Excellent analysis as usual, Daniel. I'm two years into my chess journey and new to your channel and I find your videos extremely instructive. I appreciate how you are able to succinctly convey the ideas and themes behind various positions, it strikes a great balance between surface level recaps and getting too deep into sidelines. Exploring side lines is great but sometimes, when rattling off sidelines and focusing on tactical possibilities, you lose sight of the game at hand and often times the tactics are too specific to apply elsewhere. Especially with engine lines which don't always follow for the human mind. The way you talk through the games makes these crazy positions feel logical, sound, and understandable. It really makes chess feel more accessible and approachable when the thoughts, emotions, and decisions behind the moves are laid bare.
Also another beautiful game from Caruana. The precision with which he calculates is truly a thing of awe, especially when it comes to sharp lines and venomous positions. We saw it front and center in the WCC when time and again he was able to hold against incredible pressure from Magnus. It's amazing the depth and breadth of the lines he's able to calculate and how he's able to correctly determine when seemingly natural looking moves are inaccuracies.

My feelings as well. As a matter of fact, I would have written something similar had my English been better. Maybe I should try in Serbian-Croatian?
      Nah, too lazy.

Yannick is great but Daniel's inimitable charm is tough to beat! I don't think anyone's analysis does!

Wow, incredibly complicated game. Could not believe all those land mines were seen by Caruana, incredible strength of these players. Thanks GM for the two treats today!

I caught the final several moves live and even after he resigned Firouzja seemed in good spirits. Go Team Fabi !!!

Good analysis. You made them in german in the past too, didnt you? I didnt realize before how difficult it was for caruana to defend this one. This shows me, that Caruana should fight against Carlson another time again. Nice game of both Players and good Analysis. Thanks a lot!

Thanks for great analysis Daniel (and the two vidoes)! For me the game of the tournament so far, great fighting chess by both players.

In the final position, after Nxg5+ Ke6-d6, instead of Ng5-f7+, returning the knight to e4 with check is much stronger, since after Ke6 (forced), White has Rxg6+, followed by Qc6 and Qxf6 and then Qxe8. Black loses everything to White's Queen and Knight battery.

With the exception of a few minutes against Anand, this has been a classic Caruana-type tourney.

Caruana is still the only one who's capable of seriously challenging carlsen. No one else is even close to their level except maybe ding too. I hope he wins the candidates again and rematches him.

How is it easier to play position for white after h5? For example with plan Kh7, Rg8. Knight also can be hidden in g7 if attacked. I tried to find the plan for white but once black consolidate and start to push this massive pawn structure it can be hard for white to stop it, except they can counter somehow in the center.

Loved this hyperenterprising spirit by Fabi! If he played like this more frequently he might add his own Magnus-like touch to his results 😄

I was very surprised Alireza didn't play h5...I see him as having very good intuition for what the position requires. Very similar to how engines think, not afraid at all to compromise king safety cause they know there's no real threat in a long time.

I push my pawns like Caruana as well, the only problem is i get slaughtered afterwards. Great calculation and strategical understanding results in beautiful game like this. Well played Fabi.

If Fabi keeps this form he's going have pretty good chances of challenging Magnus yet again.

That knight stopped anything and everything. After controlling the e5 and e1 squares, blockading, and winning the f2 pawn, he continued to control the death and birth rates of new Hampshire, or so rumor has it.

it's always the same old story with these top players. normally X should be good, but in this case it's not and then after a few more moves, one of them either resigns or survives and draws while shaking his head in discontent
