I arrived in Mittelfranken (northern Bavaria) back in the summer of 93'. I was stationed in Nuremberg and in Schweifurt from 93'-97' (US Army). I married a German Frau and stayed to raise my 3 kids. Every summer before Covid, I used to travel to Garmisch, Berchtesgaden or other places all along the German-Austrian border to go hiking or climbing. To me, Bavaria is the most beautiful state in all of Germany! Schöne Grüße!
I climbed the Zugspitze 5 x's in my life. Took a massive Road Trip from northen Bavaria to both destinations 1 x's from Hammersbach and 4 x's from Ehrwald and took the cable car Austrian side or train/cable from the German side back down to the parking lot and drove home all in one day. From where I live it takes 3hrs to get to Hammersbach in the middle of the night, 4hrs to Ehrwald. Hiking/climbing from German side takes 8-9 hrs, from Ehrwald Zugspitzbahn parking lot takes 5hrs of hiking/climbing. The ride back home happens during midday/after midday and it takes longer because all the traffic on A9 Munich-Nuremberg, plus construction. 4-6 hrs or more to get home.
Other places you could look into, Walchensee location halfway between Munich and Garmisch. Herzogstad-Heimgarten bergwandern. Also the Fränkische Schweiz which is located about 15 minutes east of me.
I got tears of happiness by watching this!!! Munich is my very first city when I arrived in Germany. Believe it or not, I was standing beside the summit cross in Zugspitze & visited these two fairytale castle. I love Bavaria because of the mountaines nature. Felt like I was back there again seeing them here. Marked again a few spots for a next visit. You are in inspiration mate! 🙂
When looking at Neuschwanstein up close you come to realize that it is just a theatrical backdrop for Ludwig II's romantic phantasies. But what a backdrop it is! 🥰
Im planning a solo trip to Germany and i was trying to figure out which places to go. Thank God i landed on this video. Now I'll definitely go to Bavaria. This is a must go for me. Who wants to take me around?
Felt so nostalgic watching your video. Konigsee was magical and so serene a place. Yes, our first stop was berchetesgarden and we took a day trip to salzburg from there. V convenient! Didn't visit a couple of places you highlighted and sadly also couldnt go up to eagles nest as roads still snow covered despite it being the month of May. Great video!
Bavaria is so scenic. Rothenburg is like stepping back in time. I'm amazed you hiked to the summit cross of Zugspitze in winter (or maybe fall). Munich's Marienplatz is as beautiful as Brussel's Grand Place. Neuschwanstein is, of course, like a peak travel experience. It's a shame they don't let you take pictures inside. The Nazi's filled it with their stolen art treasures because they knew the Allies wouldn't bomb such a magical place. Did you see the church of Wies-Rottenbuch near Fussen? It's famous for its Rococo interior. Happy travelling!
That's so cool you've been all over Bavaria! I wished I would have went inside Neuschwanstein, I didn't know they held so much treasure there. I didnt see the church of Wies-Rottenbuch, I wish I would have spent more time in Füssen!
I am so happy i watched this video, and now i know where is this place that i could only see in my dreams, i hope one day i could go to Wagenbrüchsee with my friends and family.
June and October are best. Funny lived here all my life and have never visited some of these places. I love Füssen, Lindau (Bodensee) and Ammersee the most.
Thanks for the great information. We went to Burg Hohenzollern Castle today. We left there and are now in Rothenburg at the Romantik Hotel Markusturm. What great people and rooms. Thanks again cause we are watching and folling what you suggest.
Bro, I love how you butcher Zugspitze and Garmisch-Partenkirchen to name a few :) A little less know place is the Ridge between Herzogstand and Heimgarten peaks that stand above the amazing lake Walchensee. You take a 2,5h hike up the mountain, and from one peak (amazing panorama of Walchensee, Kochelsee and Alps) you have another 2h ridge walk to the higher peak Heimgarten. Resembles a bit Stoos Ridge in a way (I just seen video - going to Switzerland this year). If you love picturesque hikes do this one! And the Walchensee itself is a marvel.

When looking at Neuschwanstein up close you come to realize that it is just a theatrical backdrop for Ludwig II's romantic phantasies. But what a backdrop it is! 🥰
Hard to beat that backdrop! 🏰🏔️🇩🇪
Im planning a solo trip to Germany and i was trying to figure out which places to go. Thank God i landed on this video. Now I'll definitely go to Bavaria. This is a must go for me. Who wants to take me around?
When are you traveling? I live in Bavaria and would be happy to meet you. We're American expats here for 16 years.
@@TerriblePerfection Hi, OMG thank you for responding to my comment. I plan on visiting this December.
Very well done Ryan, very informative and to the point!
Thanks Humaira! Where are you form?
@@RyanShirley Hi Ryan, I am from Canada, live in Toronto, your content is amazing and the drone footage is mind blowing!
Thank you for your wonderful Videos !❤
Of course! Is there any place you’d like me to make a video on?
Thanks to my x-boyfriend I visited all Bavaria. Watching these beautiful places brought wonderful memories.
Where were some of your favorite places you visited?
@@RyanShirley Rothenburg kongssee lake, fussen of course Marienplatz these are my favorites places.
Love Bavaria, my favorite place
Such a magical land! Do you have a favorite place there?
Great
Seen most of the places
A good walk in memory lane.
Thanks
Where was some of your favorite?
Felt so nostalgic watching your video. Konigsee was magical and so serene a place. Yes, our first stop was berchetesgarden and we took a day trip to salzburg from there. V convenient! Didn't visit a couple of places you highlighted and sadly also couldnt go up to eagles nest as roads still snow covered despite it being the month of May. Great video!
Thanks so much Hem! So cool that you’ve been! Such a incredible part of Europe!
It must be great wonderful to be young and enjoying places like this. Have fun.
It really is a good time! Have you been to Bavaria?
@@RyanShirley No, it looks beautiful.
@@RyanShirley You've really got to see the inside of Neuschwanstein sometime, it's incredible though only some rooms were finished.
I am so happy i watched this video, and now i know where is this place that i could only see in my dreams, i hope one day i could go
to Wagenbrüchsee with my friends and family.
You’re going to have a magical time 🇩🇪
Бавария супер земля германии видео фантастическое ! ! !🙂

It truly is heaven!

June and October are best. Funny lived here all my life and have never visited some of these places.
I love Füssen, Lindau (Bodensee) and Ammersee the most.
No way! What part of Germany are you from?
@@RyanShirley Right in the middle: Kempten
Absolutely love Bavaria GERMANY IS AWESOME
It’s such a incredible region! Füssen is such a cool city
@@RyanShirley thank you Ryan Shirley I also agree that Bavaria is perfect in every way
I’m half English / German and I did have family living in Southern Bavaria and I love Bavaria.
No way! Where’s your favorite place in Bavaria?
@@RyanShirley. There’s too many places to mention and I have been just about everywhere in Bavaria.
That’s why I left everything and moved to Bavaria 🥰
I’m jealous you live there!
Your video is equally magical. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much Ro! Truly a magical land 🏰
excellent video. like all your videos , by far the best and best quality on youtube.
Thanks so much mate! Have you been to Bavaria?
@@RyanShirley not yet but hope to very soon.
VERY NICE presentation Ryan. Excellent video.
Thanks Thomas! Gotta love Bavaria
Thanks for the great information. We went to Burg Hohenzollern Castle today. We left there and are now in Rothenburg at the Romantik Hotel Markusturm. What great people and rooms. Thanks again cause we are watching and folling what you suggest.
That’s so cool your there now! Hohenzollern castle looks incredible! Happy adventures 🇩🇪🏔🏰
Bro, I love how you butcher Zugspitze and Garmisch-Partenkirchen to name a few :)
A little less know place is the Ridge between Herzogstand and Heimgarten peaks that stand above the amazing lake Walchensee.
Again a great video! Keep up the excellent work! I'm looking
forward to another awesome upload! Take care and stay in touch! ⭐️
Thanks friend!
