Rachel, I know you’re super busy with your professional life probably, but just know that there’s a lot of people who still reference your old planner videos. If you ever made an update video on your planning style today, I would be the first to watch. You’re still my favorite planner UA-cam content creator!!!
Absolutely LOOOVE your planner. It’s so creative and personal. Love that you do all the design instead of buying the same pages and inserts as everyone else! You could give workshops. You are very talented !!!!
I've really enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing your planner system with us) Although I'm watching it in June 2019, I still find it really helpful. Found many great hacks and tips. Thanks again!
+ashbish Thank you! I love watching plan with me videos, but sometimes I get overwhelmed by all the pattern and colors. I like to keep planning simple, because I have so many tasks that I need to complete. I feel like it would all get confusing if I added in too much color/pattern. TFW and Happy Holidays!
This is the best stuff ever. I love this video! It helps me to make my sections on my planner☺️ Thank you so much for sharing your methood of planning.
i LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how you have the Malden as your everything. thanks for sharing - i will definitely be watching this again and implementing some of your planning ideas. thanks again!!
Love your video & seeing how you use your planner. I do something very similar for my daily pages but I use a clear fly leaf that snaps in the middle of my week and then I have daily task sheets that I paper clip to the fly leaf - so for the first half of the week my pages are on one side and for the last half they are clipped onto the left side. It's the same idea as you - I also need to see my main things on my weekly pages and then my list of specifics beside the page. You have a very functional planner which is what I like.
+Deanna Moyers (Vintage Touch) That's a great idea! Function is key for me. I like some washi and a touch of color here or there, but it's all for nothing if it's not functional. TFW!!!
I'm a new follower, but all I can say is that your approach to laying out the dailies next to the weeklies is brilliant. You just solved a major problem for me! Thank You!!!!
Hello. After purchasing my new planner. I watched your videos to learn how to use my planner...I have a lot of planner notes to schedule in my planner and I will do them later on tonight when it cools down....happy planner Day...
You offer some fantastic tips! I find it so inspiring to watch someone who is successful in planning with their planner. I love watching videos like this! I am always looking for ways to improve my productivity, and my memory, as I get older. I really need to write everything down these days. Thank you for sharing your practical solutions!
+Sarah Kipling Thanks Sarah! I have always had to write everything down, or else I forget. I try not to use my brain for "storage" as David Allen says. :) Have a great day!
Love how you handle the daily pages. I do the "slit" pages for anything pertaining to that week - all notes, trackers, and a weekly menu. At the beginning of a new week, the whole bundle just moves forward. Love your videos. I get some good ideas from you. Merry Christmas, sweetie!
Wow, lady! You are REALLY ready for 20161 Loved watching and I am so happy you have found a system that works for you. Blessings to you on your studies! C.
+Carolyn Townes Thank you so much Carolyn!!!! I'm still trying to work on my goals for 2016. I'll most likely do a video on that once they are finalized. :)
Pretty cool to see the schedule of my teams within your planner. You are the first I have found to have them listed. This is a great functional set-up and happy for you and your journey through school. Blessings.
What a fab set-up up video! I've whittled everything down into one Filofax this year too apart from my work which I use a Planner Pad for (I'm self-employed so lots to juggle) and have been scribbling down ideas as I've watched. I think eventually I'm going to have to retire my much-loved personal Ranger Filofax for a Malden as the rings on yours look much bigger! Thanks for the inspiration x
+Nicki Cawood Thank you Nicki! I'm not sure what the ring size is for the Ranger but I did have to take out a few things from my Malden because it was getting a little too stuffed. I love having a simplified set-up. Hopefully it will serve me well this year. :) TFW!!!
Fingers crossed. Since posting the first comment I've retired the work PlannerPad for something else but the Ranger is still firmly my favourite. I'm not sure the Malden can compare. Happy planning x
Oh my- You said Micro Journaling and as a Journal Girl who loves to write prompts I am sooooooooo clinging to that! Thanks...Brainstorming Micro Journaling as a possible prompt theme for my Blog...hmmm...LOVE your packed, pleasingly Plump planner! Enjoy your holidays and Happy 2016!
+Dawn Paoletta Same to you Dawn! I heard that term "micro journaling" on another UA-camr's page, but I can't remember who it was. I have such a hard time sitting down a journaling, but I like to write one or two things per day that I want to look back & remember. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
lovely review. I do the same setup in my weekly pages. I always insert a blank page in between, however I keep it mainly for undated tasks and errands. as for right and left weekly pages, I use my daily page upside down , so it faces the relevant week. thanks for sharing and happy new year.
I'm so glad you came back to using just one planner! As always, your videos are the best on the entire planner community. Loves and cheers for the celebrations 🎉💕
+jocelyn palomo Awww, thank you SO much! I am really happy to be in one main planner. I will be using my A5 as my bar prep and career planning binder, but that will stay at home and really just be pre-planning. Then I will transfer the most important and relevant info into my personal Malden. Have a great day and TFW!!!
Great video, thank you! I've just ordered my first Filofax in personal size so your videos are so inspiring to me in my planning for the set up. Happy Holidays!
I like ! 💕
+Michelle Aldrich Absolutely! I love lined or grid pages for some reason. I have difficulty writing straight when there isn't a guide. Have a great day Michelle!
Loving that daily page solution. I don't need it everyday and didn't like the idea of flipping sections - this is great! I print my own inserts, so I might be printing up some daily pages soon. Thanks for sharing :)
+Christine Cortese Thank you Christine! I have been so pleased to finally be in ONE planner! It's been a long time and I'm really enjoying it. TFW and Happy Holidays!
I really enjoy watching your videos and usually cant wait for the next to be online. You always inspire me to rearrange the setup of my filofax and I fell in love with your Malden ochre in the A5 size. Do you still have it and use it?! Would be so happy to see more vids incorporating your A5 ;-) if you are close by cologne or düsseldorf during your trip in Germany, just message me, I'd be glad to meet you and show you some hotspots and highlights of my city ;-)
+Sarah O. That is so sweet Sarah, Thank you! I think we'll be around Rammstein and then taking a trip to Paris, then Venice. My boyfriend has been planning the whole trip, so I'm not really sure of all the details. lol :) I am in the process of setting up my A5 Malden as my "Career" binder. So, it will have info on my job search, networking, deadlines for applications, and bar prep. It will be used a lot starting in January, as it will be my last semester in law school. I am still utilizing mostly inserts and some yearly inserts, but no weekly inserts. I will do an updated setup hopefully at the beginning or middle of January. I hope that helps and TFW!!!
Hi Rachel I love your Setup... Where did you get a yearly calendar for your health section (29:12)? I really need some of those for next year!! Thanks for your post!
I love this setup! I am stealing some of your ideas! I have been struggling to get my work, school, projects and personal all in my A5, but I think taking some inspiration from your setup is really going to help!! One question, what are those month on two pages (non-traditional) called?? I've been searching but can't seem to find them. Thanks!
I love watching your videos, Rachel! They are inspiring and somehow very relaxing--I think it's your voice. I remember that you wanted to read the Bible in a year, which I've done a couple of times, and I wanted to tell you to not stress out over missing a day. WHEN (!) you do, I'd suggest just moving on and coming back to it if ever you have the chance. Otherwise, you can make yourself crazy. Just a tip from someone who has an extra 20 years of training in perfectionism, haha! I'm sure you'll be a very successful lawyer--you are so poised and well organized. I'm wondering if you keep your old planner pages as a sort of memory book. It seems to me that it would be a really good keepsake b/c it's so pretty. :)
+Nicola Philpott Thank you Nicola. :) You are so sweet. I got behind on reading my bible because I was sick over the last week. But I will be going out of town this weekend and plan to get caught up. I do keep my old planner pages, but I find I do not look back on them very often. I would never get rid of them though! Have a great day!
Absolutely love your Filofax! Inspiration for mine! Can't wait to start fresh for the new year! Quick question, what pens do you use as mine always bleed through the paper thank you
+NanCinsanity I use a uniball micro roller gel pen and sharpie pens. I find that any other pen bleeds through the pages. Also, I am using a pencil for a lot of pre-planning, so there's never an issue with bleeding there. TFW and Happy Holidays!!!
+antzandbeauty I just recorded a routines video that kind of goes over my color coding. After it it posted, let me know what questions you have that I did not go over. TFW!!!
+Mary A lol.... when I first moved everything into my personal Malden as my one main planner, I had my wallet contents in there as well. But I would have difficulty getting out my entire planner just for my debit card due to how the card pockets are configured. If you have a planner where you can grab your card out of your planner without taking it out of your purse, that works the best (for me anyways). I did this with my Compact Calipso and it worked great because the pockets were vertical instead of horizontal. Hope that helps and TFW!!!
+Rachel Dunaway I'm right on top of that! I own a few compacts and while the Regency is gorgeous the Calipso is the most practical. I have on occasion used the Malden for everything including my wallet and as you mentioned, it's like I'm pulling out a weapon, not practical in a checkout line lol
Your planner is perfection! I've watched this video twice today already 😂 hahaha.. *sigh* Do you keep your daily pages once you remove them or? I'm not sure I'd be able to get rid of them. I like to look back and reflect. :) P.s. if your planner is any indication of the type of Lawyer you're going to be, then I assure you - you'll be brilliant! (I'll be keeping that in mind if I ever need one :P)
+Katherine Gaddy Makeup lol, that's too funny! Thank you so much for your lovely comments! I do keep my daily pages. I should probably do a video on how I archive my pages...hmmmm. I tend to not throw away my planner pages because they feel like my personal diary and I like to look back to see what was going on in my life when I'm feeling nostalgic. :) I'm uploading 2 more videos in the next few days! TFW!!!
+Rachel Dunaway I would love to see a video on how you archive! 😊 & I completely agree. It's like the adult version of a diary haha Your planner/videos give me so many great ideas - my planner is so much more visually appealing now! Especially since I started lettering etc.. so Thank you!
Great video - as always! I love your daily page idea. I fully agree about always needing to see the week as well. I'm happy with the DIYFish solution but if that didn't work so well I would really want to try this! I don't know how you manage to get so much done though! I love the FF month tabs too. I'm gutted they've stopped selling them in the UK. I tried looking on Goldspot to see if I could buy from there, but $30 just to ship is too much :( Whilst you're telling FF to use decent paper would you mind also telling them not to stop selling their best products to large parts of their market as well? :D Anyway, as always, can't wait for more and congrats on the approaching graduation!
+Helen Cooper Thank you so much Helen!!! I know...we all love nice paper and pens. I think that's why inserts on Easy are so popular, because the Filofax paper is just too thin for most people. I wanted to try the DIYFish inserts but I am too nervous to purchase inserts that I have to print myself. They never seem to turn out right. Happy Holidays and I hope you have a wonderful 2016!
Your planners always look so personal and wonderful but how do you keep up with planning, getting tasks done, having a busy day (school and work) and have time to decorate and write so nicely?! I constantly find myself overwhelmed with trying to wring in my planner to work for me. Planner peace is for me a state of mind but it doesn't come around often haha
+Tenzin Chodon lol, well I don't consistently plan everyday. There are some weeks that I find I have more time for planning and decorating, and other times when I just get down the bare minimum, if anything at all. I think my planner seems to reflect when my life gets crazy. However, when I find the time to plan, I am less anxious. One trick that seems to be working lately is that I have been leaving my planner out at all times. So, if I am at home, it's open on my desk. If I am at the library, its open next to my computer, and so on. I think always having it right next to me has been the biggest help. Then, I can just jot down a note when I need to without feeling like I have to dig my planner out of my bag, bc then I just feel like that's too much work. lol Hope that helps!
+Karen Aguilar I purchased my kraft paper on Amazon but I've been hearing that they no longer have this paper. I think you can find this paper on another site....the company is called Kikkerland Design Inc. and the paper pad is called Writersblok. Hope that helps!
+D Mylasteureka I've looked in to these inserts but I am not comfortable getting inserts that I have to print out. I haven't had much luck with these. I don't mind flipping to my monthly inserts as much as I do with the weekly and daily pages. :)
+Rachel Dunaway Oh, I see. I can understand you, sometimes when I want print inserts I fell under stress since 1) I have to take care, 2) I had to clean up the messy after the cutting and punching process. Perhaps, there are some kind girls that offer printing service to LM costumers, with Chen permission of course. I try the system last year and I really like it, but I am not a huge fan of folding pages in and out anymore, so I decide to use something else this year. I wish you am healthy and happy new 2016 Rachel. Please keep going this UA-cam channel.
Hi Rachel. I can relate to the "day on one page and big picture on the other". Have you come across DIYfish's Filofax inserts? She basically designed the exact set up you're talking about. The weeks are sectioned with the month's alongside the days. Everything fits perfectly because she has foldable inserts. So at any given day you can pull out the weekly or monthly folds and have the big picture laid out. They made a huge turn out for me cuz they work really well with the system I use. The only problem I had was the personal size is too small for me. Check them out. Hope that helps.
+MGE Thank you so much! Yes, I have checked out her inserts but I have an aversion to inserts I have to print myself. lol I know that seems strange but I try to use what I have or I can purchase already printed.
love This video! I have watched it several times!! do you archive your daily pages? I was wondering if the slit pages do well when archived? I plan to journal on my daily pages too and will want to archive them. thanks!!
+Kelley Luck I do archive my daily pages in another planner that I'm not currently using. I've also seen other people purchase individual rings from Michael's and loop them through the holes. Hope that helps and TFW!!!
I am currently using my Original Nude (in Pers) but was wondering how you liked the Malden? I have been scared to scratch it (still in plastic lol) but also leather looks a bit dry :/ I wonder if I got a lesser quality Malden.
+Tenzin Codon I'm not too sure about the different types of leather but I love my Malden. I am careful about scratching it and I keep it in a separate soft-sided pouch in my purse. I'm pretty sure it's my holy grail planner. :) TFW!!!
Seriously... How do you find time in the day to do everything you do. It's so hard for me to find the time/motivation to workout and do all my chores and I'm not even in school. I'm drained by the end of the day!!
+Liz Ramirez Well I'll tell you a secret... I don't do everything I plan to do. lol I try my best to get things done, but I am a procrastinator by nature. I tend to not complete the tasks that have to do with taking care of myself, i.e. working out, eating well, getting enough rest. But I the tasks that other people depend on me for, I get done as soon as possible. There are some days when I get nothing done, and some days when I get a lot done. It all balances out in the end. :) TFW!!!
Pretty smart! Love your ideas and handwriting by the way. Have you ever considered to buy DIYFish inserts? It seems they would be perfect for you, to see the week on a flip out and write on daily pages?
+Tamara Baptista I have definitely looked into her inserts and they look wonderful. I am a little leery to purchase inserts that I have to print. My printer and I don't always see eye to eye on things...if you get my drift. lol Have a Merry Christmas Tamara!!!
+Samantha R I purchased the thin kraft paper from Amazon. The company is called Kikkerland Design Inc. and the paper is called Writersblok. I hope that helps!
Hello. Love this video! I am trying to find the journal cards used for daily, monthly, yearly tasks. I know they are from we are memory keepers but which ones are they?
+Bridgett Edwards Sure! I'll have to plan that video out a little bit, because I plan sporadically. Sometimes I do it every day, sometimes I only do it a few times a week. Since it's the beginning of the year, it may be a good time to do a PWM video. TFW and have a great day!!!
+Ju AC They are called grid notecards. I purchased them from Office Depot. I just looked on Amazon and you can find them under "grid index cards." I hope that helps!!!
They are journaling cards similar to project life but I think the brand is called We R Memory Keepers. I'm not home, so I can't verify for sure. Sorry!
Maybe try adding pockets to your dividers and using the backside of them to hold flags, sticky notes could help shrink the size. I have to be able to flip my pages easily or I get frustrated. Also, when I had a separate food journal, not on my daily pages, I rarely used it. Out of sight is out of mind for me. I really like the way you are using the daily pages and I am thinking of trying that for 2016. Trying to decide which insert I am going to. Use this year. It is definitely a download (DIYFISH, PhIlofaxy, or ?). I just do not like the Filofax paper quality. I color code, do not use many stickers. Highlighters for me. TFS
+Carol Collett I have used SewMuchCrafting inserts and Danielle has great paper quality, but they are printed inserts that are mailed to you. The only downloaded inserts I have used is Philofaxy, but I have only printed those on regular copy paper. Thank you for the great suggestions and have a great day!!!
+D Mylasteureka That's great! I've been really liking this hack. I think it's changed my mind about using daily pages in my ring bound planners. Have a great day!
+The Planner Page You are too sweet! Thank you! I think I am okay for right now... I say this layout is going to work for me, but I'm sure I'll change my layout sooner rather than later. lol I checked out your etsy shop. I hope your printer gets fixed soon! TFW!!!
+Rachel Dunaway oh okay. and thank you! i hope the replacement comes soon! do you think you could do a filming setup? im having trouble filming downwarf
I actually film on an iPad mini that is in a case. The case allows me to tilt the iPad downwards for filming. I also try to prop my planner up with the acrylic planner stand. I hope that helps!
+shoppingfiesta lol.... I have never tried an Erin Condren, but I change my mind too often to have a spiral bound planner. :) I would definitely take it apart & put it in a ring bound planner. TFW!!!
I got so annoyed when you flipped through the pages sooo quickly. Sorry, but if you don't want to show anything you've actually written on the pages, don't do a planner setup video.
Rachel, I know you’re super busy with your professional life probably, but just know that there’s a lot of people who still reference your old planner videos. I love how you have the daily pages facing their side of the week on your day on 2 pages. Great idea!
+Natalie Nicole Thanks Natalie! Happy Holidays and TFW!!!
It,s so nice to see a planner used for planning, and not as a sticker book.
By far the most informative planner tutorial I've watched. No posturing just full of great tips and information! Thank you!
I've really enjoyed your video. Thanks for sharing your planner system with us) Although I'm watching it in June 2019, I still find it really helpful. Found many great hacks and tips. Thanks again!
I love the look of the functional planning, with just the random pops of color from the post-its/page flags!

Yay!!! Your planning videos are my favorites
+andallisgrace lol well thank you! I'm uploading 2 more videos this week! :) TFW!!!
I'd love to see an updated setup of your planner

Very inspiring. Lovely setup!
Hi Rachel I love your Setup...
Where did you get a yearly calendar for your health section (29:12)? I really need some of those for next year!!
Thanks for your post!
+Polyanna W You can find these on philofaxy or on mylifeallinoneplace websites. They have wonderful free inserts for all types of planners! TFW!!!
+Rachel Dunaway Thanks Rachel!! I totally follow your Filofax set-up for next year!! Thanks again!!!
I love this setup! I am stealing some of your ideas! One question, what are those month on two pages (non-traditional) called?? I've been searching but can't seem to find them. Thanks!
+Jenn Del Bosque Steal away! They are from Filofax and they are called the month on 2 tabbed refill. I purchased mine from Amazon. TFW!
Love your set up!! I def. took some notes for my 2016 set up! 😘
+Monique Ravenell Thank you Monique! Happy 2016!
Very nice. Love your writing.
+Tammy Rice Thank you Tammy. :)
hi i love your vídeos. i have my first filofax and your vídeos help me a lot! do more!!! 😁 big hug from Portugal
I absolutely love your videos.
+Ricey05 Thank you so much!
I love love love your setup!!:) It looks so cute>
+Suhyun Sim Thank you!!! TFW!!!
Congatulations on your awesome videos! Can you tell me where you got the 2016 month on two pages inserts? Happy New Year!
+Elena Mall I purchased all of my Filofax inserts from Amazon! TFW!!!
+Rachel Dunaway Thank you!!!I really like your system!Congratulations!Happy New Year!
Finally you posted new video! XD btw, could you make a video about color coding system specifically? Thank you!
+antzandbeauty I just recorded a routines video that kind of goes over my color coding. After it it posted, let me know what questions you have that I did not go over. TFW!!!
Love your videos! I have been contemplating all in one but I think the idea of also making it my wallet again may be pushing the limits lol
*sigh*
Do you keep your daily pages once you remove them or? I'm not sure I'd be able to get rid of them. I like to look back and reflect. :)
P.s. if your planner is any indication of the type of Lawyer you're going to be, then I assure you - you'll be brilliant!
It's like the adult version of a diary haha
Your planner/videos give me so many great ideas - my planner is so much more visually appealing now! Especially since I started lettering etc.. so Thank you!
Great system with the day on one page inserts. I would make it similar, but I don't have a planner yet.
Really useful tips and ideas on set up....thank you!
Yes that does help! I will try that! Thank you for responding :)
Love all your videos!! You are so inspiring i would love to know where you get your kraft paper?
+Karen Aguilar I purchased my kraft paper on Amazon but I've been hearing that they no longer have this paper. I think you can find this paper on another site....the company is called Kikkerland Design Inc. and the paper pad is called Writersblok. Hope that helps!
So happy to see this!!! Thanks!! 🤗🤗
+Lorena De Leon Thanks for watching Lorena!!!
What about using DIY fish life mapping system if you need to see your monthly spread together with daily?
Thank you so much! I hope you have a healthy and happy new year as well!
Hie, I can't wait for your next updated planner videos.. Hope it comes soon ya...
Truly like you planner set up!!☺ Thanks for sharing. What kind of planner you recommend for someone that's never used a planner??
It's not really strange, I can understand that cuz as much as I like the inserts, It does take me a while to print and punch them x}
love This video!
+Rachel Dunaway good idea ! Thank you for sharing ! 😊
XD♡ I was really looking forward to seeing your new video! yay!
+Okju Kim Thank you for watching! Two more are on their way!
+Sandra Cantu Thanks Sandra! Have a wonderful day!
:) TFW!!!
+Rachel Dunaway Oh nice! That must be nice to have found The One planner! I found 3 The Ones lol
i was just watching your video last night 😊
+L Delos Santos lol.... I"ll be uploading 2 more videos this week! TFW!!!
Saw the washi tip :-)
I miss your videos.😥😟
Hi Rachel! Where did you get the thin kraft paper inserts? I love how light they are, I can only find thick cardstock. Thanks!
+Samantha R I purchased the thin kraft paper from Amazon. The company is called Kikkerland Design Inc. and the paper is called Writersblok. I hope that helps!
😍😍
GREAT ideas. Thank you!
+Yve Yve Thank you for watching!!!
Great video! Where did you get the little notebook that you write in your food diary? Thank you
+Karen Grabbe It is a small Moleskine notebook that I purchased from Barnes & Nobles. Hope that helps!
Hello. Love this video! I am trying to find the journal cards used for daily, monthly, yearly tasks. I know they are from we are memory keepers but which ones are they?
Will you do a plan with me video? I'd love to see how you sit down and plan your months, weeks and days. Pretty please! :-)
Hi Rachel! I'm not from the US but I'm trying to find the cards you use for your daily and weekly tasks, how are they called?
+Ju AC They are called grid notecards. I purchased them from Office Depot. I just looked on Amazon and you can find them under "grid index cards." I hope that helps!!!
Rachel Dunaway Thanks! Now I found them, also what are called the cards where you wrote your routines? Are they project life cards?
Hi Rachel! I didn't catch the name of the channel who slits her pages, could you write it here please?
+mysummertouch Her channel name is: Rowena Rana. She has some great set-up videos. TFW!!!
have she deleted her chanel? I can't find her channel on YT :(
+mysummertouch I found her channel! Rowena Ranan :)
Thank you! I found it!
Beautiful!!
+Laragazzadagliocchigrandi 01 Thank you so much!
Hi! Do you use the uni-ball micro 0.5mm (#60151) or fine 0.7mm (#60101) pen? Thanks!
Ps. I also do this tip of cutting the hole for take pages in and out of my compact without have to open the rings. ;-)
+D Mylasteureka That's great! I've been really liking this hack. I think it's changed my mind about using daily pages in my ring bound planners. Have a great day!
Great Video TFS
+Planner Girl 24 Thank you so much!
do you periscope rachel?
+The Planner Page I currently do not periscope. :( Sorry!!!
Check out Philofaxy for a Goal Printable under the blog's file section!
+PacificOcean17 Thanks for the tip!!!
Update? :)
I make inserts and could totally make daily/weekly inserts like this for you with the days of the week if youd like :)
+Rachel Dunaway so the ipad is directly in front of you
Yes, it's in front of me on a box and tilted down.
Hi, i love your vidéo:) I would love to share them on the official Filofax Facebook page. can i have your permission please? Thank you!
love it!!! do you have IG?
You can visit me hahahahah. I live in Germany ♡
+Dilara Malik lol, I think we'll be around the Rammstein area when we are there. My boyfriend's family lives there. Where do you live?
And this is why Filofax is so much better than Erin Condren.
