    Bacon's book has a good explanation, with the math for straight pipes megaphones and double ended chambers. you are on the right path with with using the concept of the pressure wave
    I am surprised you are still allowed to have a chainsaw in the UK but it looks like you live rural
    Keep up the good work from an Stihl 066 owner

      Hi Henry yes there's no rules on chainsaws here, it's just a tool, thanks for the positive comments, I just love experimenting power mods.

    I am basically a newer subscriber recently and I have seen your dyno which was quite impressive so I expect to look for another one of your videos here shortly showing test results with your muffler mod, isn't it quite interesting as you can alter your designs how you want and test them to find just the right fabrication design that suits your desire.
    Very good video

    How to build a short expansion chamber that looks like a standard muffler
    Works very well gives good power and allows the saw to be used as normal.

    Very nice. Subbed based on just what you've said on this 1 video. Most exhaust mods are based on more noise equals more better.

      Thanks for the kind comment, I'm going to do some more testing on the dyno soon amongst other stuff, including another fast saw build and further exhaust mods and tests, hope you enjoy.

    Hi Mark I’ve been playing around with pipes over the last few weeks and I found your ideas to be very interesting. Thank you.

      @@marklutwyche8578 I’ve got quite a few videos up about pipes now and I’ve sent a couple of my pipes to Dyno Joe for testing.

      Sounds great I watch dyno Joe, it will be interesting to learn some more about your pipes, its a bit of a dark art building a good pipe that's not a big expansion chamber.

    Have you considered you may be back-stuffing with gas pressure rather than sonic waves? Very interesting stuff. Thank you for sharing.

      Yes it seems to work well, I'm going to do dyno test soon to see, and I've got a few new ideas to add to my up coming parker 58cc build, haven't done much been building a new garden shed.

    How much did it effect your jetting!

    • @marklutwyche8578
      @marklutwyche8578  2 місяці тому

      Quite a bit. Jetting had to be ajusted to get the best, it had more power, nice and crisp, I'm doing another one soon as I'm in the middle of a simular build but I've got a new design in mind then I'm going to dyno test it with a free flow muffler and then this new one .

      @@marklutwyche8578 Will the new Huskys with fuel injection take care of that?

    • @marklutwyche8578
      @marklutwyche8578  2 місяці тому

      @lyf45mo I really don't know, but the fuel system is designed to work on a standard chainsaw, so really I have no idea weather it will be able to re ajust fuelling correctly, I have a sthil ms 362 c which had fuel injection m, tronic, which I do not like as it complicates the engine especially if you want to do power mods, so I've modified mine back to normal carburettor as it's better for modifications.

      Very kind, but for me the joy of getting more power from a chainsaw is all about thinking of ideas and making or modifying myself, it's my hobby.
