I can vouch for this tip! The first time I made the ganache it was horrible and oily. Completely my fault, because I accidentally used half-and-half instead of heavy cream. Fat content really makes a difference. The second time, it came together beautifully, but it was soooo runny. Popped it in the fridge, checking on it and stirring every 10-15 min or so. That looks so delicious!...i have a question about the level of the cakes. I see all the best bakers have to level their cakes, but this one guy uses those wet strips and his cakes are perfect every time. No waste. Why do not all the bakers do this?
I’m not a professional baker, but I believe that it depends on how much it domes, if there is a lot of doming (if that is a word) you would probably need to level, however if it is quite flat I don’t think it needs to, overall it depends on the persons preference and how much the cake domes. Hope this helps. 😊

Plus, many of you don’t realize how long these processes really are....if this were live-streamed, it would take hours. Who’s willing to stay for that long? How would anyone keep that entertaining for that long? Think these things through.
Hello Jemma! Love your videos. Just started baking and used one of your recipes for my daughters 17th birthday. She loved it, however I think I can do better. I wondered if you ever use the scraps for like cake pops or anything? If so could you do a video on that? Thanks so much! I have your book ordered too!
OMG. You could not believe what I've done. Instead of the wet ingredients, I added the frosting. They look so similar! Good thing I only added half of the frosting and then realized what I was doing. Now I only have enough frosting to fill the cake so I'm making some chocolate buttercream for the outside layer. Hope they turn out fine!
@@sheilamackliet4515 No, sadly, things didn't turn out. Because there was so much excess moisture in the cakes, when I took them out of the pan, they fell apart into pieces. So what I did what I gathered the crumbles into a large bowl and purposely broke the ones that weren't broken. Then I used the remaining the ganache to put inside the crumbs to make a cake pop mix. Then I lined a bowl with cling film and pressed the whole of the cake pop mix into the bowl. I refrigerated it overnight. The following morning, I warmed the bowl in some warm water and then flipped the bowl onto a plate. I peeled back the cling film and cocvered the cake with the buttercream I made. Who knew it turned out to be a delicious dome cake!
Thanks Jemma, i tried this recipe to the dot and result was amazing. I used the whole recipe for a 26cm cake tin and it was great. Took longer to cook of course.
Dimitra Kalogirou hey, 170degrees as she recommended. But took longer because my cake tin is larger and deeper. I put all of the recipe in a 26cm tin. Not sure if 180 would be quicker and still turn out good.
I agree in that I thought it was going to be live streamed as well but can see that being very hard to pick a time so that most people could bake with you from around the world. I am in USA and although I love your channel, I don’t think I would feel up to baking at 3am or at some other crazy time it may be for us in US vs UK time. Keep up the great work! I want to go to London now just so I can go to your shop and see if my baked goods from your recipes are as good as the ones on your shop and to try many others 😊

I love to bake, this is the most amazing cake ever. Can't wait to make it again & again. Thank you so much for sharing, when covid is over I want to visit your shop. I have started baking for everyone again thanks to you guys & it has made so many smile. Lots of love to you & your team. xx
Hi, Rose r u starting baking? And u make a all recipe cupcake jemma,?
@@ambreensohaib5359 Hi, yes I have always loved baking and trying different recipes to share with family & friends.
@@rosemichel1436 thank you
That looks so delicious!...i have a question about the level of the cakes.
PMS Pam Made Soap Those strips are good but you need to extend the baking time
Hi Jemma. Thank you for the recipe. I tried and its really tasty.

"Make yourself a cup of tea and relax" - love your videos, you give so many very very good tips which you don't hear on other videos. Thank you x
Maybe some cream puffs another time? They’re a lot easier than they seem, but involve some really useful skills to learn.
Loving the Canada and Toronto magnets on the top of your stove....😜😍😘

Hi, Jemma I think you should do it in a live stream format next time I am really enjoying baking along but I think it would be more fun as a live stream.

Hi Jemma, what cake tins do you use? Also could you recommend a good vanilla extract?
Love these new videos!!
as always a candid display of your culinary genius!
Thanks a lot Jemma, i guess you can show us how to make apple crumble tarte(pie)
Please bake a spice chocolate cake (with cayenne pepper). I really want to try that.
I like when you suggest using other material. As like me who doesn't have all the baking utensils so I can still do it. Thank you!
Yup.. Would love to watch you in a livestream..
AWSOME RECIPE!!!!! I did the cream cheese frosting between layers & chocolate ganache frosting
Gonna make cake pops with the leftovers. 🤗🤗🤩
Please make tarts too!
Lemon tart maybe !??
anamunir I love lemon tart or the French named tart au citron. Actually I love anything sweet which is why I’m watching this whilst being on the ketogenic diet rather than making it.
Jemma's shown us how to make short crust pastry, lemon curd, and meringue. Just assemble and you've got yourself a lemon pie. 😊😊
I just made this again, my family luvs this cake, I've made this for the 3rd. x, I can't handle a lot of chocolate but it gives me a reason to bake me my own flavor of cupcakes which luv the cereal milk or the biscoff cupcakes r my favorites & I have made them so many times, I have lost count of how many times I've made them (surprised I can't remember the measurements by heart, lol) thank u for sharing your recipes w/us, luv u all at Crumbs & Dollies, keep safe, lots of luv from Cleveland, Ohio
Plus, many of you don’t realize how long these processes really are....if this were live-streamed, it would take hours. Who’s willing to stay for that long? How would anyone keep that entertaining for that long? Think these things through.
Looks sooo yum n soothing
Will definitely try it soon! Surely on my to do bucket list!
so happy to participate in this one together ❤️
Thanks Jemma, this is one the beat recipes ive ever tried!!! The outcome was good!!! Thanks
Love from Australia ❤️❤️❤️❤️
That frosting looks incredible - it just looks so fudgey and gooey... mmm.
Pleaaase make a black forest cake!!!
Oh I bet that turned out so yummy. A happy accident...😁
Hey! On what degree did you bake the cake?
Dimitra Kalogirou hey, 170degrees as she recommended. But took longer because my cake tin is larger and deeper. I put all of the recipe in a 26cm tin. Not sure if 180 would be quicker and still turn out good.
Great, thank you! I didn't hear it in the video and that's why I asked
I really want to see yorkshire pudding!!!
Yes that would be fantaboulos!!!!
