Thank you for making these slo mo videos. I’m such a visual learner and I always come back to your videos when I need help. So, thank you for taking the time to do these.
The slow mo video is also great for hearing impaired like me as I have to read the captions and then try to catch what you are doing physically ...slowing it down allows me to do that. You reg speed videos I would have to replay like 5 or 6 times so that I could make sure I read it correctly understood it and saw what you were doing. So thank you for these!
These slo-mo videos are SO helpful. I can usually catch on after 1 view; whereas, some techniques require viewing over and over when in regular motion. Thanks.
Thank you for the wonderful tips to make these increases easier! The one about rolling the needle to the back on the M1L is a game changer. I will be using this increase a lot more now! Thanks again. I love your videos!
Thank you so much! I’ve been following you for longer than either of us is going to admit to UA-cam being around 😘 And you have no idea the dark, dark days you and knitting have gotten me through ♥️. M1 without leaving a hole has been the bane of my existence! I’m now fighting a brain tumor so the slow mo is EXACTLY what I needed to get me passed all those holes in my sweaters. Thank you 🙏🏻 again ♥️ Knit 🧶 and crochet 🧶 forever ♾
Thank you so much for this video! I was a bit lost on the process seeing this normal speed and seeing it slowed down and close up really helped clear up my confusion.
You are the very best knitting instructor ever! So helpful and clear, perfectly explained and demonstrated - I love all your Slow Motion videos and all your regular speed videos - whenever I need assistance I only look at yours now for everything! Thank you SO MUCH!! Ann from UK!
THANK YOU for making this slow motion video! I am a crocheter but have been cheating on my crochet with knitting 😁 so I would classify myself as a beginner. For me, following a knitting pattern can be intimidating but you are making my experience so much better 🤗 Thank you so much!
Finally someone who UNDERSTANDS multiple learners! Thank you: searching is one frustration in itself in addition to that waiting for ad prompts so you can SKIP then musical preludes to site then elaborations on WHAT we are going to learn then the stop and show where the fingers are jammed up to camera so you CAN'T SEE ANYTHING... well it is a new year and we found your website and here's to moving forward. Happy New Year All!
Thank you for the slow motion video. This is the second time I;ve needed help on a stitch. After crocheting for so many years it wasn't much of a challenge anymore (I even crocheted my daughter's wedding dress out of 17 balls of size 10 crochet cotton and have mastered mastered hairpin lace) So after 40 years I bought some knitting needles and found I remembered basic stitches, but wanted to tackle something harder than a blanket or scarf. That's where you come in! I can slow down videos myself, but then I lose audio.
I love your knitting tips! I've just finished a shawl. I came up with the name of it myself because I created the pattern and coming up with patterns is complex at the same time, easy! You're one of my biggest inspirations! Keep up the great work!
Soooo helpful for me, Staci! LOVE the SlowMo videos! Thank you for teaching us how to create proper stitches and how to interpret knitting instructions :) I'll be making all of my M1's as M1L's ;) XO-S
I'm working on my first garment and the instructions call for M1 and not M1R or M1L. Thank you for clearing that problem up for me because the videos didn't provide that piece of information.
I love your videos. I am still a beginner, possibly advanced beginner? I have watched many of your videos and each of them are so helpful. You are very thorough and you go at a pace that is easy to follow.
Thank you so much, you have no idea how helpful this is! I have a knitting project in mothballs because I was afraid to do the M1R and M1L which appears several times in the pattern.
Can these be used to increase the body circumference of a top down sweater? Will it distort the direction of the stitch rows? If this will work, would I place them to the sides of the under the centre underarm stitch? Thanks for your continued dedication to helping us become better knitters ❤️
The pattern stitch I am doing is called the Pebble Stitch - from Super Stitches Knitting book the instruction for last row (R4) says: *K1 in horizontal bar before next st, K1, rep from * to last st, K1. It doesn’t specify pick from front and know through back or visa versa. So which one would I do? Thanks for any help you can offer - your tutorials are my very favorite and I have learned so much from you! Thanks!
If left or right isn't specified, usually it's "knitter's choice". But since you are working on a complicated stitch pattern, I recommend contacting the book author for clarification.
Thank you for making this slow motion video. I live in Arizona and my sweater pattern says M1 but isn't clear on how to do that. The pattern says to contact then either call or fax them in England. So this is one time I really needed your help. Thank you.
I LOVE how you teach. Thank you so much for taking the time. I have a question regarding a pattern I just started. Moonbumps by @Maxtheknitter and I can't figure out the way you knit the icords into the shawl. Help please...
Hi Kim - that's a question for the designer, I recommend contacting Max directly. Good designers support their patterns and get back to you quickly with answers. :)
How should I M1R if next is purl stich? I Buy pattern MY FAVOURITE THINGS Sweater no 9 and I don't know what is wrong but I have big wholes where I should have M1R :(. And next is purl stitch.
I was wondering if you could answer this question? I want to know if I'm making a magic circle tube knitted I want to make little parts of it puffed out to make it look like a scallop shape and go back to reg size for making scrunchies would it be possible? Like hour glass shape, repeats until the end ? Thanks Sam
Could you please help me to I need a trick to make the first and the next two parts equal in a crochet scarf because of the thin and the thicker thread.
Hello, I have a sock related question and hope that you can help me. For my son, I always cast on 72 stitches of fingering weight socks. For the first time I’m knitting him a pair of worsted weight socks. Is there a rule of thumb number of stitches in worsted weight that equates to 72 stitches? Thanks.
If you're increasing for a thumb gusset in a mitten, which is done first- the M1L or M1R? I'm trying to adjust a pattern I use and like these increases better than just Kfb.
I have a hard time understanding. My pattern calls for increase in each of the 6 stitches across (12)...yet you say at the begining that M1 don't work on the very edge stitche...i'm lost. Please help
If your pattern says to increase IN a stitch, it is likely that the designer means for you to do a different increase, since M1 stitches are worked between the stitches. I recommend contacting the pattern designer for clarification.

Thank you, Staci, for the great tip of rolling the needle on the M1L. I'm using them in sleeves right now and I can't believe how much easier it is!
Thanks! This slo-mo series is THE BEST!!

I love your slow-mo videos! You are my "go-to" teacher whenever I have questions!
Thank you so much! I just started a new pattern chock-full of M1R & M1L. Your slo-mo video of the two make ones is just short of heaven-sent!

I love your slow motion videos. I’m an advanced beginner and so many of these stitches are new to me and confusing!
These are great-thank you so much! The voiceover helps immensely
GREAT! Thanks! I've always wondered if I was doing these right, but I do them the same way you do, so I'm happy!
I love your knitting tips! I've just finished a shawl. I came up with the name of it myself because I created the pattern and coming up with patterns is complex at the same time, easy! You're one of my biggest inspirations! Keep up the great work!
Watching you taking those stitches apart makes me anxious but it's great seeing the fix in slow motion.
Great idea especially if learning a new technique or for beginners. Very clear, great stuff!

Bless you and some! Now I get it.
Thank you for the excellent instruction!
Thank you ❤. Very helpful and informative.
Thanks that makes it easy to make
Wow so nice and easier to understand. Could I use this method of increase for toe up socks at the beginning?

@@verypinkknits Very good advice! Thank you.
Yes thank you for this
Thank you. Do you have any nemonic to help remember which is the left and which is the right.
Thanks, big help!
Thanks so much

Can you please show how to increase in 2x2 ribbing in slow motion? Thanks in advance.
If I don't really care about the increase being invisible, can I replace k1r/l with a kf/b?
Could you please help me to I need a trick to make the first and the next two parts equal in a crochet scarf because of the thin and the thicker thread.
This is so helpful, but I am not looking forward to patterns with this stitch! 😭🤪🤣
Thank you!

Would like to see it done with Continental
If you're increasing for a thumb gusset in a mitten, which is done first- the M1L or M1R? I'm trying to adjust a pattern I use and like these increases better than just Kfb.
There are no rules here, it is your choice.
THANK YOU!
Thank you for this! Can I ask a question...is a yo, k3..the same as kf, k3? I don’t really see a difference??
I'm not familiar with the abbreviation "kf", it's not standard. I recommend contacting the pattern designer with your question.
VeryPink Knits sorry...I was trying to say with yarn in front..
Wait why do you sometimes do the stitch one way then another way? Sorry that's terrible phrasing... The make one left and right?
M1 Right leans to the right, M1 Left leans to the left. Patterns often use both to "mirror" the increases.
I’ve got a pattern where the lace section is made by M1 L and R but by purling. Any chance you could explain this one as I’d love to do the pattern.
Don’t know if you still need an answer for this but here is a link that might help ua-cam.com/video/RnF67ZMqSo8/v-deo.html
can you pull it up from the bottom leg an which would be left or right
That is a different increase, usually called a "lifted increase".
Oh ok. I am making rodeo drive poncho rip it out twice
If you are working from one of my patterns and you have a question, feel free to email me directly at staci@verypink.com.
I don't no right or left m1lifted I feel like I really slow …...I will get it done if I have to keep on ripping it out a simple pattern
Thanks

What does it mean when pattern says slip m1
You probably want to contact the pattern designer for sure, but I would guess that is two separate stitches - slip 1, then make 1.
What if the pattern says M1 but doesn’t specify right or left?
That is "knitter's choice", whichever you prefer.
Hi, thank you for the video...a question...would you do this kind of increasing also when knitting raglan in garter?
This is one option...you can use any increase you like in a raglan sweater.
@@verypinkknits I've been experimenting...I want it to be as invisible as possible. I'll try the M1L and the M1R also. Thank you.
