She took the extra mile to figure out what went wrong, so that her subscribes could have the benefit of not having theirs fail. This is why Joana is one of my favourite UA-camrs. I can't believe this had to turn into a science experiment to get right! The manufacturer was better off just saying to use distilled water from the get go. So glad you were able to get it right and show us!
if it was a science experiment it wouldn't have directions. they would just give you ingredients and be like "explore, do science. don't know what will happen but hey. good luck" honestly seems like a toy I would buy.
To all the people thinking hard water is ice: Hard water is water with a crap ton of minerals in it, I think. Mineral water has even more minerals than hard water. Hard water can be ice, if used in the proper phrasing.
After watching this video I ordered the green set ( it has dinosaurs!) and I followed your instructions. I was disappointed at first, because after mixing the distilled water and the powder, the solution was super cloudy (I couldn't see my hand, like in your earlier attempts). However, it all worked out, and e everything had cleared up by the 15 minutes of waiting. Thanks for the hard work!
I’m waiting right now, I put In the powder and it was very cloudy, but now it’s been about 3 minutes and it’s cleared up a bit, I hope it turns out crystal clear
This is kind of ridiculous. If the toy is so sensitive to the type of water you use, they should sell the water with it in the box, so then it would be fool proof. No kid or parent will figure that out by themselves without buying a bunch of them and trying it out like you did. This is misleading and disrespectful to the consumers. Thanks for sharing this tutorial and figuring it out for us! I would probably have ruined my toy if I tried it by myself lol
fadeddreamss this is a completely reasonable request but packaging/ mailing liquids of any kind is very expensive and complex. At the very least they owe the buyer very clear and detailed instructions
The hard water / mineral water/ bottled water distinction is fairly common knowledge in US communities with hard water. Hard water can mess up certain recipes, and makes things difficult to clean. A lot of bottled water in the US is tap water from places that don't have hard water, so bottled water generally works for these applications here. But, for something like that, I'd buy distilled water right off the bat, though I may not be the average consumer in this regard (I have dealt with a lot of water issues due to having an aquarium).
I personally feel like it's more common depending where you are in the US. I've dealt with hard water and crappy City water my whole life so I know to use distilled or filtered water for things like this. Others who live in areas with better water, probably wouldn't think about it.
Im from the us and my first thought was to use distilled water, but thats because i have an interest in chemistry and know that chemicals or minerals in non distilled water can ruin experiments
All because the genius behind the instructions didn't write Distilled water. It's great she figured it out but tbh they don't deserve any sales for such a major cock up. Feel bad for the parents who wasted their money and the kids who had a fail, yet it wasn't their fault.
I'm pretty sure they expect parents to "construct" the jelly part and use the correct water. Although I can imagine how many annoyed adults there might be when the jelly doesn't come together and you have several disappointed kids waiting 😂😂😂
just to make it clear, by hard water it DOES NOT mean ice. It’s a type of water, for example, illinois has hard water, but some other states have a different type of water where it feels a bit oilier called “soft water”.

Instructions: “If your water is hard, it will not work.” Me: WHAT IS HARD WATER...? DoSE iT mean ICE ALSO WHAT IS BABY WATER? IS IT MAID OUT OF BABIES?
For me it was perfectly clear that you need to use bottled water that’s not mineral water? But maybe that’s just me. I don’t consider mineral water to be the most common bottled water. Idk
Actually in Germany the most common bottled water is in fact mineral water. and as you might have seen she even used demineralized baby water and it didn't work. so maybe the instructions should say distilled water in the first place? just to be sure there is nothing going wrong. but that's the companies decision so its up to them if they want to lose customers for such a stupid mistake.
Nina Ro well I’m not from Germany. I didn’t know if the original video poster was. I’m a person who has hard water and hard water = minerals. My comment was from personal experience and not meant to be rude at all!
To make the end result more interesting, you could make two lots - one could be coloured a sand colour. On that one, use the mineral water to make it look more solid and opaque, like sand. Add shells etc after it is set. When that is ready, make up a clear one for the sea and layer it on top. I had this video come up in 'what to watch'. I recently bought very similar product but ready made in a sachet. It is sold as a modelling clay and will eventually set (I think!). It's odd to play with, not at all sticky.
lol!! love that concept! This was originally supposed to be a very basic "toy unboxing and demo" video but it was surprisingly fun to dig deeper when the kit refused to work
"i dont know how this company expects consumers to understand hard water" "so i got some Baby Water - " amazing how cultural differences can impact even things like kids crafts! i just found your channel and i love your videos :) i do know about hard/soft water but idk if thats a typical american experience or not, but theres no such thing as "baby water" here so that threw me for a loop! i thought it a great contrast to illustrate the point on how "common sense" varies so much between different places and people. oh! also usually bottled water thats mineral water in the US is labeled and sold as specifically "mineral water", whereas most bottle waters unlabelled are soft.
There is baby water here in the states. There’s usually a baby on the label and It’s marketed for use in making formula. It’s also sometimes called nursery water.

You can do one Maqaroon themed, with clay macaroons and koalas, or alpaca themed, in remembrance of that episode of Joanna Cooks Kawaii!
Estefy C- I think she should totally bring it back!! Even if it’s like one every two weeks! 🐶❤️

If you leave it over night it clears up anyway
ThAt water!!!!!!

Deviant Flamigo fool proof means it won't fail.
It's odd to play with, not at all sticky.
you should make one with Koya! He would be too unbothered and sleepy anyway 😂
Wow. This is just 18 minutes of pure SCIENCE
joanna, DIY detective, on the case
lol!! love that concept! This was originally supposed to be a very basic "toy unboxing and demo" video but it was surprisingly fun to dig deeper when the kit refused to work

"i dont know how this company expects consumers to understand hard water"
"so i got some Baby Water - "
amazing how cultural differences can impact even things like kids crafts! i just found your channel and i love your videos :) i do know about hard/soft water but idk if thats a typical american experience or not, but theres no such thing as "baby water" here so that threw me for a loop! i thought it a great contrast to illustrate the point on how "common sense" varies so much between different places and people.
oh! also usually bottled water thats mineral water in the US is labeled and sold as specifically "mineral water", whereas most bottle waters unlabelled are soft.
There is baby water here in the states. There’s usually a baby on the label and It’s marketed for use in making formula. It’s also sometimes called nursery water.
@@stephgreen3070 oh, i didnt know that! thats a good point, about the formula. thanks for telling me :)
if you make clay characters, you could make a Sanrio Theme. I just love Sanrio Characters, my favorites are Gudetama and Pompompurin :)
Galia Boldoser OMFG S A M E! I've never "met" anyone who's favorite characters were also gudetama and pompompurin!
In the US, mineral water is labeled as such. Then again, when something tells me not to use ‘Tap’ or ‘Hard water’, I immediately go for distilled.
1.A kawaii food theme please (any food category of your choosing)
2.a ML (miraculous ladybug) theme if you know what that is
