tablets is a overdose?
And by tapering the fina dose can I shift to natural dht blocker and how long I have to take the supplement?
