Yes! Only a few min in and this is already exactly what I need rn. You’re the only YT planner channel that is helpful as a normal person just trying to casually plan my life. Thank you for your practical, non consumerism content!
This is the first planner video in five years that has actually inspired me to get out my old, unused planner and start using it! Thank you. Your suggestions are practical and not intimidating at all.
You did the video at the right time for me. December went so fast and now just realizing that Jan starts soon. I like the quick set up without going into great detail of things.
This was SURPRISINGLY helpful! Yes, I did start setting up my new planner at 9:30 on Dec 31 lol. You really helped me out in terms of fitting all the parts together and migrating the sections into the monthly brain dump. Thanks muchly!
It's now the 3rd of Jan and I've procrastinated touching my new hobonichi because I couldn't decide exactly how to fill it 🙈 this video is a godsend, going to rewatch a few times while I add some sticky notes!! Thank you Rachelle!! 🥹🫶
My planner was already mostly set up, but I hadn't worked on "goals" yet. Thanks for the push to get started with sticky notes, so no pressure! I actually thought about long term goals in early December and started work on them right away, so I have some good ideas about what's is likely to work for me in 2025.
Thankyou!! This is so helpful! I always struggle with planning because i never understood the flow of preplanning as most of the things are unpredictable. Your way of planning is really flexible and has a flow and proper breakdown of goals!!!! ❤
I like the idea of drawing in your own weeks/months/year in an undated planner, but after years of buying notebooks with that in mind, i buy dated planners only. I found a weekly planner this time in A5 hardcover, where 1/3 of the pages are weekly spread and the rest is notebook, now I don’t have to worry running out of notebook pages. I always fill in holidays and spesial occasions like birthdays before the year begins. I use my weekly spread to keep track of work hours, write to do lista and reminders on sticky notes, budget, appointments, my kids activities, and sometimes meal planning/ exercise diary/diary. In the notes section I write down the essence of important phonecalls or meetings, write my detailed budget every months, grocery lists, brain dump etc. In other words my whole life.
I found you yesterday and love your ideas, spreads, and style! I'm finally getting back to the bullet journal habit - was on-off post-pandemic and now I really want to get back to it in 2025 :)
Can I give you 5 thumbs ups for this video? PLEASE?? Because WOW... noone has ever explained it this way.... i just get it now!! I honestly never understood the flow of preplanning as most of the things are unpredictable and I don't like to write things down ahead of time for fear they will change (I'm weird like that) but this technique gives me all I need to get started. THANK YOU!!
Hi. Would you be so kind and copy an exact link for the planner? When I search for undated common planner, a zillion different ones come up. I like how Rachelle’s has sections already somewhat marked off in quadrants (weeks, months as possibilities). Thank you, Jacqueline. Sandra
Will rewatch tomorrow, December 31, and hopefully January won't blindside me! I have a bit more setup needed with a bullet journal, but getting down the most important and urgent stuff you've covered will definitely help me more than setting up all the trackers I want to use
This was seriously so useful - the whole year broad goal overview for each month + month braindump and eisenhower matrix I'll definitely be using when my sterling ink planner (finally) arrives to me in Australia!
Papertess B5 Manager's in black. Found it on your channel earlier and ordered it immediately. A few days into 2025 and I am really loving it. Thank you.
I use power sheets. I really like how you brain dump and tackle prioritization it reduces the anxiety and overwhelm. I struggle with creating actionable tasks that are time bound. Thank you for sharing!
I am sooo late getting my planners this year. It is 12/29 and I have purchased NOTHING! Ugh! I’ve changed my planner system for 2024 a little bit too drastically and did not stick with anything. This whole year has been a struggle… Gotta do better 2025!
With this planner set up I can see how this has a simplicity that I like. Doesn't seem overwhelming or complicated. I am going to give this a try! Question... Do you carry your planner with you?
Now that the immediate steps are set up, though, what are the next ones? Do you recommend sticking with sticky notes for projects? How can we whittle down our goals to a reasonable level, any tips? Any previous videos that answer these questions? 😂
Did I miss which video you talk more about the capture method? I've confused myself by watching a bunch of your videos out of order. Love your content. I'm going to achieve my goals! This is super helpful. I never was taught about setting goals.
I don’t have a dedicated video about the capture method but I have a bunch of videos on planner systems or productivity systems where I talk about the four parts of a productivity system! Maybe I should do a series that deep dives into each part? 🤔😄
@RachelleinTheory you know what, I found what i was looking for. Your video from 4 weeks ago where you talk about your pocket notebook. I need to start doing this. I will deep dive on whatever your speaking of. My brain is chaos and any content on organization, time management and goal setting, I can't get enough of. I'm really close, I've narrowed down 5 goals I want to achieve and am pin pointing how to get there and also WHY. I'm referring to the page I wrote them down on everyday but now I need to start detailing weekly goals to achieve the main goals. I tend to lose focus and then fall off the wagon. Need a pocket notebook ASAP! Thank you!
And tips on how to manage a date range in a planner? For continuous and/or connected dates. Eg. a grant or exhibition might have an eight-week submission window, or I need to buy tickets in December for an event in April.
I think this is what the future log could be for. If you know you’ll be traveling in July, say, and you need to buy plane tickets in April, in the April section of your future log you could write a reminder to buy tickets for the July trip. That’s what I would do!
me literally sitting here with one of the trackers in my 2024 planner running out today (because of the moon phase) and trying to figure out how to set up the two 2025 planner options i have (one really similar to my 2024 planner and one experiement option). a planner emergency for real lol
How did you know my new A5 SI was sitting on my shelf mocking me for not setting it up yet? 😂 I’m transitioning from a big spiral planner and I think I’m nervous about the change.
It seems a little excessive and like rework to have both an analog planning system and to use a digital one too like XTiles. I get that the digital service may offer some features analog doesn't but it seems very inefficient to track things in two places.
Some people are required to use an online calendar that you wouldn't/can't share with others. Or others find it easier to keep study/personal/work/children etc separate. For example, I only have my planner at home, if I'm out and about it just check my monthly page to book an appointment etc. Everyone's different, it might seem excessive to you, but might work brilliantly for others.
nah, I will just use the same ordinary notebook I planned the last 3 years in. I am about a halfway thru. I planned the 24 small goals to achieve by the end of march. Let's see how many can I do till the end of January! Wouldn't it be amazing if I would have them all done in February? Whatever my success is, I won't give up. Even if I would need a whole year to get this 24 things done, I will have 24 things done of which more than half would not be done. I will be 24 steps closer to my dreams becoming reality. When I get it all done, I will add more goals to the list. And then more again. My dreams will be real. I know it. All of the people saying that most people fail their new year resolutions, so why bother are idiots. Last year I gave myself 42 goals. I did 28. I have spent about 20 hours in the last week of 2024. working on turning the last 3 real. This year I know I was overly ambitious in 2024. I am giving myself 24 goals that WILL BE DONE, no questions asked. I will try to do them as soon as possible. After that , the new goals are coming to my list. In the worst case scenario, my "you can't do it" dream will be real 5 years from now. In the best case scenario that same"unrealistic" dream I had since childhood will be real in less than a year. I suggest everyone to make a new year resolution and stick to it. The new year has started about half an hour ago. I will now watch some videos and then go to sleep. Tomorrow after breakfast I am starting to work on my goal number one. I believe I can do it in 2 days, maybe even just 1. I will try and see how fast it could be done. Let's also try to do 4 till Tuesday! That is 7 days. I know I can theoretically do it. What about the practice?
Ive been so overwhelmed trying to figure out how to make a planner and watching so many videos. Your video is perfect! Thank you for making it so easy. 🩷

This literally fills me with so much joy 😭 thank you for your comment!
Wonderful. Exactly what I needed right before 2025 as my B5 sits there in the corner staring at me judging me for not getting down to business yet 😂

I got an undated common place for this year and love it so far. I jumped in it in December. Wonderful planner setup tips. Thank you!

I love that uniball multipen/pencil! I have the Totoro one!
Thank you for the Audiotrack! It is so helpful for me. 👍🏼❤️
So helpful. I’m a bit overwhelmed and couldn’t get started this year. Thanks!
Yay! Always coming through right on time! As I sit here so confused on what planners I want to use and for what .. it's an entire mess.
Happy Early Birthday! Congratulations on 12 years with your partner!
Wow! I had the same idea but was missing the goals and calendar section 😂❤
Happy New Years!
Great approach! Thank you!

What brand is that planner ?
Sterling Ink common planner
Please what is that cover?

What pens, markers, and highlighters do you use? Thanks!
Do you have a video on the Eisenhower Matrix?
