- Back into the lawnmower build series over here at thejanticjournal. This video goes over the installation and fabrication needed to use MCP kart brakes in a racing mower application. A little bit of welding, grinding and pounding with a hammer was all that was needed to check another box of the list and get even closer to the finished product.
Awesome job!!! I would love to see you race it when it gets done
Any chance you could put all of the mower build videos in a playlist. I reference you a bit, but people tell me "its too hard to find" i had no problem😅 , but it would be easier to share your stuff. Also i owe you a lot, so thank you!
Great content definitely deserves the views
Can you please do a video on the shifter? Thank you.
I really wish I could run a right angle gearbox but being it's my first go at it I don't know if I can. I've raced mini stock cars but never mowers. Guess I need to get with my local chapter and see what I can run.
Have you had any thoughts on trying a "reversed" pedal setup, with clutch on the right, and the brake on the left on a future build? The GP I run is setup that way. I prefer this setup in my opinion. At least with racing on an oval, if I only have to use my right leg for bracing, and not have to operate a pedal at the same time, I found it to be less strenuous.
The factory hole in the frame that you're running the brake shaft through putting the bushing in there I did the same thing too, but mine is the next size smaller, so the side of my clutch with the pedal is sloppier than I would like to be. Definitely going to look for a larger one like you got so it'll fit nicer for my clutch pedal.
What is the average cost to bild one like this
We filled the brake system through the bleeders to the master cylinder to keep air out.
That's a good tip!
Great to see another video. Are they racing up there this year? I have looked and cant find any mower races down here close to me.
All of our local fairs and even fairgrounds are shut down. We might be able to sneak in a race in the fall but it's all still up in the air.
what are you using for transmissions? are they just stock mower transmissions that you are relocating
Are you using the 8x8 rims front and rear? What size tires are on this setup?
take that shifter cover up flush for a clean look
Where did you get the transmission and what kind is it?
Peerless 700, you can buy them anywhere online or search junkyards and old mowers with them too.
What sizes are you running on sprockets?
When is the next video?
which size wheels do you use in the front and in the back?
8x8 in the rear and 6x7.25 up fro t
Iam going to build a craftsman to i like how you doing on your
What type of right angle transmission is this? Anybody?
Peerless 700 style transmissions
Can I build a rear engine race mower?
I believe it's still allowed in some classes but very rarely done lol.
Ok
This is getting serious.
