Hello from South Africa. My native language is Arikaans and Im learning Dutch to discover the similarities between them and I love the way that Dutch is pronounced.♥️🇿🇦🇳🇱
Hello from Kenya🇰🇪, my native language is Swahili and I'm currently learning Dutch to try and expand my perspective on things and found this language to be very interesting, please keep the series going🤗
We are moving from South Africa to Leuven, Belgium. We are native Afrikaans speakers and are giving your videos a try to see how we can improve our Dutch!
Hello from Vietnam, I hit the like button even before I watch this. Because I am learning Dutch, mate! And I always wanted you to make such videos like this! Aww, I'll enjoy every single second of it! Thank you! En fijne dag!
Loveoutloud2110 Bedankt voor je comment! I'm flattered that you're interested in these ^^ How come someone from Vietnam wants to learn Dutch, of all languages?
I have met a lot of awesome dutch people travelling in Vietnam when I travel all over my country. He rejected me, ahahaha (bravo for your directness, guys) but I still love learning it without clear reasons anymore. I think learning Dutch actually saves my quarter life crisis. I followed your youtube channel for awhile. Like, real cool!
Hello from France ! Thank you for making those helpful videos ! I was supposed to go to Amsterdam but you know, coronavirus.... But I'm still motivated to learn Dutch, so I'm taking advantage of the lockdown. I've started recently and it's very interesting !
Another great video! I really need to improve my Dutch (very quickly, as I'm going to Amsterdam for the first time on Wednesday...) so I'll be following this series very closely!
Ha, see you at the airport then! I'm going home for a week on Wednesday as well. I live in the North, but I have to travel via Schiphol Airport. For how long are you going to Amsterdam?
Ha! That's so weird.
Met 'I live in the north' bedoelde ik Groningen.
I hope you see this comment! I really really appreciate the effort you put in your videos and I wish you keep making videos forever. You inspire me a lot and you definitely deserve more attention. I love the way you speak and your personality❤️
Hi I will reply to you instead, if you’re fluent in English it’s easier to learn Dutch as it is very similar, while Spanish is completely different and has a really difficult grammar (ex. Accents).
no it's quite a bit different, but being an english native speaker I wouldn't say it's impossible to get the hang of it. Similar to learning a basic math formula.
1 Reason not to learn it if you're a native English speaker: almost every Dutch person seems to have an English level of B2, C1 or, like Tom, C2, at least in the major cities :)
'In the major cities' is a key disclaimer :p I could definitely introduce you to some more rurally located family members that never got much further than A2ish. Not to mention Dutch people over like 65, English skill rapidly declines after that. If you really want to be blown away by English-as-a-second-language speakers, try any Scandinavian country. They're generally unbelievably good over here - and very humble about it to boot :)
@@TomCatchesUp You're right; I was exaggerating slightly :) I remember a shopkeeper lady in the outskirts of Haarlem with whom I had difficulty communicating. Another customer had to help out and translate. Stupidly, I remember feeling shocked that her English was so poor, even though there are probably hundreds of thousands of people here in London whose English is no better than hers

You have a nice channel! Thank you very much!
Gezellig is actually such a nice word. I just learned it a few days ago. It should be mentioned as the first reason lol.

Well done mate, interesting format keep going!
Or maybe because of Van Gogh, Ajax, Amsterdam, Cruyff, Oliebollen and Biycless.
Ik ben dol op Nederland ❤️❤️🇳🇱
im dutch
Then I doubt there's much to learn for you in this series :p
Uit welke stad komt jou ?
If 90% of dutch people speak English my main question is it useful language to get hired in Netherland ?
is it hard to learn compared to spanish?

is the grammar like english?

Word order in the sentence is quite different
