really well made an informative guide. a suggestion would maybe be putting some instructions up on screen, especially for 20xx commands to make it easier to follow/rewatch
If you want, go to general and player flags, and set P2 action to "wait" and just go to versus with a p2 CPU. You'll get the same result as training mode but with 20xx AI
+Dorgannn Shoot you're right. I forgot that was a thing since I don't often kill the CPU and I usually practice stuff like this at 0%. I'll add an annotation to the video.
+WhollyMax Unfortunately, there's no good way to do that as far as I'm aware. CPU codes don't work in v4.05, but even in v3, if you set a CPU code, they'll stop teching. You'd have to request achilles to add this as a feature... Something along the lines of "configurable CPU wake-up options" would be pretty useful. The closest you can get at the moment is in v4.05, where in CPU codes you set shield propensity up to 100. Still though, this probably isn't very close to the solution you're hoping for.
+generaldair I think the only way you can do that is if you made a backup of the default melee ISO. I could be wrong though. You could try just updating the files to the 4.05 version, but idk if that would work.
Sal J. Yes. Tech chasing is when you chase after their tech to continue your punish/advantage. Doing it on reaction guarantees you don't guess incorrectly and can always follow up provided you are fast enough.
how would i go about giving the cpu an even split for the 2 tech rolls, and 0% chance for notech/tech in place? as sheik im trying to running dsmash the spacies tech rolls on reaction (but reading the fact that theyll choose a tech roll). also, i wanna get the cpu to di away but i dont know how. im currently just setting the DI to vanilla and doing the method where im on the right side of the cpu, d-throw, regrab, press start (in training mode), unpause, d-throw which makes the cpu di away, but that's kinda tedious. if you know a better way i'd rly appreciate
Damn we were just about to do this lol. But I think you probably did a better job than I would have
+SSBM Tutorials collab
SSBM Tutorials make one anyway for the people who dont follow this channel
Nice vid! Informative, short, and to the point. Thanks for posting

+altweirdcool cool, thanks for the feedback

restore annotations for youtube addon is really good, at 0:48 there is an annotation correcting what is being said in the video.
can't you set the damage in training mode? that way you don't have ro beat them to 45% again
+Dorgannn Shoot you're right. I forgot that was a thing since I don't often kill the CPU and I usually practice stuff like this at 0%. I'll add an annotation to the video.
why isn't there a way to set Get up attack? Its one of the main componants to tech chasing
i miss u :(
Very well done tutorial. Liked
How do you turn off training ui in 20xx 4.07?
I haven't tried 4.07 yet, but I've been told it works the same. Double check that you have develop mode turned on
thank you!!
thx
The menus are slightly different for 20xxte. is there anyway you could do an updated guide? Or post a link to the build of 20xx that you're using?
figured it out. Here's the link to the build smashboards.com/threads/the-20xx-melee-training-hack-pack-v4-05-update-3-17-16.351221/
Yep, I use 20XX v4.05. Sorry I couldn't respond to you, my computer's broken, so I'm much less active than normal at the moment.
No worries man. the video was really helpful
Thanks, I'm glad it helped. Just remember to set the values to 25/33/50 for an even chance on each option.
Is there a way to make a spacie shine upon wakeup?
+RayHigaJumba2 Not in 4.05 or 100% of the time, but in v3.02, go into training mode and fox will shine after he techs something like 80% of the time.
Okay, I think I'll just use your method then, watched an earlier video and it seems pretty good. I gotta make sure to adjust the ratios though.
Is there any way to make the cpu shield on first possible frame?
+WhollyMax Unfortunately, there's no good way to do that as far as I'm aware.

WhollyMax 20xxte can do the shield and they tech tho
How do u update 20xx without downloading it again?
+generaldair I think the only way you can do that is if you made a backup of the default melee ISO. I could be wrong though. You could try just updating the files to the 4.05 version, but idk if that would work.
Thanks for the feedback. I have version 4.05 now, no problem!
Cool, did you have a backup of the default melee iso?
No i just had to download it again, but it works so its ok. :D
Can't they tech the D-throw?
Sal J. Yes. Tech chasing is when you chase after their tech to continue your punish/advantage. Doing it on reaction guarantees you don't guess incorrectly and can always follow up provided you are fast enough.
Isn't it 33/33/33 for even split??
Nope, I thought that at first but I've since been corrected. The logic is: "If above is not true then X chance to do this".

+Spark 50/100/0 for tech options to be 50/50 left/right. Changint the cpu di to survival will give them optimal TDI, 50% in, 50% away
this is really where spark learned to tech chase XD
comic sans :(
+yung latios Not a fan? I can change it for next time... Have a suggestion?
Wow you people needed do do all this to practice rtc? Weird times
