Congratulations on the 10k!! Absolutely well deserved, you guys make my favourite battle reports - great camera setups, pre- and post talks, good banter, gorgeously painted models etc ... and Bonereapers are gonna win, which is a sad thing to say as a CoS player 😢
@53:20 the reaction to how much shooting dice rolling there is here is hilarious considering warhammer 40k. My army in 40k: Roll 1 hit, wound, save, random damage Roll 1 hit, wound, save, random damage Roll 1 hit, wound, save, random damage Roll random # of shots, wound, save Roll 6 hit, wound, save Roll 10 hit, wound, save Congratulations youve resolved the shooting from 1 of your 5 kabalite warrior squads.
Congrats guys on getting to 10k subscribers, well deserved success. ‘Don’t give me attitude’ moment made me lol. Another excellent battle report. Shooting armies are currently my nemesis with my SBGL.
Great rep as always! Pretty sure the bone horsies could have piled within 6" from the battle mage after Talia attacked. At least when I measure it's 6-7 inches away. To stop the battle tactic I mean.
I think most people still agree that AoD can't be used as a reaction to covering fire because it doesn't outline that you target anything in the declare step. It only forces you to target the closest unit in the effect step, which is too late to react. That's Rules as Written as far as I know.
AoD says it’s a reaction to ‘opponent declared an attack ability’ and you select ‘a unit targeted by that attack ability’, Covering fire is ‘resolve shooting attacks for that unit…’ so seems fine?
@@lukemcfadden2369 the problem isn't the reaction, the problem is the "Used By: A unit targeted by that ATTACK ability" - and covering fire doesn't target in the declare step so you don't have a unit that is eligible to use all-out defence, since the reaction is used after declare, but before resolve. RAW this seems quite clear, the question if that was intended is a different one, but judging intent is a very slippery slope. I wouldn't be completely surprised if a load-bearing FAQ is coming for that one at some point
Congratulations on the membership. Can we get more closer shots of the models in future battles? We spent a lot of time in the overhead camera in that one and although that's good for movement it's poor for the rest of the turn.
Gratz on 10k subs! David - I loved the oops all dragons list from last week. Are you planning any future iterations? I'd love to hear about possible tweaks you'd make to the list during your wrap-up as you mention MVP and LVP. Thanks for the battle reports!
Hello, thanks for battlereport - there was only 1 3 roled on krondspine (2 was taken out), and i think you would overtake the forest from crawler - you have standart - so 6 control against 5
Maybe I missed something but a unit of cavaliers with a standard bearer should have a control score of 6 which would have then taken the objective for CoS. Not sure if this actually changes the outcome of the game or not.
Man, I was sure that the battle mage had to choose a spell from the spell lore ash's couldn't choose the Krondspine to get the extra cast. So happy to be wrong.
I feel like Michael would have a much higher success rate if he could roll even ALMOST average lol. I'd love to see a game where they roll for each other.
@@BattleshockWargaming I love videos either way. You guys must be a long time. Great friends to be able to play so much Warhammer together without declaring war against each other
By the way the deathriders only do charge damage to an enemy infantry unit if they passed over them (read their rule again), they don’t get free charge damage like every other faction😢
@@mattyno964look again. They have two different abilities, one allows them to pass through enemy infantry units when they charge, then a second ability said that you can pick an enemy infantry unit that they passed across to be the target, then deal mortal damage to the target, so you still have to pass across them to do the damage. And sure they’ve got a 6+ ward, but compare that to Slaves to Darkness knights who have 4 wounds a 3+, have a better attack profile and do mortal damage on the charge no matter what.
@@codydodge3856 you can charge slightly over the base then back and still use the mortal damage rule. But they were doing it against cavalry which aren't infantry so still incorrect
OBR are such a weird army. This battle report shows that both OBR and Cities are armies that require you to build them in very specific ways to make them competitive. Obr definitely needs katakros, immortis guard, and then either the crawlers or Mortek guard. There isnt enough data right now on how good the ballistas really are this game? I think the battle formation to bring back a mortek guard is better. Generally, obr are in a rough state compared to nighthaunt and SBG (but much better than FEC). This obr list did suprisingly well! As for cities. That army is becoming more mediocre everyday. The cavaliers are just a downgrade in comparison to the drakespawn cavalry models, and the gun spam, although sometimes scary, doesnt survive very long, and honestly id rather just take ironbreakers with a runepriest to make a indestructible shield wall. Talia is cool but probably not as effective as just a battlemage on a griffon. Also please take the cities battleformation that gives your wizard's +1 to cast! The cavalry one is so bad 👎 I think both of you guys put a lot of thought into these lists and honestly these 2 armies are very hard to figure out right now. Hoping to see more in the future!
@@iamnintendofan it’s commonly accepted in competitive circles/Coach’s rules discord that you can’t. I believe the reasoning behind it is Covering Fire isn’t targeting a specific unit. It’s resolving effects to the nearest target.

Does the mortek crawler not get its strike last effect if you use covering fire?
Seeing Michael bump a 5 into a 3 with the krondspine and miss his battle tactic was rough. This game was hilarious though.

I love OBR, my ballystari has 3 crawlers, or if I use 2 i use the harvester. I play a single Liege kavalos to host the crawlers
