Prob the deepest and chillest song by them , love Gojira! They are actually a super heavy band, Few suggestions : Stranded Heaviest Matter of The Universe Flying Whales Exlposia The Axe
Gojira is a really extreme metal but they don't hold themselves to standard convictions, they're amazing at producing sounds of all sorts and are some of the best live performers in recent years. Gojira is pronounced Go-Jeer-Ah. It's how Japanese pronounce Godzilla.
This song was written when Joe Duplantier's first son was born. Joe is Gojira's singer and his son was born, obviously, in Winter. In general terms, it's a song about the creation of human life. : )
Module79L It’s actually about growing up strong in a world where people are cold and only care about themselves (Born in Winter). Mario told a friend of mine. But it was indeed written for his first child (I was sure it was a daughter but I might be wrong).
Gojira is their own sound. But they sound more like prog-deathmetal. Deathmetal because their riffs are simple but heavy as hell. And the lead singer's screams have pitch when he sings
*Flying Whales next boys!!* personally i prefer the studio version with the intro but live version is fuckin killer with their explosive energy, either is serial fucking killer.
My favorite Gojira song, nice! This song is a bit unusual for them, check out Shooting Star, Stranded, Flying Whales. It's really the sign of an amazing song when it freezes you in place and makes the song your entire world for those few minutes. On a side note, check out The Hu, Mongolian metal.
You definitely need to check out either The Gift of Guilt @Brixton Academy or Toxic Garbage Island @ Bloodstock both are amazing songs and the performances are kick ass. (The band pronounces their name Go-Sheer-ah😉)
Go-jeer-uh. Love this band and this song. It's definitely one of their most chill, but that video is so perfect for the track. I've watched it a bajillion times. Also, "I wasn't ready" is a perfectly acceptable reaction to Gojira.
Actually gojira is what the jspanese call godzilla... and hes a metaphor for the nuclear fallout from when the u.s. droppedthe two atom bombs.... the band is very earth conscious therefore ... gojira
@@forizzle1649 I know thats why Gojira reminds me of Ghidora the three headed monster (or King Ghidora) from the movies as I'm a big Godzilla fan. Its just funny to me that there are 2 different bands/artists who use characters from the Godzilla movies.

Stranded
Heaviest Matter of The Universe

I'd also throw in L'Enfant Sauvage and Silvera.

And The art of dying and Toxic garbage island
Toxic Garbage Island, Silvera, L’Enfant Sauvage, and Yama’s Messengers
Gift of guilt as well

I like how he guessed "is that a molecule being formed, or something?" Little did he know, he was dead on.

Woah Gojira, my favorite!!
Heaviest Matter of the Universe
Silvera
Backbone
Toxic Garbage Island
Stranded
The Gift or Guilt
Any of these are a lot better choices tbh, trust me
I like born in winter too.
This wasn’t a bad choice at all. Those are other great songs, but they don’t make this one any worse.

Hey, you haven't heard the heaviest song of metal, you should hear it:
The Heaviest Matter Of The Universe - Gojira
Flying Whales is heavier
@@sonofbelz totally respect that 🤘🏾

Joe is definitely unique in that his screams/growls are in pitch, LOVE that about him!
