Chaos Duardin / a "Hashut faction" are a safe bet now. In AoS 4.0 we had all these "Hashut Forge Cities" plopping up on all the maps, we had the Horns of Hashut warband for Warcry. The Hobgrots of the Kruleboys are supposed to be equipped by "Hashut worshipping duardin" and we had the lore snippit form the last Slaves to Darkness battletome, that there is a new unknown faction that is corrupting the land in the mountains.
7:35 in rhe Dwanbringer crusade books, Kragnos was searching for survivors from his race. Do you think that the chaos dwarves centaurian guys will be AoS-ified as survivors of that race who were taken and enslaved by the chaos duardin? Remember that Kragnos size is unnatural and come from all the ghur realmstones he ate.
Kragnos is the last model I finished. He isn't even that big, it's mostly his base. I like your thinking. I'm also a kruleboyz player so love the tie in and I have 30/40 hobgrots waiting.
Maybe 2026 will be the year of the Duardin. Like KO, Fyreslayers, and mortal Cities Dwarves all need new minis and/or updates. So they could have a big "Year two of the Edition" thing with tons of little dudes
That would be awsome. I think there is a ton of money to be made by GW by supporting traditional cities Duardin because many of us have no interest in Playing KO or Fyreslayers. But both of those armies need some rounding out as well, like some calvary for Fyreslayers or more foot troops for KO. I thought Kruleboyz would get a cool swamp calvary unit or something but all we got is one sad little hobgrot hero. Yet Gitz with an already huge roster got all the wolf stuff. Honestly there seems to be no rhyme or reason as to the decisions that GW makes.
This might not be Chaos Dwarfs. It might be a Valaya faction of Dwarfs - the Ancestors who died in their Holdfasts, and have now been resurrected by Valaya as “Stone Golem” Dwarfs. It’s the green eyes that suggest this to me, for if they were Chaos Dwarfs i would expect the eyes would probably be more of a fiery hue, instead they seem like a wholesome green hue, like emeralds inset into his cracked, Granite skin. Just my gut instinct. It could still very well be Chaos Dwarfs though, just in a dramatically different aesthetic.
To be fair, they've been teasing them for ages in Warcry and tucked away on various maps. If I was on the GW design team, I wouldn't call them Chaos Dwarves, or Chaos Duardin though, they would be the Hashut'him or something.
I want to go full on tinfoil hat, hopium and copium, and say that the hobgrot slittaboss can randomly include a generic monster in his regiment because the hobgrot range will be shared between chaos dwarves and kruleboyz and that there is a generic monster mounted by hobgrots with the chaos dwarves...
Thats a good idea. It would also encourage people to collect the new army if they already had a bunch of hobgrots painted up. I really like the concept of limited cross army basic troops.
Not sure if you play TW:WH3, but the chaos dwarves have an insane roster, speaking on what you mentioned what could possibly be in the AoS roster, they have a great mix of infantry, monstrous infantry, artillery, magic lores and monsters
I'm an old school gamer, and my first WFB army was Chaos Dwarf. I picked up the recent Blood Bowl CD team, so the idea of CD appearing in AoS is super exciting! I can't wait to see more.
It could be a lot quicker than the end of the year considering how short of a time frame we got between the end of show teaser to being fully revealed it took the Emperor's Children
I think they'll focus more on sorcery and daemon engines to distance them from fyreslayers. Which would be a bit of a shame since fire goes perfectly with the industrial themes of chorfs. The stone skin and warp green eyes of the teaser feels very cold as well, doesn’t invoke the same aesthetic of the old world chorfs
I feel like big hats could either make them really flavorful and cool or kind of lame and over the top. The sculpt would need to be done right for sure.
I feel like we know what chaos dwarves look like in AoS because we've already seen two in the Warcry kits (one in Iron Golems and one in Spire Tyrants)
I'm really excited to know how Hashut would fit in with the other chaos gods + i want more collab lore with the kruleboyz!! Design wise I hope they go more into the Ancient Minoan vibes the horns of hashut gave off
I hope they're actually quite different from standard fantasy chaos dwarves. One of the things I appreciate about AoS is that the dwarf factions feel so non-standard, yet familiar.
There is a guy in our discord who constantly says "chaos dwarves are never gonna be a thing. They look horrible and no one likes them." So I absolutely vibed with the video opener. Get wreck'd breh.
I'm sorry to say, I'm not sure if it is Chaos Duardin. I like the idea that they would be finally brought in, but I am not entirely ceratin that that would be the case. Because the idea of that being the eyes of Malerion has been floating around as well. HOWEVER! If it is Chaos Dwarfs, I want big fuck-off massive hats.
Not my army, but I think they're really cool and make the whole AoS universe better by existing. Really hope this becomes real and I get to see some sweet big hats on the table.
Can’t help but get drawn in by the face, and automatically get pulled to the God Bear Ursun for Kislev, particularly the imagery in WH3 game. Looks like a big polar bear to me.😅
I think, and hope, their asthetic leans into the one chaos duardin in the iron golems warband- stout, metal beard armor. I think they could have the big hats big smoke stacks, which could be sick
I knew the Chaos Dwarves/Followers of Hashut were coming soon since they released the horns of hashut warband, so they already have a warcry warband, and the lore for them is that they are sent to spread desolation ahead of the coming of the rest of the army. Chekhov's gun is already smoking.
I want them to keep the Ironsworn helmet at least. But realistically... I can see them tweaking the hashut foundry vibes into a dieselpunk aesthetic to mirror kharadron.
Chaos Dwarves might get me over the edge and plunge into AoS. Though, I dread them changing the astetics of them to much, I really like the Chaos Dwarfs from Fantasy and their intepretation in Total War Warhammer 3. More of a 'clockwork' or steampunk theme might still be good tho. Time will tell...
There is a possiblity that this could be a remake of beasts of chaos maybe as they also have a bull / horn asthetic.....However i think a direct hint we are seeing is the glowing green eyes which do indeed look "artificial" with the markings on them. I have a wild theory... This will be Chaos duardin but it will be a Death faction, Chaos already has more than enough as it is and Skaven already provide the mechanical firepower side of things........From the old world the chaos dwarfs did use Death magic and one of the first things we saw hinted about them is a form of "oil rig" in the middle of the ocean in the realm of death.... My guess is that they simply did not survive the end of the old world, in a last fit of desperation they stuffed themselves into machines. This will be a Death dwarf army of Cyborgs essentially and the glowing green eyes is a hint at the "Deathly magic" which is often portrayed as glowing green in AOS, i want to see large mechanical Squids [ featured in Man o War ] - i want to see Bull centaurs return in mechanic form with exhausts of blazing flames, i wanna see the Train return but fully sentient with a dwarfs face on the front like a twisted horror Thomas the tank engine. One can dream....
Going by the helmet pciture in the core rule book it should be an amaligmation of all previous with a heavy dose of forge. Cogs and mineing shafts could be described as steampunk....but KO and Skyrer are competing aethetics so the mining and forge route will have to be the way they take it. Heavy armour to distinguish them from Fyreslayers. The human 'worshipers' and the hobgrot's demonstrate what they lesser equipped units kit look like too. Having the sorcerors all akin to Astragoth would be sick. Lord having their best magic user a character who is entirely a statue as one of the big characters on a demon bound mechanised platform would be gnarly. Deamon bound Warmachines powered by fire and souls. Blunderbusses and bull centures are surely all shoe ins right? Though the Taurus should be the first monster they do, i surely can't be the only one who would prefer to see a lammasu make its return?
I'm gonna be a jerk here but Honestly, the further they get away from the Denizens of Zhar Nagrund in ascetic, the less I'll like them. Give me big hats, blunderbuss, trains and bulls. Infernal Guard are also welcome.
I am unfathomably hyped. I already have Hobgrots ready for this force. But good lord this is going to bankrupt me. I have to say Big Hat Chorfs. Can't go wrong with it, even though it'll probably be Azgorh themed. Kharadron already have that steampunk aesthetic down. I imagine they'll hunker down on the mechanical aspects of the armor, using a lot of the K'daai and Bull Centaurs to make it look the way it does.
Holy fucking fuck shit fuck YES!!!!! I can’t wait!!! The army I wanted to play as a kid but couldn’t afford cos I was a kid and my parents were financially poor, now I have adult money I’m going HARD
they need a new destruction faction i dont think well be seeing the chaos dwarfs yet with all the shake up choas Lore wise but if i had to place a Guess It will be the "Silent People" that have been hinted to several times over. Also with all the glam Up on factions Destruction is kind of in the hole with the loss of several models from that range.
I kind of hope maybe for some new kharadron units along side this, as well as maybe some fireslayer units but I feel like they would need a little bit of a refresh as not sure the models have aged as well as the kharadron (like that one warcry unit i think??)

Yeah when i read that, i had the same idea, Kragnos´s people survived and came under Hashuts influence and (d)evolved into bullcentaurs
HASHUT HASHUT HASHUT!

I am so here for evil clockwork train duardin. 🎉
“Hammers of Hashut.” My guess for the faction name. 🤣 Chaos alliance is eating!

For AoS, GW is going the Kharadron Overlords route with the Chaos Duardin. But, instead of airships, the Chaos Duardin will be using submarines.
nah, land crawlers of some kind
They will be the train faction
