Right now, I am looking for an EDC organizer and this video series just clarified the things for me, I'm going to buy the Vanquest! Thanks TheUrbanPrepper
My Brother In Law was here Thanksgiving, and oooo'ing and Ahhing on my various maxpedition kits, (EDC, tool kits, First Air, Fire Kit), and it became an obvious Christmas choice. I did mention that Vanquest was a contender too, and revisiting your old videos, I think that will be my pick. Mostly bases on the staggered stitching, and the better visibility from the orange backing.
I was surprised to see the Vanquest lose in the water test since they have the inverted protected zipper teeth design. It would have been nice to see that drag test done in conjunction with the stuff test so we could see how well they protected the gear inside if you ever get dragged like Indiana Jones lol. Great video!
mixflip LOL! Love the Indiana Jones comment. Yes, I am trying to fine tune the Drag Testing. I'd like to get it to a point that will be easily replicated and beneficial in terms of wear and tear.
The results of these tests are very conclusive for your needs. Personally I like the look and feel of the Maxpedition products more, especially their smaller organizers that I use for pocket organization. I'm sure the Vanquest is a great product, but there's not enough of a difference to convince me to change my systems as they are all still very capable products from Maxpedition.
Thanks for the thorough and helpful review. I would choose the Vanquest for the reasons you mentioned and because, frankly, I think they look nicer. And that matters when it comes to edc.
Sadly, the elastic straps inside my Maxpedition Fatty have already stretched after two months and none of my tools will stay in place. Guess it's time to upgrade to the Vanquest. Thanks for the informative and detailed reviews!
Great Comparison and Showdown! I have both EDC's and you could hardly go wrong with either as you indicated. I do like the extra pockets, handle, color separation on the inside and the additional backside slots on the Vanquest. Just a note: I also have the Vanquest Micro (or their version of the Micro) and have found this particular zipper on this smaller pouch to be much harder to open and close than on the Maxpedition (maybe the inverted zipper is a bad choice here?). However, that's another Showdown! Either EDC bag will last a lifetime probably - unless you drag it behind a car that is! Thanks for review. I agree that in the end, Vanquest noses out Maxpedition on the EDC anyway.
Dennis Grecco Thanks for the great comment! That is good to know regarding the Micro version. I'll need to keep an eye out for that. I enjoy doing these throwdown videos. They're a lot of fun for me to film. Hopefully in the summer I will have more sunny days so these individual Throwdown videos won't be spaced as far apart.
I know there's a lot more to take from this video than wow you have a Honda Element I don't know if you have a video of how you set it up but if you don't could you?
Time to Pick up VANQUEST ....Maxpediition was my go to; but after viewing all your amazing tests, it is quite obvious...Hello Vanquest; Good by Maxpedition ..thank you U.P. for the great videos !! Cheers
I'm currently trying to get a to a less "tactical" look for my EDC Stuff, starting from the BAckpack to the Bags inside my Backpack (I've organized my EDC Stuff in Little Kits, simmilar to your system)... Currently "testing" (Means using :D) mostly Amazon Basics stuff... going to see where this is going or if I'm switching back to the "tactical" Look in the future :D (Even it's cheaper at with the less tactical stuff... but let's see) :D
***** Sorry, neither video nor picture. (But I coulk make at least some pictures if recommended :D) Currently I'm using - The Amazon Basics AB102 Laptop Backpack (as the Pack of course :D) www.amazon.de/gp/product/B00EEBS9O0?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00 and the - Amazon Basics Electronics Universal Bag (I don't klnow the correct english name, sorry) for my electronics. www.amazon.de/gp/product/B002VPE1QG?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00 - For my "Office" (Pens, etc) I'm Using a Condor Mini Pocket Organizer - For "Hygiene" I carry the Bag of my McNett MicroNet Towel (I also carry the Towel) - for other compardments I'm using some small bags (very similar to those "Husky Bags" I often see in Videos from the US) That's it mostly. Maybe it was helpfull
***** If you care: I switched my backpack again, back tomething... not really military(tactical looking, but more sporty and more comfortable... the amazon basics turned out to be not so comfortable wearing & using...
BuckeyeExpat You're welcome. If you continue to have problems tracking one down, let me know. I can look around for European dealers and ask the folks at Vanquest directly.
TheUrbanPrepper Thanks that's really generous of you. I have already checked out all my favourite online shops and the usual amazon on all of the European sites and no luck. I will keep looking but do let me know if they have a European distributor cheers!
Exactly - I also tried to get something from Vanquest (VPacker Tolcat left-side-carry to be specific) but their english dealer has almost nothing available ...
Not sure Maxpedician should have won on price because if you order directly from Vanquest it's actually less expensive. What's the model number of the winner please? Going to buy it. Thanks.
Very good video as always! I really enjoy seeing all the content you put out, I was going to buy a maxpedition purely because everyone else has one but after watching the series I think I will buy a vanquest!
***** I'm glad you enjoy my videos, Reece. I'm also happy to hear that this series has been helpful to your purchase decision. You can't go wrong either way, but I think you will get a better product overall with the Vanquest organizer.
***** Haha... I’m just a normal dude, Reece. :) It’s always fun to interact with people who enjoy watching my videos. Thank you so much for supporting my channel. I’ll keep cranking out new videos as quickly as I can.
I dont have either EDC organizer. Thanks for giving me some heads up on this. My biggest beef with zippered things is that over time zippers can tend to get stuck... Any idea on which one of these will perform better from a strictly zipper lifespan standpoint?
Chad Solberg I think both zippers are equal, other than the Vanquest being inverted. Both are YKK and use paracord pullies. I've NEVER had a problem with either EDC organizer zipper through all of my testing. Both companies have great zippers, in my opinion.
is the vanquest the slim version? on the website the husky shows the webbing on the right side vertical in the center not horizontal like in the video.
Tenderfoot Prepper Haha... I won't be getting rid of my Maxpedition products. I still think they are great. Vanquest is raising the bar from a modern design standpoint though.

Great series and both great items.

I purchased the Vanquest EDC Husky after seeing these videos and I love it.
Jeff Walther Nice! Glad these videos have helped you.

05generic You're very welcome. I totally agree. Appearance is important for EDC.
Sadly, the elastic straps inside my Maxpedition Fatty have already stretched after two months and none of my tools will stay in place. Guess it's time to upgrade to the Vanquest. Thanks for the informative and detailed reviews!
Sweet! Been debating on a pouch for a while now. Made up my mind on the Vanquest, mainly do to the stitching and space. Thanks for all of your reviews!
machendachen You can't go wrong either way, but Vanquest raises the EDC Organizer bar (in my opinion).

I am interested in the micro. Do you know the name of Vanquests micro?
Which one fits best while also fitting the most in a cargo pants pocket? Thanks
Thanks for this. I have the max fatty which does very well, however I have learned alot here and will consider the Vanguard in my next purchase

What happened to your OPMOD vs. Operator throwdown? I only saw two or three episodes.
