Really enjoying Tin doing these product installs as I find he is very thorough with his descriptions and instructions. Another product I really need to look at getting but does it interfere with the Kaon BCDC bracket that I already have?
Does Kaon (ie transmission cooler in particular ) has an authorized dealer in the USA? Also do the mounting brackets fit on the Lexus GX 460? Thank you for your assistance.
Hi there, We don't think the brackets will work for the GX460, as it's not diesel and the petrol models in our experience usually have their own factory cooler. You might be able to make it work, but it would not be plug and play.
The trans cooler adds extra cooling capacity to the entire engine cooling system since the ATF fluid still passes through the factory cooler inside the radiator. Even though the cooler will slightly block and heat up the air passing through to the radiator, the extra cooler should help reduce engine temperatures by reducing the heat load on the radiator. Cooler ATF temperatures will mean the radiator does not need to work as hard.
Keen for you to put together a Trans cooler Kit for the Prado 120 4ltr V6 as i assume it would be very similar to the 150 with some minor mods like brackets. Please provide some feedback here (noting there is a 120 kit available from a well known east coast trans shop but it is pricey for what it is)
I just checked my 07 GXL 120 V6 and realised it already has a factory external Trans cooler mounted on the Left (passenger) side and that is also where the entry/exit points to the internal cooler inside the radiator are. One line from the trans goes direct to the upper connection on the radiator, the other line from the Trans goes direct to the external cooler, the lower connection for internal cooler goes direct to the external cooler to complete the circuit. The factory external trans cooler is smaller than the cooler product you show in this video for the 150 conversion. My question is it worth switching out the factory cooler for a larger version like yours? or just leaving existing factory cooler as it is?
Anyone know if the jdm prado 2023 comes standard with a transmission cooler, as i seem to have another coolant reservoir right side of the existing engine coolant..unless this is the egr coolant reservoir?
We can't fully comment on this, but our opinion is that lock up tunes are better for highway and constant load towing. For start stop and slower driving patterns, the torque convertor cannot stay locked and will generate heat which needs to be managed. A cooler will assist in both situations. A lock up tune or modification will potentially save fuel but if heat the main priority, a cooler is better. Tin has both lock up kit and cooler in the FJ. He doesn't use the lock up function anymore as it can be a bit harsh when shifting and only worked above 80km/h.
There is a thermo fan on the RHS, so that is why coolers are mounted on the LHS on the Prado. The Redarc bracket (BCDCMB-003) fits with our new cooler kit. It sits further across to the left.
As always I have only good words for your videos, excellent explanation as well as all the products you manufacture.
@@GAP08350 thanks for the kind words and your support!
Yet another amazing innovation from KAON ❤
@@Rob.Salta90 thank you!
Perfect timing. This is the next Kaon upgrade to my 150. Thank you for fantastic products
@@roberttenberge1769 awesome to hear! Thank you for the support.
Thanks, I’ll be looking at one soon!

Hi there, it sure does! Works with the KAON or REDARC DCDC bracket.
Looks good
I think I see the front tie down hooks, no recovery points installed?
@@marklaurendet1861 not on this vehicle - this was a fairly unmodified customer car, primarily a tow vehicle! 😊

Does blocking the radiator affect engine temps?

i cant seem to find a kit for the petrol version? mines a 150 series v6

Hey guys is this new unit already advertised on your website? And will this be compatible with the dcdc charger already fixed around the same area?
It sure is! The SKU is KS0766. If you have our DCDC bracket or the Redarc DCDC bracket it is compatible.

Will this work on US 5th Gen 4Runner?
@@Tigermeg816 we aren’t able to confirm this just yet sorry. Will put it to the team and see what they say!
Why can't yours and other brand coolers go on rhs. My Factory Redarc bracket is on lhs. A lot of people run Redarc Bec's.
my issue too. redarc charger is in this spot
