I bought the 200RR because of this video. And just wanted to revisit the video to say it is hands down my favorite bike I’ve ever had, and I’ve been fortunate enough to have a decent variety of bikes over the years. Their review is pretty spot on, and I can even to a point agree with the negative review guy here, the seat is BRUTAL lol. But to be fair it’s all betas, and nothing a new seat can’t fix. It does have a bit of a wide turning radius for super slow stuff, but I’ve never thought too much of it. Power is great, it’s light, and probably the best weekend warrior bike I can think of, yet still can be super competitive. The single issue I’ve had with it, is that when I got it I could NOT get it to run right. Bogged down in first and at that point I was thinking “oh man I made a huge mistake”. I changed the jetting multiple times and still ran terrible. As it turns out, there must have been a mistake at the factory and it had the main jet from the 300 by mistake, and to be fair the way the part numbers were written I can see how it was mistaken. But once that was replaced (by the exceptional customer service I got) I couldn’t be happier. I also have to point out that the length they went to to dig in and find what ended up being such a simple fix really gave me confidence in the brand. And lastly, I’ve had the bike since June, I’ve ridden it in 3 states, and absolutely abuse it trying things I never thought I would. And I can say that these things are built like tanks. If y’all can, ride one, and then buy it and have as much fun as I have.

That's great feedback. Thank you. I'm so in between the 200rr and xtrainer, leaning towards 200rr for versatility and better suspension. But the size of xtrainer and super linear powerband is also appealing.

65, sweet, I'm 56 and getting back into riding after I foolishly convincing myself I would be happy 4wheeling cause I got married, well I'm single again and building the bike in the post above yours. I'm a stunted runt too, so I got a swingarm from a 2010 yz250f, the knuckle pivot doesn't go through the swingarm like the older bikes it goes underneath and lowers the rear by about an inch, I'm also going to run a yz125 spring to soften it up a bit. The 2008 yz450f has a good amount of seat foam so when I get the bike going I can decide whether to cut the seat or get a lowering link. I'd love to get a beta 200, but cash reserves dictate that not possible, but I have this bike and it will be a one of a kind.

Nice to see some Beta love from Vital. There is also a Race Edition 200 without oil injection and with KYB forks and different graphics. The 125/200 Beta's have a 15% smaller frame than the 250/300 and that may explain why Hayes felt cramped. 6 month warranty and 214 lbs and 36.6 seat height are worth mentioning also.

I'm in the process of putting a 1999 Yamaha dt230 motor into a 2008 yz450, most of you probably haven't heard of it, it's basically a wr200 that's been stroked to 224cc, the same motor that's in the Gpx 250 tse. It has a 6 spd wide ratio box, electric start, oil injection, balanced motor, and electric traction control, it's 23yrs old! I'm putting in a wr200 piston and gold series pipe and a 36mm Keihin pwk carb on it, I'm expecting good things from this frankenbike.

I have a Beta 300 and rode all the new bikes at a demo day. The new 300 was no better than mine but I fell in love with the 200 so I ordered a race edition and finally got it. Yes the suspension needs to be softened, specifically the midvalve needs more float to make it initially plush .7 was the sweet spot for me with a Gold Valve in KYB's, and the high speed in the shock needs to be softened. I found its almost to light to run a 90/100 up front and does much better with a 80/100 in softer conditions. I went with a SmartCarb and it gave it more off idle grunt and tripled the mileage. Flawless at altitude also. I throurally love the bike but my only complaint it they stepped on their schwanker with the gearing, 5th and 6th are to short if you ride in the desert. For most tight enduro stuff it's perfect, but hit a road where you need to connect trails and you have to be patient. The more I ride it, the more I love it. I hope this helps someone.

Thanks man! That helped a lot. I’ve decided the Beta 200 is the bike for me. I’m coming off a 350EXCF & 790R. I’ve always liked the bikes in the middle & now that I’m going back to 2t, this 200 seems to fit the bill perfect. My only hang up is the standard model or the Race edition… 🤔 I’ve heard that the standard model suspension is super plush out of the box & the power is the same. Just tam & comfy. The Race edition is stiffer & more aggressive but I do like that it’s KYB & you get some cool bling. Why did you go w/ the race edition over the standard? I race HS occasionally but mainly ride single track. I’m a B level rider that’s ridden all my life. 5’10” @ 210# (lean).

I'm 235lbs at low bodyfat, and I LOVED this bike, so I have no clue why the last guy didn't gel...but everyone likes different things. I dislike the frames on the KTMs and sold my 2020 Husqvarna TPI 2 stroke before the year was up...and it was a great bike (just wanted to get more power for my big arse), ...I just gel with stiffer chassis better! My TM Racing EN300ES 2 stroke and Honda CRF450R 4 stroke (that's being built as an RX race bike at XPR) are the best I've ever felt on a motorcycle! So everyone surely is different, and the last dude has thrown down some skill in other vids before - so I'm certainly not trying to throw shade.
But this Beta 200 really is the cream of the crop! I LOVED that machine when trying to figure out what bike to get when I bought my TM Racing machine in 2020. Very cool vid, Vital! 💪Always my favorite channel, and you NEVER disappoint! ❤💕

I have gone from 500, 450, to 350 and found that is the best 4t for single track.
It would be cool to see a non-stroke specific "mid class" shoot out. 150 2t, 200 2t, 300 4t, 350 4t. See where the compromises fall and what bike size is the best for all around enduro riding (not just flat woods, can a small bore hill climb?). I think a lot of us single track enduro riders are interested in the small bore benefits and avoiding being over biked.
I'd like to see if the 200 could go everywhere my 350 can (sandy hill shoots are common in Nevada single track) . If so, the light weight benefits of a smaller bore 2 stroke could dish out a lot of dividends!

I have a 2016 KTM200 XC-W and would really like to know how the Beta compares to that? Is it worth getting one? I have tried 250's and 300's but am just much more comfortable on the 200 especially in technical hard enduro stuff. For one it has more ground clearance and it just feels much more nimble in tight stuff, and even though it apparently only weighs +- 5kg less than a 300 somehow it just seems way easier to manhandle if you get stuck on a steep rocky hill which makes me more likely to attempt those types of hill climbs. In fast sections it screams like a 125 which triggers my adrenaline. I have ridden the 2021 Husky 150 TPI and that bike just feels anemic, even on top.

Even though thte RX is quite stiff for a Honda, it's funny how the japanese mx bikes have often worked better offroad than many of the boutiques that were designed specifically for offroad. Putting the closed chamber fork on the Beta's really highlights their chassis issues. Definitely appreciate those final comments as well.

I finally decided on the 2021 200rr. Very tough decision, And after the 1st few rides I thought I f'd up. You have to actually ride this bike, you cant just put it in 3rd gear and go any where. You have to actually use the clutch, use the throttle. gear selection and body position is so important. This bike is so damn fun. It will do everything the 300's do, but its light and nimble. My next purchase is a no brainer, almost.. 200 rr, or race edition.

I thought I wanted one of these, but I rode one at my local dealer's Beta Demo day just last weekend. It was super wet and muddy and cold so not ideal riding conditions (Western PA) But sadly, I wasn't impressed. It just didn't have enough low end power to get up short and muddy hill climbs. Maybe the tires weren't ideal for the conditions and maybe the gearing could have been better, but I needed to be in 1st gear alot. It was a pretty tight loop but I was hoping to be able to lug a little better in second. I did love the light feel and handling. I'm 5'8" 165 without gear so on paper it seemed like an ideal fit for me. If anybody has any experience in Northeast conditions with this bike, I would love to hear it. Thanks!
