Rottenburg am Neckar ist eine Mittelstadt im Landkreis Tübingen in Baden-Württemberg. Sie liegt rund 50 Kilometer südwestlich der Landeshauptstadt Stuttgart und etwa zwölf Kilometer südwestlich der Kreisstadt Tübingen.
Rottenburg liegt in einer seit vorgeschichtlicher Zeit dicht besiedelten Region.
Die Römer- und Bischofsstadt liegt am Übergang des Neckars aus dem engen Tal des Oberen Gäus in ein weites Tal zwischen den Höhen des Schönbuchs.
Der Rottenburger Dom St. Martin gilt als Wahrzeichen der Stadt.
Sehenswert ist auch die Altstadt mit ihren engen Gassen und mittelalterlichen Türmen.

Rottenburg is located in a densely populated area since prehistoric times.
The Roman and episcopal city lies at the junction of the Neckar from the narrow valley of the Upper Gaeu in a wide valley between the hills of the beautiful book.
The Rottenburg Cathedral St. Martin is considered the symbol of the city.
