Right. You just don't feed them anymore by caring, getting upset, angry, sad. They cannot control you anymore. They cannot own you or emotionally enslave you. That hurts them the most. You hit the nail on the head with the analogy of them feeling like they are starving and that they feel that they need to feed on you in order to survive. That is how they feel. So for them to ruin your life feels like nothing to them - they are just trying to survive. However, some of these tactics can cause them to rage at you. But that feels so good after the months or years that they have spent causing anger in you and not caring. But also, you have to remember that some of these tactics will only work on some but not all because most narcissists are consummate liars. And they lie to themselves most of all. Great video!

Rebecca, you have an amazing channel and I have been gaining so much validation and advice from it.
There’s one thing I disagree with you on that I hear over and over not just from you but UA-camrs in general.
Narcissists are not created from childhood wounds. Most people have wounds from childhood, and many have atrocious wounds and they turn out as honest people.
The difference is that the Narcissist CHOOSES to not face their wounds whatsoever, to cheat instead, and what I have found to be the most common in my experiences, over and over, and in observation, is that they have betrayed one parent against another in order to spoil themselves as children up until adulthood levels off at about 23 years old.
They fear people discovering their abuses, lies and theft they use to cheat their way through life, and even worse, for the parent they betrayed to find out about it. That is their dying pill and worst nightmare.

Focusing on restoring one's own balance in the aftermath of a relationship with a narcissist is a far more valuable pursuit than maneuvering to worsen the narcissist's life situation.
Distance creates a buffer zone that controls unwanted access, time, and any information that needs to be protected from a narcissist's intrusion. Establishing distance and shoring up that buffer zone will provide the space needed to recover.
How a narcissist seeks to self-aggrandize should pose no concern for anyone simply wanting to move on.

I've found that they really don't like being treated the same as everyone else. Whilst I havnt got the time for their attitude, their yelling and belittling doesn't bother me. In the past I've stood there and taken it, waiting for an opportunity to ask a question that would basicly be 'reverse psychology', and made them give their abrasive answer that was actually in my favour, and said 'OK cool'. That hurts them big time because it not that I won, its that they made themselves loose.🙂

How to navigate in this situation to the best for all, is still today a challenge for me. And probably will always be. Good that it gives at least help for victims 🥰. you like to play football as long as it doesn't deal with a football or a football field. #4 May or may not be effective. In many cases, it may have the opposite effect intended and embolden them because narcissists may not necessarily be the "depressed" personalities displayed in this video. In quick summary, this explanation actually proves to me that the commonly held belief that indifference damages the narcissists more than any other response it is more TRUE than FALSE. In practice, I have never found any technique like indifference that gets into the mindset of a human being in such a negative way. Humans are hardwired over thousands of generations to need these forms of psychological stimulation, even harmful stimulation, over none at all.

advice 2.5 : I get caught in a love triangle between a girlfriend, a narcissist, and I. We wanted the same girl, so he rapidly became more and more agressive and upset against me. The last day, before my departure, him and I had a conversation, during which he innocently asked me < If I could live there >, where we were at that time. I suspected he was fishing for informations, so I gave him this answer : < I can't right now, but I will try my best, because I know it would make [girlfriend's name] very happy if I could stay. We talked about that earlier in vacations, and I will try my best. >
He fell silent, turned red, and changed the subject one minute later. It was the truth, anyway, the girl and I really had this conversation, because she was trying to "pack" her closest friends around her, in the same area, as a community.
Next morning, at work, the girlfriend told me he had been very nervous and stressed, after we had this conversation. But she had no idea why.

Demonstrate self control. You are unaffected by what the narcissist says and does. Or, what they don't say and do. Nothing affects you. It will drive them bonkers guaranteed. They have very little or none of their own. They might pretend to for awhile. Eventually they're overwhelmed by their inability to control things within and outside themselves. Key: Accept that they are what they are and that there's nothing that you can do to make relations with them healthy.
