Right?! LOL I live in a rural area, and I love the Carhartt look because it makes me feel at home. But I never thought I'd see the day it was considered fashionable. The people mucking their stalls here would be totally shocked to learn they were accidentally the epitome of high fashion now.
I love the Chanel style jackets. They are classic and never go out of style. The prices she’s talking about are much too high for me. I can find them elsewhere for much less. Not by the same maker but knock offs.
Oh yes, I'm old enough to remember the 80s sneakers-to-office shoe swap! I worked on the 42nd floor in downtown L.A. and the dress code was fierce. But parking was so expensive that I wore sneakers and walked in from the cheapest (distant) lot; except one morning I forgot to grab my red pumps for my shoulderpad-clad powersuit.😮Luckily, my building had underground shopping open early in the morning. I ran in and bought a pair of low-heeled red pumps with metallic gold decorations on the vamps. I kept those WAY too long and will never forget that adventure (or my pumps) again!😊
Same here. We used to laugh at the people wearing tennis shoes and office wear. It was that ridiculous looking. You had to stash an extra pair of shoes at the office so that never happened to you. Times have definitely changed - now sneakers go with absolutely everything.
Never get rid of good belts! Im 51 and have collected 2 dresser drawers worth over my lifetime. They go in and out of style. I always have the perfect belt for any outfit because of my collection. Plus, the old leather belts are a better quality than anything made now.
I found a really cute trench coat at a thrift store and last week and cropped it. Cut it about 1 to 2 inches from the last button you want to keep. Then take your sewing machine, fold it a quarter inch, iron it, fold it again, iron it and do a basic straight stitch. If you can't sew then use Stitch Witch!
So, I don't follow fashion trends; your video just happened to come up in my feed. I dress modestly in long skirts/dresses and wear tichels for my faith. My husband was a Marine for 26 years, and we lived all over the country, including CA and NY, so I saw a lot of fashion trends. We have retired to the heart of WV to care for his momma, and the ONLY trend that will be seen here will be the farm jacket, and not for fashion, lol! Oh, and pajama bottoms at the Walmart!! However, I must say, those people in their jammie bottoms would give you the literal shirt off their back if you needed it, along with a hug and a prayer!! I enjoyed your video so much. ❤
I can't explain it, but there's something about the combination of trousers and sneakers that I find appealing. It has a sporty vibe that I really like! 😊
In last month I found 4 gorgeous vintage suede jackets (exact replicas of what’s out in new jackets) and 2 suede midi skirts. All together less than one new piece. I’m obsessed! Found a few pair of suede boots on Poshmark. Can’t believe my luck. I’m still posting on UA-cam myself. (4 weeks now) Did a video today wearing my leopard pants and one of my new vintage jackets. The barn jacket is a canvas Carhart jacket. You can get them at Tractor Supply stores, most western stores, or order online. They are great work jackets on the farm or ranch. So funny they are high fashion this fall! Can’t stop laughing in Texas!
Thank you for highlighting trends that will be popular in "regular" towns 😂 I've watched so many fall trends videos lately that left me thinking "that's only happening in big cities" ❤

Now, EVERY TIME I leave the house in an actual “put together, thought out outfit”, I get compliments. I'm well on in years, so I have owned a fair number of coats in my time, but my all-time favourite is a suede trench coat I had in the late '80s/early '90s. I miss it -- so classy and stylish!!! It would look amazing with a leopard print scarf. 😭😭😭
Sooooo, after 25 years of changing my clothes out from season-to-seaaon, I FINALLY realized I do not have to hang EVERYTHING up 🤯. Girl, I cannot wait for cooler weather and every time somebody asks me about why I roll my turtleneck in instead of out I always reply, ‘mind your own turtleneck business’…when you said that a couple of years ago I hollered and I’ve been saying it ever since!😂😂😂
Great video. You sold me when you narrowed it down to what regular folk in regular cities would wear. Very practical. Going ahead to subscribe now, my first in about a year!!🎉
I bought the most beautiful silk maxi skirt in navy blue from Banana Republic last year that I am going to wear the heck out of this fall. I think the trick to keep it from looking overly dressy is to wear something more casual on top, like a button-down shirt or a lightweight sweater. Silk for the win!
I have loved the trouser/sneaker look for so long, glad it's still on trend but I was going to wear it anyway! 😆 I need to work on my belt game, but I've had the cropped trench for a while. Ready for fall as soon as we get past Helene - stay safe up there, Anna!!❤
I love that you did not say “let’s get started!” It takes away from your lovely videos. Thank you!! PS I’m loving that my suede jacket from 10+ years ago is on trend!
The sneaker-trend has been "trending" in Europe for many, many years now... in fact, I first fell in love with Veja sneakers and purchased my very first pair of Vejas when I visited Paris. I now see they're catching up here in the US as I see many girls wearing them. I actually love the dress and slacks with sneakers trend. Just looks very classy and demure.
This is a great season for shopping my closet! I realized I have a leopard print cropped trench! Also a leopard jacket and a maxi skirt. I have burgundy suede boots too. Adding leopard pants and a suede bag to my shopping list, and a studded belt.
The full skirts are very tricky for petites, because if they are too full they literally swallow a petite person up. AND I have always liked the ladylike jackets, because on petites they are WONDERFUL! Leopard prints I just am not into, but if I found a skinny belt with leopard print, I MIGHT be able to wear leopard that way because it is so subtle. Great video, Anna!
I just picked up an ivory suede blazer and chocolate suede boots! Although I live in Canada so suede is only appropriate for like 4 weeks a year. Found a L’agence leopard print silk blouse in perfect condition at the thrift store. That’s my max. I can’t do a leopard pant lol.
Same (hi from Ottawa). Yet I have suede fall booties that seem to hold up well to wet weather. Any sued jacket or coat I ever owned was wrecked by rain.
Great video! J Crew has a large selection of animal print items right now. I dipped my toe in with a leopard calf hair skinny belt from J Crew. Wore it yesterday for the first time. It was the perfect addition to my casual outfit! I love the idea of leopard pants though! Might try a pair. Thanks for your insights! You are my fave!
Going to Portugal in October and I’ll be wearing my white sneakers for sure with all the cobble stone! Almost feel last summer there! So much love the fashions this Fall!! Getting my leopard print shirt and crop jacket out from 20 yrs ago!
I love my Barbour jacket, especially because I got it two years ago from eBay. Nice to know it’s on trend now. The brown suede boots are my favorite ones.
Great! I STILL have my utility (barn) coat with a corduroy collar from Lands End (boy that coat is old, but in perfect condition ~ early 90's for sure !!). Not sure about the crop trench coat as it looks like you couldn't afford the whole coat .. lol. 🤷
I had a Lands End barn coat that I wore to death 25 years ago. It was super practical for a busy mom in New England. Now I'm much more into trench coats and a nice tan wool overcoat.
My fantasy self loves leopard but my real self doesn’t wear it. I’m very happy about the suede. I have suede low heeled boots in every color. I also got a green suede jacket with the tags still on it from Poshmark for $9 ! 💚
I stick with classics so I don't waste money, but I usually incorporate one or two inexpensive trends a year. In our current economy, staying within my budget is the most important thing.
Your jacket with the crop top is really cute on you. I just got a silk champagne colored skirt I’m loving. Great for this end of summer hot weather and will work well I to fall. Not sure why but I’ve never liked animal prints.
@@ANNAREID29 mee to. I got mine from Quince. I was really happy with the quality so I then ordered an ivory cammy/tank silk top that pairs well with it. Love all your videos. California here so hot Fall also.
Hi Anna, so I am skipping barn jacket, and cropped trench. I still haven’t got regular one 🤪. I sold my all Chanel jackets , so I might invest in one more sporty or casual looking one, or might not, cause I already replaced them with 4 Old Celine archives. Yes to silk dresses,, slip dresses, love all great to layer textures. Yes to long poofy skirt . Have Chanel one still . I will wear with t shirt or sweat shirt , to dress down. Might skip leopard too, I got boa snake print, it’s close enough 😝 I am thinking of getting fringe skirt too🤔. I don’t know trend or not, i saw someone wearing Old Celine dress , so chick. Timeless. And really I read on someone’s channel quote, which actually Coco Chanel quote “ who needs fashion , when one has style” I think it’s genius 😜 Have a blessed day🙏❤️
Ty so much. I actually take what you have said. Go in my closet and pull things I have and then add a few pieces. It’s a great asset watching your videos
I’m loving ALL of the new Fall trends. Will definitely be looking for suede items in vintage shops. Love your videos..and loving the longer hair on you 😊
Thank you for this video, Ms. Anna. I'm going to Blue Ridge for a fall trip and I'm getting tired of the skinny jean/knee high boots combo I'm always sporting every year for fall 😊 I definitely found a lot of fashion inspo. Can't wait to try the new styles you've recommended!❤
I'm not normally an animal print fan, because it DOES often look cartoonish. But if people doubt how great it can look, they just need to watch the "Ross Moves In" Friends episode from 1998, where Rachel wears a leopard coat to her fake regatta gala. It sold me on leopard print.
Leopard with derp mossy green looked great in an outfit at the Edith Head costume exhibit in Oklahoma City. Leopard isn’t usually my thing, but that was a great combination.
I love everything in this video! I'm so happy no ballet flats were here. I can't wear them because I need arch support in my footwear. You look so beautiful ❤❤❤
Without realizing they were trending I actually bought that madewell suede bucket bag, and a couple of crop trench. Now on my way to grab a pair of white pants, white maxi skirt, studded belt, and an animal print skirt 😅
Me, too. What brands do you like? I find that my spine is 1-2” too short for most tailored jackets to fit me properly without buckling in the back. I’m able to get sleeves shortened, but if the back buckles, then it’s just wrong for me.
Great tips for wearability. Love the barn jacket look. BTW Barbour is a brand name, high-end waxed jackets typically worn by British aristocrats in the countryside.
@@fiddlersthree8463 I realized too late when visiting the countryside in England that I had brought all the wrong colours. No one wears black or jewel tones! Khaki green, brown, etc. to blend in with the landscape. Also, our English friend said it's a big no-no to wear new country clothes. Everything should look like you've had it forever or it belonged to your grandparents. So vintage all the way!
No disrespect intended, but I’m so glad I don’t live in Florida-or anywhere else that stays warm all winter because I love fall/ winter clothes and coats! Even tho I’m always cold….lol😁
I LOVE the “lady-like” jackets but am an inverted triangle with a 38H top…they just make me look bigger because it’s so cropped and puts more width on my frame.
I just watched Selling LA. The girls are wearing the latest trends, a little over board but some work some don’t. As I’m watching I’m thinking of your previous videos. Thanks for sharing!
LL Bean early 90’s ‘barn’ coat was super trendy! I forget what we called it! Men and women wore them! However- my adult kids are in their 20’s and have zero interest in that type of jacket. One of the BF is a professional landscaper and he has worn his tan Carhartt for a few years. I love the olive jacket you are wearing- can you give a link?
I love that Leopard print is back I hung on to a few leopard scarves that I had bought the first time around. I love how the mid-rise leopard print pants looked on you.

For the last few years I’ve been ignoring the ‘no white after Labor Day’. I’m wearing what I want to wear…lol
@@Riley0310 this whole year I've been living in white and off white pants! You go girl! 😅
Sounds like you have your shopping cut out for you! 🙌🥰❤️
@@ANNAREID29 yes ma'am! Thanks to you!
I’m big chested and short, not into big boxy jackets but LOVE a tailored ladylike jacket
Didn't know that!!! I love that British country look -- Barbour (thank you!) jacket, mid-calf tweed skirt, boots. Maybe even a falcon on my arm!!
Younger preppy English guys wear them in the city for commuting too, though. They're a quiet luxury status symbol.
You look so cute in this video. Love the hair and the jacket!
I wore the pyjama print linen pants and was made fun of by my brother 😂
Family wants you to stay the same. Laugh it off.
Loving all of these, and I'm happy to have hung onto a couple of studded belts!
Love the trends you showed. I purchased a cropped trench about 2 years ago from Zara and I LOVE it.
I did purchase a cropped trench... waiting to receive it this week!! I also purchased a long leopard print trench coat and I love it!!!
No disrespect intended, but I’m so glad I don’t live in Florida-or anywhere else that stays warm all winter because I love fall/ winter clothes and coats! Even tho I’m always cold….lol😁
I agree Anna, cropped trench coats would be great here in Florida, replace the old Columbia nylon jackets! 😂
YES! lol how do we all have those 😂😂
The Carhartt Jacket? My dad had a small farm and would get those coats at the feed store...😂
“Barn jacket” - it’s called a field coat - I love mine - warmest jacket I own!
I loved them years ago. Mine is lined with flannel. So warm!
The Barbour ones are the epitome of male casual outerwear and have been forever! But they look great in all genders.
I got one at Costco for $10 last year. Score!
I scored a pair of 90s-style dark chocolate suede pants in my size (tall!) on ebay a few days ago, can't wait for them to arrive!
Working girl! Exactly. I've kind of been wondering if that will ever come back or if there are some people in New York City that still do that
I’m in love ❤ with the olive trench jacket 🥰 thanks Anna!!! Great video…saludos desde Puerto Rico 🇵🇷💕
Great video and tips! Im excited for the leopard print and studded belt ❤❤
Love your videos! Some fun trends I can wear. Love the silk skirts and preppy trend. Can’t do leopard at my age, but trousers with sneakers are ❤
I have a cropped Burberry trench from years ago! I've only worn it once or twice! So I'm very on trend!
Love your videos, Anna! ❤
Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
I LOVE the “lady-like” jackets but am an inverted triangle with a 38H top…they just make me look bigger because it’s so cropped and puts more width on my frame.
There is something for everyone out there.
@@EnnVee959 I agree! I can do anything that isn’t cropped!
Anna, love the way you pose, I'm a fan of your videos. Best regards from the Phil. 🇵🇭
Leopard is definitely worth hanging on to even when it goes “out” again! Always comes back ❤️❤️
