- This is my first YT video discussing my current planning system. I love being organized and being efficient with my time. My goal is to upload a minimum of one video per month (more if possible). Please let me know if you have any questions or video suggestions. TFW!
This video is still my ultimate favorite that I go back and watch whenever I start up and set up a new planner.
I think I have watch your videos a billion times. As a Master degree student and someone who AD/HD I often suffer from missing deadlines or not being prepare and a lot of your organizational tips have been very helpful. I thank you for taking the time out of your busy schedule to make these types of videos. I cannot wait for your next upcoming videos.
Thank you so much Shajarena! My best advice is to check your planner every morning, during your lunch, when you get home, and before you go to bed. This ensures you keep your schedule & tasks at the top of your mind. This has helped me with anxiety and procrastination. I just posted 3 videos this weekend. I hope you check them out! TFW!!!

Thank you Outi! For me, function comes first, but it is always easier to use when it is pretty! I feel like my brain is all scrambled and disorganized, so it makes me feel better when my planner is neat and beautiful to look at. TFW!!!

You are welcome! I love kraft paper and writing on it with white pen. The thin kraft paper does have some show through on the other side, but for my lists, I don't find it to be much of a problem. TFW!!!

Really love the idea with the mini task lists to tick off on the sides in your moleskine. I def have to find a way to get this into my filofax weekly pages somehow :) would be fun to see an update when school has started!
I have been using a new system since school started and it's going well. I have not been using the mini task list but I would like to incorporate it somehow. I'll be doing an updated setup video this weekend and if I figure something out after that, I will let everyone know! :)

love the idea of using a hole punch to make small circle template, and am thinking of using a colored highliter to dab on the circle while the template is in place. Thanks for the inspiration.

LOL! I didn't realize I could put that much stuff in either! I have moved into my ochre malden and am loving how much I can put in there. I still want to utilize my compact for another purpose but it is holding unused inserts for now. I will continue to update everyone when I find new uses for all of my filofaxes! TFW!!!!

First of all, you are probably my favorite Filofaxer I've ever found. And I've seen a LOT of youtube videos! Second of all, what brand of white pen do you use? I use a gelly roll and I can't seem to get it opaque enough for my liking on washi!

Your writing is beautiful. I know this is an old video so I imagine you have moved on to different systems but I like how tidily you organise.
I was alarmed to hear you put bleach in your washing machine. A washing machine repairman told me that bleach damages the machine. It won't hurt a steel drum, but anything plastic will disintegrate, similar to leaving it in the sun. He mentioned that the mechanics inside don't cope with it. Bleach on anything plastic turns yellow within a few applications and the disintegration process has begun. I suggest using Cleaning Vinegar instead. It will help to remove scum build up and disinfect your machine. Just one cup in your regular wash will do.
Replace fabric softener with Cleaning Vinegar and you will do your clothes, machine and environment good.

I did say Midori! To be honest, I have not used it much lately because school has started. I was thinking I could go through my old MTN notebooks and setup in the meantime as I am not ready to do a true "set-up video" yet. What do you think? +Organized Living Thank you! I film with an iPad mini that is in a stand-up case. In my other videos I use an acrylic stand and put a box underneath to prop it up for a better angle. I hope that helps and TFW!!!
I love filofaxs and ring bound planners i buy them used cheap from charity shops i use difones for different things .

Lots and lots of practice! lol Since I can remember, I have practiced my handwriting and tried different techniques. I continue to look at pinterest and instagram for handwriting ideas/tips/techniques. Also, I always write slowly at first. When I am used to writing a certain way, then my speed picks up. :) Have a great day!

The journaling cards I purchased from Target and I believe the brand is called We R Memory Keepers. They are available in a variety of sizes and have the cutest patterns, but are also effective planning tools! Hope this helps. TFW!!!
How in the world do you do your lettering... I love it!
I just free-hand my lettering. I doodle in class and in my daily diary/planner. I have actually been doing lettering my entire life. I love pretty handwriting and penmanship. I am working out how to do a handwriting video for everyone. Look for more videos soon! TFW!!!

how much time during your week do you spend planning out your week? I find that to be the most challenging is sitting down to fill in my Filofax.
I spend approximately 15 minutes per day planning in my filofax. I have found myself grabbing a piece of paper during class and writing down tasks as I think of them. Then, when I get a break or at the end of the day, I transfer those into my filofax. In a week, I would guess it is probably a total of 2 hours. If I am decorating, making inserts, or rearranging things, that will add on extra time depending on how much I have to spare. Right now, I have not been doing anything extra; just the bare minimum and I am doing very well so far this semester. My trick is to just open up the planner! As long as I look at what I need to do, I have less of a chance of avoiding those things that I do not look forward to. Hope that helps! Maybe I should do another video on this......hmmmmm. lol

I use a Sakura Gelly Roll pen and my local Michael's sells these pens individually. You can also buy set/packs through Amazon. Hope that helps and TFW!!!!

I recently purchased these marker pens and love them for calligraphy and decorative writing. More videos to come soon! TFW July!!!!!

i use white pen, too! on black construction paper (i make my own post-its) b/c it really stands out. i use the uni-ball signo, but don't love it. do you recommend yours? also, good luck on law school - i finished two years ago. thanks!

+calisongbird hi! I cut up black construction paper into 3x3 pieces and use repositionable glue on end on one side of all the pieces. there are a few videos on UA-cam on DIY page flags that are essentially the same thing.

Rachel, where would I find the craft paper that you are using? Also, do you know if anyone sells it with lines printed on it? I really love using graph paper for my every day writing so if I could find some craft paper that has the graph lines on it, that would be outstanding for me!! Thanks ~ Kristen
That would be amazing! I have not found craft paper w/ graph lines on it, but if you search on Amazon for craft refills, there are some with pre-printed lines. I also use thin craft paper I found on Amazon from a store called Kikkerland (sp?). I hope that helps! TFW!!!
Very impressive. What pen are you using when it looks like script font? Videos like this are why I chose to use a Filofax to begin with and not go digital with my planning.
Thank you! I have never had much success with digital planning, that's why I love my paper planners. :) I mostly use the Staedtler triplus fineliners when I am doing "calligraphy" type writing. TFW!!!!
I really love your organizor! Is this A5 format? Or is it smaller?
It is a personal size filofax. I have 2 A5s but they are currently not being used at the moment. Hope that helps! :)

Where did you get your inserts? :) I love them ...
I get my inserts from a variety of places and some I make myself. The grid paper I use is from a Moleskine cahier, the WO2P for my schedules & tasks is from Filofax and the other WO2P is from the Barnes and Nobles Punctuate planner. I hope that helps! TFW!!!!
