Couple of things .. if i used 2" pull pins ( i used 1.5" ) i would not have needed to cut into the top of the leg... next time i fix that use 2" wed in pins.. AND i am welding on the Weldtables.com plasma cutting table with steel mesh top because my big WeldTables.com table was set up for production of Taylorforrest.com chairs last week ! thank you for watching and commenting!
Great job, but as i said in the comment section of another your video, I still don't understand why you use a Cup so big, Also considering that you don't clean the metal before welding, so you'll always have oxidation regardless of how many cfh of argon, or Cup diameter you use. Sorry for my english, it's not my native language: i Just would like to know why you use a Cup so big
As an amateur with woodworker, i typically feel overpowered with the entire arrangement ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxrYREG3-7f1Aqk9ams3ZESRNzGnfdUtyQ . Be that as it may, this arrangements drove me through with much clarity and effortlessness woodplans. Works i now work like a genius. That is great!
I stayed 3 years without jobs. I started watching your videos, and that motivated me to go back to school and become a woodworker. Today, I have a job that fills me, a passion. Thank you for all these techniques and all these good ideas.
Thanks Mr. Advocatus Diaboli, my old man is always up for building and making things. He has taught me a LOT over the years and I'm very grateful. Currently we are finally finishing up building a v8 engine. I made sure to take lots of video and toss it on my channel because I feel like my father is a wonderful teacher and I hope others can learn from him, just like my dad and I learn tips and tricks from Jimmy. I encourage you and others to take a look at my channel. Thanks for the kind comment!
I absolutely love this idea. I have such a limited amount of space that I literally have to pack everything away every time I use it. I spend more time unpacking and re-packing everything each time I use it than actually working. Excellent job Jimmy.
Love it! You should put some strips of plywood in between each rotating table and the ends so that you have one continuous flat tabletop where things would catch less or fall down into less. Gotta make me one of these for the small garage with too many tools and not enough workbench
Having watched about ten of your videos since finding your channel yesterday, I can confidently predict that you are that rare breed of man who can make absolutely bloody anything.... and do it very well. Massive skill. Big respect.
I started my own little project this WE and I realized how much I have learned about planning and execution just by looking at your videos. So a big thank you from Switzerland, I really enjoy your channel.
I gave welding a try because of what you said on your podcast once. You mentioned that when you first started out you weren't sure what the settings needed to be so you would try the lowest setting and see if that worked if it didn't you would try the highest setting and see how that worked. Through that trial and error you figured out about were you needed to be. That stuck with me and eventually I bought a cheap welder and did the same thing. Since then I have used it to make a few things that I get a ton of use out of. My welds aren't pretty by any standards but they hold. Thanks for the inspiration.
Awesome free hands following of templates, such steady & true eye & muscle synthesis & then comes a table of weight & precision as if made & used by the navy. Thank you for sharing such phenomenal combination of art, science & ergonomics.
I probably won't ever build one of these but I ALWAYS learn something by watching you... the wooden jig to keep everything square was great and then I noticed the plywood tabs to keep the steel in place.. genius, I loved it. Awesome video once again Jimmy, thanks for all the lessons!
Love it. Only thing I would like to add is a second layer top that slides to the side. That way all my work on the bench top can slide over while I bring up the power tool. Then slide it back when Tool is done.
That was awesome! Thank you for addressing the reasoning behind not using the band saw or chop saw over the angle grinder, I figured it was a mobility issue. Thanks for sharing!
Nice shop table but I honestly like the old videos much better than these fast forward "silent movies". There seemed to be a lot more fun back in the old basement, some banter and some explanation, which I really liked.
The precision in Jimmy's work is amazing. The way those latches fit into the slots first time was precision. Jimmy's living the dream. Every maker dreams to have a makerspace like his. And the tools. And what Jimmy doesn't have, Jimmy makes.
My dad built one with 4 flips about 35 years ago. It was a little different and the three saws and planer sat lower in the frames so all the surfaces would be level with the table top. It was in a shop that he was leasing floor space from a shady guy that used to sell used cars. The day after my dad passed away, we cleared out his shop. The owner of the building said that it was his and that my dad had given it to him. We didn't argue because if he knew that my dad had passed away, he would have kept everything! Besides, it was too long to haul in the back of a long bed pickup. We did manage to get most of this tools and welders and a 4'x12' steel bench that he used for sheet metal layout. Yes, it hung way out the back of the pickup. The shop owner stopped by a few days later and wanted to buy some of dad's tools. We told him ... ah nope!
This couldn’t have come at a better time. One might say ‘pivotal’, I’m fabbing up a new work bench for my garage tomorrow, this helps tremendously. I’ll now be building it Diresta-style for my bench grinder & flipping to my big disc sander.
Fantastic! Love seeing bits of the build in your Instagram story then watching the whole video when it comes out on UA-cam. Thanks for the inspiration dude!
Just for esthetic, I would have covered the top of the frame with plywood too, just so it gives you a full smooth surface and looks cleaner. Beyond that, super cool. Awesome job jimmy.
I absolutely LOVE this work bench. For my purposes I would only make it two sections (my basement shop is rather small). I would make one side wood and the flip side steel and it will be the perfect work bench for me.
grandissimo ottima idea , devo farti le mie congratulazioni non solo per questo ma per tutti i tuoi progetti che li trovo validi e fonti di ispirazione …. bravo continua cosi'
This is like the only flip top design I’ve seen that looks sturdy enough to hold that DeWalt planer. Your mechanical mindset always has a unique solution!
Hey Jim, As I get close to my retirement, I have been thinking of things that I can still do with my welders! Watching your videos always gave me ideas! Thanks for the inspiration I need! Best Regards your friend BobLee 🤗🤗
Wow, I heard you talk about this on the podcast, but the execution of it is fantastic! I love the knobs with springs to hold them in place. Great design!
Jimmy D!!! You are so beyond talented my friend!! My family and I have loved your videos since the beginning and I am always looking forward to the next one!! How incredible to see how you engineer all of these great projects and we love to watch as the process goes through from start to finish!! It is amazing and we are 100% your biggest fans!! Keep up the awesome work!!!
A fantastic take on the workshop staple of the flip cart. I far prefer this concept, whereby you have a usable bench, not a dedicated cart that needs its own space. Inspired. Thanks for sharing!
Wow jimmy! Brilliant! Ive just got my new shop dried in so when I start making tables/benches I am going to attempt to Integrate your genius idea into my work benches thanks for the great video
What diresta does better than everybody else on UA-cam, it doesn't matter how much new equipment he has when he built stuff for clients or whatever he goes back to the basics and he build stuff to get it done not as a showpiece in for his craftsmanship or his tools not saying that his craftsmanship isn't awesome. I'm just saying that he is pretty much the only one left on UA-cam and Facebook that build stuff for his real builds that new people can identify with.
Couple of things .. if i used 2" pull pins ( i used 1.5" ) i would not have needed to cut into the top of the leg... next time i fix that use 2" wed in pins.. cool table but one question how do you manage the cables with the flippy aktion
Not in use the cables are wrapped up.
Excelente trabajo! Bravo!!!
Great job, but as i said in the comment section of another your video, I still don't understand why you use a Cup so big, Also considering that you don't clean the metal before welding, so you'll always have oxidation regardless of how many cfh of argon, or Cup diameter you use.

jimmydiresta was that paint or the acid blackener

Tell us obi wan
nice build as always. also great for a roulette/cards/craps table for when the fuzz come knocking.
Hahah I made a flip gambling table for my first ever episode of TV!! 02
@@jimmydiresta Is it on UA-cam?
lol, are you a cop? You have to tell him if your a cop. ;)
I like the way you think. Humorous even on someone elses channel.
I stayed 3 years without jobs. I started watching your videos, and that motivated me to go back to school and become a woodworker. Today, I have a job that fills me, a passion. Thank you for all these techniques and all these good ideas.
You should make some videos and post them.
good on you brother
My old man is 72 years old. I have showed him your channel, now he doesn't leave his shop, always making stuff. Great build!
BarnStangz this is so wholesome! Love it.
Thanks Mr. Advocatus Diaboli, my old man is always up for building and making things. He has taught me a LOT over the years and I'm very grateful. Even after all these years, every time I watch your video's I learn something new. Thanks man.
I absolutely love this idea. I have such a limited amount of space that I literally have to pack everything away every time I use it. I spend more time unpacking and re-packing everything each time I use it than actually working. Excellent job Jimmy.
The most modular worktable in existence! Wonderful.
I've seen a lot of people build flip top work benches Jimmy, you've knocked this out of the park! It's the best design I've seen! Thanks for sharing!
Jimmy is the GOAT . Not new idea but great simple execution and process . I'm always learning something . Nice jigs for welding . Thank you Jimmy !
It's the first time in my life when I see a table that makes a flip like this. Big like this video.
A Diresta movie and build how we love to see it. Keep on making them like this. There amazing.
Another stellar build !! Best interpretation of the 'flip top' work bench I have yet to see on the net and by far the most sturdy and rugged.
I wish his classes weren’t so expensive, I live 20 minutes away and would love to learn from a legend
The use of pinball plungers is absolutely brilliant!
Top ten Diresta build for sure. Space is always a factor for people...this is great!
Love it! You should put some strips of plywood in between each rotating table and the ends so that you have one continuous flat tabletop where things would catch less or fall down into less. Gotta make me one of these for the small garage with too many tools and not enough workbench
The most sturdy build of any flip tool stand. I want one just don't have the room for it. Very nice.
Поражает решительность и мастерство этого дядьки. Как лихо он режет материал, ручным инструментом, смело действует "на глаз".
The perfect design to hide that bench top tool and get it out of the way when you need that horizonal space. Great build Jimmy.
Having watched about ten of your videos since finding your channel yesterday, I can confidently predict that you are that rare breed of man who can make absolutely bloody anything.... and do it very well. Massive skill. Big respect.
Amazing work brother! Still have that small shop mentality I see, using every possible square inch. Love this
made my first ones very recently and I am kicking myself for not doing them years ago ! Little shops as well as big shops would benefit.
I started my own little project this WE and I realized how much I have learned about planning and execution just by looking at your videos. So a big thank you from Switzerland, I really enjoy your channel.

Tim Lovell I’m digging the swirling gif. How’d you get that set up?
Great build and video. Thanks so much for taking the time and energy to film while you work.
Awesome free hands following of templates, such steady & true eye & muscle synthesis & then comes a table of weight & precision as if made & used by the navy. Thank you for sharing such phenomenal combination of art, science & ergonomics.
Buena idea Diresta, optimizar espacio es fundamental y de esa manera ahorras máquinas estacionadas en diferentes mesas, very good!!!
You can tell how satisfied you are with the action of the mechanism as you couldn’t stop playing with it 😄
These are super cool. I love how when just the planer is up it gives you the in and out feed. Great design.
I probably won't ever build one of these but I ALWAYS learn something by watching you... the wooden jig to keep everything square was great and then I noticed the plywood tabs to keep the steel in place.. genius, I loved it. Awesome video once again Jimmy, thanks for all the lessons!
This is one of the most badasstical pieces of equipment I've ever seen anyone make for themselves.
Love it. Only thing I would like to add is a second layer top that slides to the side. That way all my work on the bench top can slide over while I bring up the power tool. Then slide it back when Tool is done.

This is the TRANSFORMERS Workbench ! Great job Jimmy!,👍
Hey Jimmy that's just as great as it is stable 👏💪
I'm absolutely in love with this table and fascinated about the idea behind 😍
... finally a nice Diresta video again. A good idea implemented simply and uncomplicated. 👍🏽😊
Nice shop table but I honestly like the old videos much better than these fast forward "silent movies". There seemed to be a lot more fun back in the old basement, some banter and some explanation, which I really liked.

DUUDE. That table is SOOO sick. I got to about the 7 minute mark and was like "waaait a second.. no way.. NO WAY!!"
You always make a new generations of hand work idea
Fantastic! Love seeing bits of the build in your Instagram story then watching the whole video when it comes out on UA-cam. Thanks for the inspiration dude!
Oh that's so awesome....
I saw a lot of people doing similar tables but this one is by far the best. Great idea and a good video too.
Thanks
All through the video I was wondering where this was going......very clever! Thanks for the video.
Great built. This is a good option for someone with limited space 👏🏾👍🏾💪🏾
Now if that isn't the best use of space I ever done seen.
Jason's squares are awesome. Handy to have around
Just for esthetic, I would have covered the top of the frame with plywood too, just so it gives you a full smooth surface and looks cleaner. Beyond that, super cool. Awesome job jimmy.
I listened to the podcast last night and Jimmy described this table, it looks exactly as described. So slick! Those catch pins and plates are genius.
That just might be the coolest thing you've made!
I absolutely LOVE this work bench. For my purposes I would only make it two sections (my basement shop is rather small). I would make one side wood and the flip side steel and it will be the perfect work bench for me.
I love this concept! They are out of the way when not needed but readily available when they are. Why didn't I think of that???
Absolutely genius. I have so many things I want to do and now this is all I want.
Ingenious! A genius idea. And a reliable making. I'm impressed. :) Thanks for the video, a pleasure to watch.
grandissimo ottima idea , devo farti le mie congratulazioni non solo per questo ma per tutti i tuoi progetti che li trovo validi e fonti di ispirazione …. bravo continua cosi'
well there you go, a work station you can use in both hemisphere's. nice work Mr. D

By far one of my favourites from now! Super nice!
Love the triple flip idea Jimmy. Nice work as usual!
Wow, I heard you talk about this on the podcast, but the execution of it is fantastic! I love the knobs with springs to hold them in place. Great design!
Good lord, this is amazing. A bolt together flat pack version would be a good seller I bet. 👍
Awesome job as always jimmy. Really love how the fliptop work table came together. Best locking mechanism I’ve seen. Looks very professional.
What a great idea you have to build your own shop table 👍

That is ridiculously cool. Thanks you are certainly a master builder.
This is the most ingenious bench Ive ever seen. Well done.
Just finished listening to the episode of the podcast where you three were talking about this table was neat to come home and watch the build itself.
Just learning to TIG, great job Jimmy, made me feel better to see you also grinding after even though they were nice. Mine have a long way to go.

This thing is sick! Love the pull pin latches. Nice work bud!
Love the 3-in-1 or 6-in-1 potential for that table.
Man this is incredibile, You are a master ! Insane skill.Bravo!
