    Great review mate. I really appreciate your tips about length and volume. I've been struggling with figuring out what length to buy in line with my size and weight, so you really helped. I too would prefer a bit more foam underneath me as I am an older dude who would prefer ease of paddle. Cheers

      Stoked you like the review! Indeed an extra few litres of foam is usually a good call - especially on a smaller wave board like the HP. I was surprised at how well this board paddle so I'm sure you'll enjoy it. The Seaside & Beyond is also another board to look into though - the 6'8 is soooooo much fun and surprisingly manoeuvrable too!

    Nice review man!
    Get some reactors or some Hayden Shapes fins and you’ll love it more as they are a bit more vert and are perfect with small wave boards.
    I don’t leave home without them;)

    You seem to have all the boards I'm interested in! How would you compare the puddle jumper HP to your mashup? Thinking of downsizing my quiver and potentially just picking one of these two in 5'8 to replace my spitfire 5'10, chubby chedda 5'11 and unibrow 6'0. For waist to overhead UK south west surf. Alternatively I might keep the unibrow and go for a 5'6 seaside.

      Hahaha seems like you have good taste in boards 😜 I’d say for Devon and Cornwall breaks the Mashup would be the way forward, but you wouldn’t go wrong with the PJHP either. 🤙

    Thanks for the review! I watched this one and the mf little marley. I'm considering the little marley and the og puddle jumper for my next board. Which would you recommend for a progressing beginner surfing in 1-4 ft shore breaks?

      @StokedForTravel  3 роки тому +1

      Stoked you liked both reviews Justin! Hmmm that’s a tough call and really comes down to where your surfing is at to be honest. If you’ve only just started and you’re not on unbroken waves yet, go for the MF. If you’ve already progressed to unbroken waves and basic turns then I’d either go Puddle Jumper (potentially in a slightly longer size) or a Mid Length 🤙

      @@StokedForTravel I'm 5'5, 154lbs intermediate holiday surfer..looking for a puddle jumper hp in 5'8, a MR x lost california twin in 5'8 or a dominator D2. Waves are on the weak side. What would you suggest?

  • @ozvideo2501
    @ozvideo2501 Рік тому +1

    Hello I have the puddle jumper hp in 5'8. The floater are very easy but I think the tail is so large and the cut back are difficult. Do you have the same problem? Thanks

    • @StokedForTravel
      @StokedForTravel  Рік тому

      I’ve been surfing mine as a thruster setup which certainly loosens the tail up more than a quad fin setup - what fins are you riding it with?

    • @ozvideo2501
      @ozvideo2501 Рік тому +1

      I ride the board thruster with fcs2 performer. I have the 5'8 for 80 kg. Perhaps it's work better with other fins. I can do the cut back but not fast like my classic shortboard.

    • @StokedForTravel
      @StokedForTravel  Рік тому

      @@ozvideo2501 yeah with the tail shape it's certainly not going to be as quick/easy to do a big cutback, but that's the trade off for a small wave board unfortunately

    Hey bud i am looking at a 6 6 puddle jumper hp or the dominator 2. which board paddles easier in waist to head high surf ?

    • @StokedForTravel
      @StokedForTravel  3 роки тому

      Hey Conrad! If you’re looking at 6’6 in both options the Puddle Jumper is going to have a slight advantage with a bit more width and volume, which will also make it slightly more forgiving to surf as well. However the D2 will give you a lot more performance, and will handle bigger surf much better 🤙

      @@StokedForTravel cheers - have you tried the CI ultra Joe? Its between one of these three boards!

    • @StokedForTravel
      @StokedForTravel  3 роки тому

      @@Surfandmusicequipmentreviews unfortunately I havent ridden one of those yet. Having looked at the spec though it does look like a good grovellor, but from the outline it doesnt seem as though it'll have the performance of the other two - so I guess it depends on your surf level and what you want to achieve with the board 🤙

    I’m currently on a fish board. Do you think the PJHP would be a good starter shortboard? Or the regular PJ?

    • @StokedForTravel
      @StokedForTravel  2 роки тому +1

      For sure it would be an epic choice! I’d certainly go HP over original if that’s what you’re looking for, it’ll be a lot more shortboard feel 🤙
