- This is the second video showing this install with a POV hat of the install. I tried to get a better camera angle for this video and for the most part it worked! There are a couple steps that the camera slipped and you can't see everything, sorry I didn't realize it till I was done. I talk you through it and if you keep watching you can see what was done after it's assembled. I have this video • 4L60E SHIFT PROBLEM FIXED I did before that shows it also.
For those that say you shouldn't put the Vette servo in a heavy vehicle, According to ATSG service manual, the following 4L60-E transmissions have the “Corvette” servo installed from the factory, based on the center hole dimension on the divider ring. The trans codes stamped on the passenger side pan rail on the trans are:
CHD CJD CKD CLD KCD KDD
Always check to see what the casting number is on the divider ring.
Thanks for your info. I had to watch you a couple of times to see how you got the snap ring back on. Got it thanks 👍
Hi. I have a 1995 228,000 miles Sierra 1500 pickup. Only symptom I have is delayed shift from 1st to 2nd. It waits until 2,700 to 3,100 rpms. I can usually make it upshift to 2nd by easing up on fuel pedal just a little for a moment. Does it hot or cold, in cold weather and warm.
Everything else works as it should. It will downshift from 2nd to 1st as it should. Fluid clean, good and exactly Full. Fuses all good. No CEL or codes stored. No visual leaks or consumption.
Is this the 1-2 solenoid / solenoid A failing, more than likely? Or the 2-4 Servo? Or the 1-2 Accumulator valve? I have no CEL or stored codes.
The camera aiming reminds of a bootleg movie I once bought, LOL, thanks for the vid anyway.
I bet it’s a lot of putting back in and putting ring back in under those conditions is rough.
Mine won't shift into second until you let way off gas and let it catch up, than wants to slip back into first if you try to accelerate to fast, and will shift straight to 1rst from 3rd if you step on it while it's in 3rd. I already changed the two cheap solenoids with no change. If I take it really easy and help it shift up by playing with gas a little bit seems to do fine. Still trying to figure it out.
hi, I have such a problem, I haven't fixed it yet. did you succeed?
@@a148ru I fixed mine by upgrading to a longer servo pin, replaced the accumulator Pistons with aluminum pinless ones, and installed a Corvette servo. Hopefully that helps.
@@jaywalla1337 happen to have a part # for the longer servo pin? Mines having the same issue as you stated. Thanks

Thanks I ended up welding a bead on top the pin and it worked. Is your trans still holding up?
I have a 4l60 that sometimes won't shit to second gear when this happens I need to come to a complete stop and place in park then back to drive and then she I fine for a while any ideals
Check the accumulator 1st
W0w me too😕
Thanks for video Danny
My question is wouldn't the 1-2 shift be also fixed with a standard servo and new sealing rings? I ordered the Corvette servo for my Avalanche but I'm thinking the reason the second gear isn't there is a fluid pressure escaping problem and the tolerances of the old part and the seals being 200,000 miles old and that the repair doesn't necessarily need to be a Corvette or performance part. Just my .02 cents.....
Great vid how to use pry bar to push it in .
I'm doing this tomorrow now I know I don't have to pull the trans out 👍
Thanks
Thanks for watching!
Why can’t we see what your doing putting back together
I have Chevy Colorado 2011 2.9l engine, 60k miles, when I put in drive there is delay like 1-2 seconds before is in 1st gear, i got stuck one time in snow and i was shifting drive-reverse many times before i got out, since then i have delay always when i shift from parking to drive, everything else is working good, but I would like to fix that delay, what I should do/change ?
Could be a number of things. I don't get that deep into a 4L60 without a rebuild. Sonnax makes some upgrade pins and pistons that may be able to help yours.
Did u fix it I’m Having the same issue
@@Landon405l didn’t do nothing yet, still have 2 seconds delay every time when put from parking to drive, it shifts normal between all other gears, I was thinking to change solenoids and to put new oil and new filter.
why wouldthe servo to the band affect 1-2 shift?
The servo applies fluid pressure to the 2-4 band which holds the drum and is part of the equation that results in both 2nd and 4th gears. When these servos fail, the pin that is in the middle of the servo that pushes the band to grip the drum doesn't get enough pressure to do it's job and you burn it up and/or lose those gears.
is it neccesary drain transmission oil from oil pan?
Nope, not necessarily.
Thanks for the info from your average Joe.
Are the sealing rings made of metal or plastic?
Not sure what they're made of but not metal.
Lot better than taking it to the trans shop! Good video didn’t seem to involved!
As long as you don't damage a seal.
Tanks brother 🇺🇸🇨🇦🇲🇽 4 ever
I just put the corvette servo today on the same exact car it sucked to change cause on my heat Shield it hangs on the transmission and the bolt was seized so I had to bend it lmao
I was told the O-ring is a upgrade
Kinda sucks, just got a jasper in my silverado and the delay for 1-2 shift is driving me up a wall.
do u have part nymber?
Sometimes it’s not in trans that cause this I had one was slipping thought it was gone took it to a guy who owned trans shop he said look good. But I figured it out pcm was bad sending a bad signal I tried that and it was fixed
Do i just look up corvette servo kit 4l60e???
Great video. Any chance I can get a link to where I can buy it. And will this fit my 08 4L60e trans?
Will fit up to 2013 4l60e

How much would a transmission shop charge for this job & if I supply the parts?
Cool
Is this a joke lol you can’t see anything after camera slips
What problem were you having with the 1-2 shift ?
A soft sliding feel to it. Kinda like it slips, delay between gear changes.
@@slow_restoration Yeah, I just bought the 2nd gear Sonnax Servo Kit... I hope that helps (at least a little) with the slipping and slow gear changes (1-2), but you know I'll have to drop the transmission... sooner than later...
Everything youre trying to show is just out of frame... im sure thats the complaints u were speaking of in the beginning
Horrible video that started out ok, please edit before posting.
It sucks your camera is above the parts you're working on, now I've wasted time and have to watch another video where I can see the process clearly. Maybe refill and edit those parts
