    I have the same number switch issue as an Arabic speaker. In Arabic we read numbers in the same order as in Dutch.

    Ok, so Dutch has no limit on the number of letters in a word. Check.

    We have that switch around for the first and second digit in german too and I hate it so much. Trips me up all the time.
    For the thousand thing, we only say the 19 hundred instead of 1 thousand 9 hundred if we talk about years.

    • @TomCatchesUp
      @TomCatchesUp  7 років тому

      Ah that's interesting. For years, in Dutch, anything before the 2000s is often said as if it's two separate numbers - 1910 would be nineteen ten instead of nineteen hundred ten, although the latter is used as well. Anything after 2000 is said like two thousand [insert year here]. Kinda weird, thinking about it now :p
      By the way, Norwegians use both systems I believe: single-and-double & doublesingle - 35, trettifem, fem og tretti
