old men discussing the floppiness of their shafts
😂
Play it for your wife without showing her the video and see her reaction 😂

I'm done ROFLMAO!
I could listen to these legends talk for hours.
Definitely
Neek
Me also.. bunch of old clowns now, but so much loved. ❤❤
Gary Player could listen to Gary Player talk for days
@@tigernorm713 LOL probably so but he is still fun. He’s the grandpa with all the great stories
I love it when Legends get together...
Priceless!!
It’s been awhile since Annika had anything stiffen
@@dougbeischel2426
Ha!
True dat
When Lee Travino was on Johnny Carson, he told a story. He said he was trimming his hedges when some snooty neighbor lady stopped and told him what a wonderful gardner he was, and asked him what he charges to care for lawns and if she could hire him do her yard. He told her, "The lady who owns his house lets me sleep with her."
The snoot drove off in a huff...
Lee could’ve been a comedian if he wasn’t a world class golfer. I’m looking for that interview now.
That the same story told by Charley Pride many times.
I remember that night on Johnny Carson!! 😂❤
One of my favorite stories from him.
Life ...... Their shafts were stiff when they were young and now 😢
Bro 💀💀💀
Well same with our sticks underneath
😂😂😂
You can still get it stiff when your older
@Pacsoutdoors yep, with help from a "Blue Shaft" from a brand called Viag--
“Idk what that means”
“I don’t either, that’s what they told me”
Such a swedish reaction..... Just politely letting everyone know she is confused.
@@TheHollomapShe was mocking him for lying. They all know it's bs.
"And it stiffins' at the bottom" and Annika delivers a zinger right queue with, "I'm not sure what that means" - Absolutely hilarious!
I know exactly what Trevino is talking about. That's why the senior flex is much softer.
It's kinda like a whip. It snaps at the bottom.
I really had to laugh when he said he might hit it twice!😂
She's a dirty bird.
Grizzly Adams DID have a beard.
I came here just for this comment!!! Thx you 🤘
Wish I knew what this comment has to do with this golf video 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
@@Tom-ok2rh then you aren’t a true golfer my friend. If you know you know
@@Tom-ok2rh Lee Travino was in Happy Gilmore, and it's one of his quotes from that movie.
@@zZrEtRiBuTiOnZz yea I found that out last night. Only saw that movie once so I’m not too familiar with that one like I am with Caddyshack
Trevino truly one of the greats understands the golf swing
This is precious moment captured. Thanks
Some of the best golf players that my dad used to relax watching on TV .
Love Tom Watson. Such a humble and ridiculously talented player.
Especially when Gary’s around, Gary tends to be opinionated and controversial like one about loose impediment on rooted grass, but they still shook hands at Augusta
He and palmer are my all time favorites. Grewup watching them in the 80’s with my papa. Just a different breed of men.

He's really changed if he's there.
I think I heard his voice at one point
@stevesebzda570 Nicklaus is in the red shirt and they're all commenting on Trevinos driver
@harrycallahan9069 Yeah, things have changed.
Jack Nicklaus is hardly recognizable.
Lee Trevino used to be the short one.
Not so here lol
Thanks 😆
Mickey Wright and her 82 wins might have an opinion on that.
@BradYzermans You're probably right and she has the record to back it up but I will stick with my original thought
Love that these legends are still around. More character between this lot than the entire pga tour (non-champions).
Annika with the classy and fun line!!
She's a dirty bird.
I also stiffen when I get to the bottom.
The boys are back in town. Great stuff
Autoflex shafts are amazing technology. More people would play them if they tried them out, but they cost almost $800 USD per driver shaft.
Is there only one flex or do these shafts come in multiple traditional flexes: R, Stiff, X Stiff, Tour X Stiff, etc?
Meaning does "auto" mean "single" flex fits all, or does it just refer to the technology?
Judging from this video of a "wet noodle" Trevino had vs. the other auto flex shaft vid I viewed where a strong player was hitting the auto-flex, I'd guess that they have to come in the different traditional flex strengths of Regular,Stiff, X- Stiff, etc because the other one I saw didn't look like a wet noodle.
Thx
@@BuffaloNickel9Fujikura has easy peasy Regular flex shafts for seniors on shelf brought drivers, fujikura stiff is still not really stiff, if you want a X Stiff Monsta get Fubuki X Stiff, it's like a 48 inch iron rod
@matt7iron I play and LOVE the Counter-balanced Hzrdus Smoke Blue RDX (limited edition PVD) in Xstiff driver and Stiff 3Wood.
Basically, what I was asking is just that the name "Autoflex" was throwing me off and I wanted to know if it was just one shaft flex fits all swing speeds (think of an adjustable cap) or autoflex is just like all the other shafts where you still have to choose your flex (think of a fitted new era cap). Make sense?
It looks like they do come in different flexes, but they label them SF 305, SF405, SF505, SF505X, SF505XX, etc.
I knew there was no way a Tour Pro could've played the same flex Trevino was using.
@@BuffaloNickel9 my handicap is 14 and I'm beginning to think my used shelf brought Cleveland TA7 pro irons might be too much club for me, I played em for 10 yrs and love em when I'm hitting flagsticks and hate em when I got 100 yrs in and boom a nasty pull off the green, I'm looking for those forgiving Mizuno jpx eaze irons from a few years back, you tried any of those easy to hit ones.
Absolutely, the shafts are the final frontier in golf equipment. Those shafts are amazing.

A wise man keeps quiet and listens when around elder legends
Annika!
Maybe just a few majors between them lol. 41 for the men and another 10 for Annika. Incase you were wondering lol
annika's mind went other places
Just missing Seve Ballesteros then you would have 6/10 best players ever.
Don't forget Tony Jacklin ⛳️
This was always a fun group to watch and listen to ever since I can remember!
I think what Lee means is that the energy is stored at the top prior to release and it 'stiffens' when that stored energy is released (transferred). Great to hear these legends of the game. When I was younger I modelled my swing on Lee and had great fun with it. Thanks old fella God Bless you.
I remember an article in Golf Digest (could’ve been Golf magazine not sure). It was about being “sneaky long” and I was a beginner at the time. It was all about the grip, he suggested strengthening the grip (rolling it clockwise for a righty) to encourage a draw for extra distance. Helped me cure my slice and I’ll never forget. He’s absolutely brilliant. The other guys aren’t too bad either. Learned a few things from them too. Plus met Tom Watson at a media luncheon at Prairie Dunes before the senior open. Super nice guy
It's called an auto flex shaft, they are pretty expensive 500-850 for just the shaft by itself but some people swear by them. Very loose and whippy at the top but on impact very stiff.
@@willlazenby1050 Yup .. "These shafts are engineered to automatically optimize energy transfer, at both high and low swing speeds." It's a mechanics solution which gives maximum transfer of energy in terms of the work put in. I wasn't aware of the autoflex system but I assumed that was what it meant from the comment.
Its like a modern day gearbox designed fishing rod
What a line up
Literally fifty years ago I’d watch them play on Sunday afternoons.
Watson, Trevino, Player, and Nicklaus.
Apologies for not knowing the nice lady’s name.
Free advertising for Autoflex shafts. (Couldn’t pay for that even if they wanted to. )
If you sat and listened to them for an hour you would have a years worth of knowledge. Why Trevino doesn’t get the props of a Player or Watson I will never know

Annika Sorenstam!!! Wow! Awesome to see her with those legends!
Annika is a legend also. Respect.
💯 Annika is a legend too
Annika has great sense of humor!!😂❤❤❤
She fits right in with them, legendary status by her own right
Annika definitely belongs to the legends club. She’s just where she should be. And an Augusta National member, now.
These old goats grew up with steely shafts and blade irons smaller than the ball itself. And played with "wooden" woods and driver. Now they clowning on their noodle shaft tech and who has the softest flex. Love to see the humor after 3/4 of a century of competing.
Trevino should also be at the Masters teeing off.
Definitely.
He's got beef with Augusta.
No. He never won the Masters so he is ineligible. I found out the hard way when I asked him to sign a Masters hat for me when I met him on the range at the Greenbrier Resort. He laughed and told me he had never won that tournament, but he signed it anyway - great guy.
@@babalugats3540I heard he actually changed his shoes in the parking lot but that might not be true. He always said his low ball flight and Augusta National were not a good fit as I don’t believe he ever contended there. In fact you rarely see any of his highlights there maybe because there weren’t any 🤣🤣
Long ago I read that he felt unwelcome and in some way slighted. Given those times, I don't doubt him.
Legends and I am very happy to see that machine of a lady Anika with them 😊👏👏👏👏👏
I wonder how good Gary Player was. Well, we'll just have to ask him.
Annika.. “I’m not sure what that means haha”
She studied that one speech about having a dream WAY WAY too much 😂😂😂
Is that an Autoshaft? It’s like 900$
Yes. Love mine
Lee always a step ahead
Same principle as a long cast in fishing. Load that rod up well like a spring and slingshot your heavy lure a mile… In fly fishing it’s the mass of the flyline that loads the rod and in golf it’s the club head. Very cool stuff guys!
Kinda like watsons style noddin and chill and let someone else talk way too much
Wouldn’t it be nice if there was a mute button for Gary?
Autoflex?
Yes
It stiffens at the bottom. Dude!
"I may be able to hit twice!"
you talking about golf Lee? 🙃
idk why but i got mad when they didn’t understand his explanation of why he doesn’t have to swing as hard. it made perfect sense…
its sad that her posh-ness prevents her from understanding the simple physics of loading and unloading tensional strains. You pull a rubber band back and it snaps forward. same exact concept here. its something that is kind of fundamental to the sport of golf......
Exactly what i was thinking
A Living Golf Mt Rushmore - I have been blessed to see them all at the top of their game.
237 PGA and LPGA Total Wins - Anika (72), Tom(39), Lee(29), Gary(24), and Jack(73)
51 PGA and LPGA Major Wins - Anika(10), Tom(8), Lee(6), Gary(6), and Jack(18)
They’d have 319 and 66 if Tiger had come along!
Made me wish Arnie was there for the video
What a game!!!
That’s why I’m playing the ‘66 VIP irons he won twelve majors with between 1966-1976
is it just me...or was there a lot of code words there ??
I sometimes wish that I lived in a world where Gary Player voiced his opinions freely. 😂😂
Close your eyes and listen to this conversation.😂
The Kick Point of Lee’s club shaft is what he is talking about
Yes i understood what he was saying aswell haha
And he has a slow swing speed now so the rest of the shaft helps generate it for him and the low kick point helps keep the head square at impact. My old man has a rope for a shaft now in his 80’s and I can make the ball defy physics practically and the ball needs a turn signal. Someday, if I am lucky I will need this kind of shaft to continue playing in my 80’s
A stiff shaft at 80 is quite impressive. 😊
It’s the design of the shaft. It’s called autoflex and they retail for like $800. I have one and it’s pretty wild even at my 125-130 mph club speed
@@Singlebarrel2323 Dude that is like top of the heap swing speed on tour
What a collection of great talent. I was just thinking tat if Arnie had been a participant in this conversation he would have been in tears laughing. 😂😂😂

I want to be a fly on the wall just for an hour so I can hear some either great advice, a great story or a great argument or debate with Mr. Trevino and anyone of the GOATs who were in the video…. Just hoping to absorb something from all that energy and greatness….
Samwise, Frodo, Merry, and Pippin in retirement
And Arwen keeping it 💯
If it's the right flex for his swing speed then it's great. By the way, what an amazing group of absolute legends of the game
LEGENDARY
Hearing and seeing these guys brings back such fond memories I wish I would have cherished more when they were happening.
My grandfather LOVED golf, like obsessed. Played on a team with Jack at their country Club
Anytime we were at my grandparents house, there was my grandpa, sitting in front of his huge tube tv watching some golf tournament. Didn't matter which one or where or who was playing. If it was on, he was watching it. My parents, uncles, brother and myself were all baseball/softball players so the silence of the game of golf always just bored me to tears so I always ended up getting up and leaving my grandpa to watch either alone or with my grandmother. I wish I would have sat there and learned so much more from him.
This August will be 25 years since his passing and I still can't get through a single comment like this without breaking down into tears.
I miss that man so much. 🥹
if only Chi-Chi was here too.
GARY PLAYER = J🤍Y‼️
There's something about golf that makes it easier if you're between 5'6 and 5'10. Here's your proof, plus Bobby Jones, Hogan, Palmer.....I know Tiger is 6'2, but I'm just saying the game is easier for those under 6 foot.
Legends. Player, Watson, Trevino, all great guys.... Nicklaus, on the other hand was always grumpy, serious, very critical of others. Not a fun man to be around. Never very popular.
He’s talking about dumina and the shaft model is autoflex. It’s a Korean company and from what I’ve heard it’s shaped molecules in an elastic resin or something. They cost $800 a piece and $900 for the new model they released. I have the SF 505xx which is the faster swing speed model and it’s actually pretty wild what it can do. Weighs 57 grams or something like that but it’s very stable at impact. You can find similar shafts from other manufacturers for a couple hundred but man is mine sweet. The pink is what they are known for but they have a rainbow and blackout. Club champion or formerly TXG did multiple videos on it. It’s almost like having a long drive shaft without the wild misses. Very cool stuff
From top of the world to last of the summer wine
Stiffer at the bottom!
Love watching those guys over the years 👍
Other legends saying "We can Hit", and Trevino answers, "Oh I can hit... I might just hit twice" As if to say, that's how good I am.... In the funniest, most nonsensical way. 😂 Pure Trevino
He's got an Autoflex shaft from Dumina. It's Korean and cost 800 dollars. Can't be all that, I've already seen used drivers with that shaft listed on Callaway pre-owned. Somebody couldn't hit it.
Has Jack shrunk?
Such an awesome conversation!! Anika giving LT the business😀Technology!?? That’s what they told you!? Yeah right
All my heroes. I will never forget the U.S. Open when Lee Trevino was tied with Jack in after regulation and had to play an 18 hole playoff. I think it was '71. Trevino tried to get into Jack's head by intentionally trying to break Nicklaus'es legendary concentration. He even pulled a rubber snake out of his bag and threw it on the green where Jack was about to putt. Jack would have none of it, but Trevino prevailed in that particular, historic match.
.
Gary Player has got to be my least favorite. Just has a way about him that's always rubbed me wrong. Yes, he's joking but why criticize Trevino's driver and then just keep going on and on about it?
I was 12 in 1987 and switching TV channels I saw a shot of Lee for an hole in one. In Italy golf was not a followed sport, I felt in love immediately. My father took me and my brothers to the nearest golf course, the minimum fee was half of an average salary. My golf career ended there. in 2024, i still never played golf, than with the 7 iron and 20 used balls we bought there and when the last of the balls went in the river 80 yards away from the hitting point, also the home golf course closed its career. But I still love this game I never played at 49 years old. Watching Lee reminded me those times. What a sad story 🤣🤣🤣
Used to work at a pro shop during college; it always surprised me how much money people shelled out for the newest and best clubs, balls, shafts, etc. thinking it was going to give them that edge. But anytime I gave a lesson I’d tell them it’s all about fundamentals and having fun, and with my 20+ year old Ben hogan clubs I’d hit the ball exactly where I needed the ball to go, then the old men in particular would actually start listening.
My dream foursome is Gary Player, Lee Trevino and Tiger. Player and Trevino just to listen to all their stories, and Tiger...well because he's Tiger
Lee Trevino knew what he was talking about, Anika just wanted to be included in Players attempt to insult, Gary Player always has to be the center of attention especially at Trevion’s expense , it’s no secret Gary player doesn’t like Lee lest we forget the( personality like a garlic milkshake) said of Lee by Mr know it all.
Just the good ol’ boys comparing their shafts.
I'm going to buy some Pace Picante sauce after watching this video.
Autoflex shaft lol
Lee Trevino is probably the only one of that group who could have played with hickory shafted clubs of the past. His driver resembles the flex of the old hickory shafted clubs.
I was the project manager of Horizon City in El Paso in the early 1970s and I had to fire Trevino as our pro as he spent too much time in the clubhouse. So, he decided to go on tour, so it was the best thing for his career and checkbook.
Most younger golfers think golf started with Tiger Woods... They've never heard of these players...
She hasn't felt it stiffen at the bottom for
A Minute. 😂
Autoflex ❤
Long Drive Competitors use extremely soft shafts as well… Lol.. That makes me chuckle even writing it.. But it’s the same idea
It's a terrible Industry, Full of Rich People, it's really pathetic and will Eventually Go Away
Autoflex. Only an $800 shaft lol. Better make a lot of things easier for that price lol. They are all awesome to listen to.
All Lee cares about, can I get the ball down the fairway and where I want it to go. Gary's right in one respect, 'you've got to know what you're doing to hit this club', and Lee always known what to do. Anyone that can beat you with an old Dr. Pepper bottle has got to know what they're doing.
Juat imagine watching them in a 4 man scramble tourney.
I want to start a pro golf scramble league 2 or 4 , could add in non pros , like fans , celebs , family , etc but it also opens up great players to try amazing shots they would not try otherwise , i really believe a high end scramble league would sell , mostly a 2 man but add in 4 man events where the other 2 are always everyday fans and so on , like fans could win chances to play in these events.
I knew all of them... except the guy in red. Jack Nicklaus!!! I'm feeling old (too).
Lee is the absolute magician among magicians ... He Rules ... perhaps Chi Chi belongs !!!
Lost all respect for Jack after he wrote a letter supporting chump and hasn't made a public retraction...Dechambozo too
Korean Hidden Technology Autoshaft - It has no official stiffness rating and the idea is that is loads properly according to the swing speed of the player. I’ve hit. Need an on point tempo to hit it correctly.
Autoflex golf shaft is about 1,000 US.Dollar. This is one of the best in the world of golf shaft.
....furher explanation needed on "it gets stiff at the bottom. I'm not aure what that means" 😂
