Simplicity 8876: Shaping a Tube

Hi all,
In this edition of Mock-Up Monday, I'm taking on Simplicity S8876, a 1940s evening dress featuring pockets that enhance the hip shape. Overall, I really liked this pattern, and found it easy to construct. It also has a lot of shaping with darts and pleats, which makes it a good pattern to alter to get a perfect fit.

I love this series. I own so many repro patterns, it’s great to get the scoop on them before I make them. As for body shapes we often forget that during the time these garments were wore women used/wore foundation garments. That helped in the shape of the clothing and body. I also must tell you that I do like the way this fits on you. Keep them coming!!
