Much respect for a man that takes the time to put the stock back, including the stickers, after he has sorted through a stack of lumber to get what he needs. And, another vote for a panel, either expanded metal, or CNC cut to protect the the trucks back window.
Don't the really messed up pieces just get tossed? Nice lumber like that is a different animal than the usual dimensional big box store stuff, of course. And leaving a complete mess is never okay regardless...
I have a fond memory of a stake truck. Dozens of years ago, my favorite uncle insisted on driving the worldly goods of me and my newly-married wife to our first home, at the university we were attending. We fit a queen bed and a small piano amongst our childhood dressers and whatnot as we left to start our new life. He passed away a few years later, at far too young an age. Thanks again, Uncle Jack!
After watching the video advert i was still skeptical. But when i finally downloaded the plans ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxZF0EMnrujZvqHhGkxiz559uIABJWR9TG i was very impressed. The whole plan was just as you said in the video. Thank you very much. I now have a large and valuable collection for my woodworks. This is great!
The build is great as always, but I gotta say your continued evolution and improvement as a filmmaker is what I'm most impressed by. I love how it's still your style of video while also using new techniques to get these amazing shots and keep that kinetic energy high. Great F'n video man!
Could use the back gate portion as a ramp as well. A half dozen flush tie down anchors and that thing is ready for even more work. Always enjoy the simplicity and ingenuity of the builds. Top notch.
Badass truck and bedsides. And as I worked in the lumber at a big box store for 3 yrs. rhymes with chrome heap’O I thank you for re stacking what you went through Jimmy!!!!
Such a great improvement over tarping and/or tie downs: Load & go & unload without overheads or fears of tarp etc becoming a sail & taking bits of load with it. Thanks for sharing!
Well done ! My brother . Simple but very versatile . It will come in very handy around the farm . I can see bales of hay being carried to the stable on board it . Stay well Taylor , Willie and you my brother
Got my poster and knife yesterday. It’s awesome, it really does come super sharp. I made a sheath for it, don’t know how I’ll do the handle yet, so wrapped it for now in Para cord
respect! That is old school awesome! I remember growing up in the 70's and 80's where guys used to do that to their trucks, it put a smile on my face the entire time I was watching this video. Reminding me of days long gone, thanks you for posting and the awesome work you do.
Nice stake sides! Plus one vote for a window screen, too- troll your metal supply yard for an expanded metal offcut. Your glass coverage will thank you. 😂 I put toolboxes from Craigslist on the sides of my flatbed, and built an expanded metal tailgate that splits in the middle and folds in flat against the sides if I want to hang something over the back. Your tailgate looks more solid, but on the heavy side. 😁
You can make a small attachment at the end of the truck where you can slide in that tail gate once you remove it. That way you can have a ramp for steping on the truck bed.
I like the drop down sides. Each side is like a tailgate. VW had them on their 60's truck. Japan & Australia still use them on their trucks (Ute in Australia). America is broken!
Great mod! It's always good when we can make what have more versatile. Got to say though, I'm scared for your back window. It would be my luck that I'd be throwing something up in there and it would go right through the back window.🤣🤣
Hey Jimmy you have to try steel-it in a spray can if you haven't already, we use it on all of our steel frame machines it's great we get it from mcmaster

I worked various retail jobs in my younger days, and inconsiderate shoppers was my main pet peeve. I always kept my mouth shut though, of course.

You always make developing a complicated widget look effortless. The gate mechanism is fantastic.

The sliding mechanism for the back cover was freaking nice! I love watching you work! Makes me want to go make stuff.... when I have space...
I loved the quick cut at 8:16 were you turn on the welder. It's like pop-lock editing, so good!
Having seen this a prior video, I had to literally LOL when it came on. Love your editing Jimmy!
Your editing gets better and better.
This was a fun build.
Also loved watching the clouds in time lapse!
Thank you!

Need a couple of benches back there to haul the crew around the farm.

Loved the old man grunt putting the gate back up.
Great truck mod! My son (7) loves Making fun. The taco throwing Dino was his favorite
😊😊😊😊
I wake up, there is a new Diresta video... some days definitely are better than others.
please, have my thumb up, my good sir.

If I were only half as good as Jimmy Diresta, I would be a genius.
Outstanding!
Regards Gareth Wiltshire UK. Gratitude. Quality. Respect. Thank you.
This is awesome Jimmy!!! Love it! Happy Birthday bud!!! -Brian
🙏🏼❤️
Just got the skeleton knife and poster. Love it. Can’t wait to find time to mess with it, and to frame and hang the poster. Love you so much, man.
✊🏻👊🏼👊🏼🙏🏼
It needs some stainless hard wear. Acorn nuts would be nice too! Nice execution of the build like usual Jimmy!
I love the way that truck sounds!
He never disappoints. Thinks outside the box. Well done.
The welder startup sequence is BACK!!! Awesome. :D
Hahahah
Did you think about sealing with a cap the top part of the vertical elements? It could prevent a lot of rust inside from the rain.
I thought the same.
@jimmydiresta maybe some cool Total Boat Epoxy caps with DIRESTA embossed in them
And bees 🐝
@@ericpedersen2760 Thats a great idea.
@@Pkripper-67 ah yes, nothing like a structural element filled with a surprise colony of bees.
Tops for the stakes and some wood protection to prevent moisure would be fine also! Newertheless i enjoyed watching this!
Nicely done Jimmy, nicely done.
Love it, utilitarian and creative. Love how truck beds have modified for any need since their advent.
That looks awesome. Never seen railing for a truck bed like that.
Got my poster and knife yesterday. It’s awesome, it really does come super sharp. I made a sheath for it, don’t know how I’ll do the handle yet, so wrapped it for now in Para cord

Awww yes! A clasic Diresta project! Good times
My man Jimmy D. at it again. Thanks for all you do. Much love from Michigan.
Truck looks great and the design of the stake bed and tailgate is top notch
Looks good, perfectly matches that truck like it was always there.

Brilliant, Jimmy! Fantastic work! 😃
Stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Привет из Беларуси! Отличная работа, аж глаз радуется!
the closure with the milled tube is very cool🤗👍👍
Your painting skills are improved! 🤣
Nothing cooler than a flatbed work truck with wood sides!
Jimmy for the sake of your back make that back gate one side a hinge. Love your projects.
Still finds a way to put the diresta left turn in there. Nice job on the tail gate. Very cool.
Cool project! I enjoyed the different editing you put into this episode. Thanks for sharing.

I could watch this stuff all day long … oh wait. I already do! Thanks, Jimmy!
Great video Jimmy! Love the flat bed truck and now with the side racks and gate, its awesome! Great build!
SOLID Stout build! 🔥
Awesome job Jimmy. That truck bed is a real winner too, super useful!!
A stake truck is very versatile. If I had a truck that would be it. Nice build.
Oh great! Now I have to make bedrails for the Hot Wheels I made you? Hahaha 😆
Looks great Jimmy. Form & function.
A great upgrade! I have a story about a 100 pound garbage disposal rolling off my truck....
Nice stake sides! Plus one vote for a window screen, too- troll your metal supply yard for an expanded metal offcut. Your glass coverage will thank you. 😂

As per usual...Slick Job Jimmy!
You continue to inspire me good sir. Thank you.
...and then it just paid for itself! Great work.
Great build! Also super cool you can just levitate higher when you need to reach a spot. (6:53)
Love the styling of this truck Jimmy!
OUTSTANDING side kit for your stake body, thanks for the video🤗😎🤗😎
Such a good looking farm truck Jimmy. Coming together nice 👍
good job man! you should put thick and heavy metal mesh to protect the rear window
Nice build. Now you need something to protect your back window.
and biceps warm up session everytime he wants to remove the tailgate 😁
You can make a small attachment at the end of the truck where you can slide in that tail gate once you remove it. That way you can have a ramp for steping on the truck bed.
i love watching your videos jimmy
Good stuff Jimmy, had to pick up the knife deal as well, will frame and put along side my Will Stelter print you made! Also enjoying the Netflix show.
good job mister Jimmy Diresta
That’s so badass dude. But what I’m more impressed with is the film work and editing skills, looks like I filmed it. Lol.
Thank you Jimmy, a set of solid sides ... 👏👏👏 they should age nicely ..
Nice upgrade Jimmy! Personally, I'm don't understand the wood-slat beds, but somehow you make it work, and work well!
Молодец, приятно на дяденьку смотреть.

That truck is going to see some work I bet - looks great!
Adds a nice look to the truck, I did something similar with my '90 sportside.
Thanks Jimmy, old school stake bed, love it! 👍👍👍
much respect for all that jimmy does- but that tailgate is pants - looks great though - but one bump and it's history
You got a mill in the big shop now! 🤘nice.
Simple is usually best! Jimmy does it again 👍
Great film and build. Cool design on gate. Mahalo for sharing! 🙂🐒
My friend designed a great car too good health and success
Looks good, Jimmy!
Creative
Very cool, Jimmy!
As always, very impressive work and attention to detail.
You did a great job 👏
It was a great work I enjoyed watching.🇹🇷
@15:35 great shades Jimmy !
They tailgate mechanism is genius!
Baby voice: "You didn't use primer on the bare metallllllll! Now its gonna ruuuuuusssst!! WaaaaaaaHHHHHh!!!!"
Love the finished look of the truck.
Glad to see you're already using the C-clamps again Haha
Hahaha
I like the drop down sides. Each side is like a tailgate. VW had them on their 60's truck. Japan & Australia still use them on their trucks (Ute in Australia).

My thoughts exactly that one chunk of wood 🪵 looked like it got mighty close, I actually flinched 🤪
@@allenwilson9656 There are at least 3 in this boat, now.

$34/can on Amazon. Wow
great job. Presumably you can lift the side panels off too as they seem to be just resting in those slots?
Yep comes out too
thanks buddy, i need to make up a set for my trailer
looks exactly like how my grandpa made everything ! silver paint, boxed tube and carriage bolts !
Te quedo muy bien saludos 😃 Jimmy
Good looking work truck.
Te veo en netflix! Muy bien 👍 👏
nice idea for the rear wall
would you consider adding some grill / mesh to protect the window?
*Крутий проект, гарні борти.*
