Beginners jazz course? Yes, please!
Your recent beginner jazz lesson videos have been amazing. Been practicing every day. Most fun I've had on guitar for years. Getting these arpeggio exercises down will keep me busy for some time. Thank you as always.
Wow. You make every type of music achievable. The best teacher I've seen on UA-cam!
Easy to understand and straight forward, let me practice...❤
Great jazz lesson Adrian. Very helpful. You are one of the very good tube instructors and I thank you . …from the USA lower plains!
Mmm that's Niice!!
Ageing yourself with that Fast Show ref boss.
(Ageing me too...)
love your style of guitar teaching! BOOM!
excellent lesson as always. thank you.
Such a great lesson, Adrian; thank you! 'Autumn Leaves' is a wonderful way to introduce a musician, especially one who is early in their learning process, to jazz. It was one of the first jazz songs I approached on guitar, and I'm still learning it. It's also the kind of song that someone with a lot of experience and skill can use as a springboard into some great improv.
Nice color Virge!! I love this guitar.
Jazz! “Niiice”
Great lesson! 👍🍷
It always comes down to putting the time in.
Always top shelf, well done.
Always great!! Thanks
Thanks for all your wonderful lessons Adrian! Always a pleasure getting your insights and tips.
Just to say thanks for the whole channel Adrian. Your approach is very engaging and your taste in song choices is very refreshing. You make theory enjoyable and accessible too. 👍👍👍
I’m pleased that you are honest about how to get better at not just jazz but all guitar playing: it’s down to hard work and putting in the time. All those ‘cheat’s’ guides, guitar made easy and the rest are selling us poor schmucks short.
Adrian , fantastic job, your a great player and teacher!
Thanks!👍
Thank you Adrian! I've been getting back to jazz the last bunch of months and your "from exercises to music" section is exactly where I am right now - and Autumn Leaves is one of the 10 or so songs I'm working on! Overall this is just an excellent video for anyone trying to get into Jazz. As for "next tune" ideas, I would suggest Blue Bossa - always an easy "warm up" tune. Or for a first Charlie Parker tune, either Now's the Time or Billie's Bounce (My Little Suede Shoes is always fun too).
Love it
nice and the return of the virage :)
Brilliant. We can’t all be Jens Larsen (well, you can), so this sort of beginner friendly stuff is just what I at least need. I will still have to watch this at least 36 times, probably at half speed, to take it all in, but it’s a great jumping off point.
Maybe Night and Day next?
Thanks. I rather enjoy improvising with clarinet and saxes after helping students with Rose studies and such. Jazz is an art that "classical" trained woodwind players find challenging. Improvisation at least keeps our heads out of the sheets with all those "black dots". Just thanking in my own way.
HI CAN YOU TELL ME ABOUT THE GUITAR YOU ARE USING.
Nice
I like you're amp/guitar tone, similar to the Hank Garland tone on His Autumn Leaves' recording.
*Love this channel* so much easier to learn than those hyper annoying American “teachers” that spend the whole upload “talking”. 👍
Boom!
Hello Adrian,
Off topic request coming up.
You don't seem to have any Stranglers lessons in your fantastical archive.
Anything from the first two albums (or other recordings from that early period) would be highly appreciated.
I'm a Patreon member but I thought I'd just stick a request in here ;¬)
What about adding in elements of the song melody mixed with arpeggios?
