    THANK YOU for getting right to the point. It’s SO frustrating trying to find an instructional video, almost every single one has several minutes worth of needless backstory/ introduction.

    Thank you for this. I knew how to M1R but needed a quick refresher since I hadn’t done it in a while. I appreciate videos like yours that are short and get right to the point for those of us who just need a quick reminder, rather than having to watch a 10 minute video with lots of blabbing, for the tiny bit of information that we seek. There aren’t enough short, quick and to the point knitting videos. Your’s was just right.

    We're still watching!!! Thank you for the very clear instructions. And yes, you make it look so easy! I knit tighter than you do so creating a M1R and M1L is a nightmare though it is getting easier the more of them I do.

    Thank you for your nice short video. I watch it as a refresher before starting any increases. I agree that they are "difficult" stitches to get your needle through, and marvel that some find them easy 🤔

    Thanks for making this vid!! This is EXACTLY what I needed to see -- I'm knitting my first sweater poncho/cape and needed a video that clearly shows the increases in context of a center stitch with 2 diagonal increases going outwards. Thanks so much -- now let's hope this thing comes out. :)

  • @Addicted2Yarn1
    @Addicted2Yarn1 8 місяців тому

    I found this video extremely helpful and completely agree when you say the M1R can be tricky. For me personally, because I have naturally tight tension I find the M1R quite difficult to get my right hand needle under the lifted stitch, once the needle is actually in I have no problems, when I first started learning this stitch I used to have to do it with the help of a 0.2mm steel crochet hook, just so I could pull the yarn through! I think difficultly is based on lots of different factors and what's easy for some will be more difficult for others and vice versa.

    So much easier to lift the 'bar' with the left needle. When I do it with the right needle, I always get mixed up about how to put it back on the left needle!

    I use this to remember:
    “I’ll be right back” = go in through the back for a M1R.
    “I left the front door open.” Go in through the front to M1L.

      I think she it just saying the stitch should not slide on easily. If you are putting the needle tip in the back of the new stitch correctly you will feel some resistance, meaning it’s pretty difficult to do the stitch as opposed to a normal stitch.

    It would be helpful to note that when picked up and placed onto the left needle, the M1R slants to the right, and the M1L slants to the left. Also trying to see what you're doing around those huge stitch markers is a pain. Just sayin'.

    one question: you show just one knitting row, but
    how does it come in the next row? do you again make the increases or do you just knit the row with the same stitch? in case you again do the increases, the one that was right you do it right again, and the left you do it left again
    thanks!!

    • @chawntelh
      @chawntelh 6 років тому

      Barbara, It would depend on the pattern you are following.
      In the swatch she was knitting, she Did increase Every row right where the stitch markers were....that's how each row was longer and she was achieving that triangle swatch.
      And about the question you asked,"the one that was right do you do it right again....etc" Yes!
      Basically, she keeps increasing at the same point in the row.
      I hope I helped you out:) Good luck!
