Looking back, the scale of this fight was absolutely ridiculous, and yet, I loved every second.
Yeah it took me awhile to realize this boss fight was so fantastical because Xemnas actually was channeling the power of KH
This was THE RPG!
It's very ironic how a part of Xehanort gets to use the full power of *(his version/copy of)* KH, while the actual Xehanort couldn't in Kingdom Hearts III. Probably because the one in KH3 was the actual Kingdom Hearts and not a copy, thus much more powerful (Xehanort would've been unbeatable)
Why, because of the 4 phases or the location of each fight feeling a bit other worldly?

Xemnas deserved better in KH3.
He was a far superior adversary than the time jumping old man and atleast he had a legit goal... he wanted to use a keyblade warrior to kill heartless to generate enough hearts to give the nobodies their bodies back. A bitter sweet understandable villian. Not like old man nort who just wants to destroy the world because reasons.
That was true until Kh DDD ruins Xemnas purpose.
Supposedly yes but then the plot developed and you discover that wasn't his goal at all. But his my favorite villain to be honest. KH2 is one of the best games in the series for me.
KewlCrayon That was actually never his true goal. It’s heavily implied in kh2 and 358/2 Days.(He even outright says it to Ansem the Wise.)
Xemnas wanted ultimate power from KH. But as we know in DDD, Ansem and Xemnas were just subconsciously preparing hearts and vessels.
Ansem and Xemnas were the best villains. Ansem was a mad scientist philosopher who was convinced that darkness was the true essence of everything and wanted to create a new world in his own image. Xemnas was a complex and melancholy villain who wanted the ultimate power of Kingdom Hearts to fill his own inner emptiness and become whole again... no matter what it took. Master Xehanort started off cool (Birth by Sleep all but confirmed that Ansem was literally Master Xehanort as a Heartless), but 3D made the relationships between the Norts confusing and then Kingdom Hearts III ruined the old man.

@Hollow Tim It's not that bad in my opinion, because this is a easy boss fight. If anything it adds to the tension and makes me hands more clammy.
Hollow Tim Just press square every time Xemnas starts moving toward you. Even if he’s off axis the attack will track and hit him. Just do that until you get close enough to save Sora.

The Kingdom Hearts manga gives a little more depth to Sora's "Nobodies don't exist" line to Xemnas, because it felt odd Sora would be this cold after Axel and Roxas. He says the line in the manga ("Nobodies don't have emotions. You don't exist") but then remembers Axel, Roxas and Demyx (In the manga Sora was shaken by Demyx's death) He then corrects himself and says: "No, I'm wrong. Only you don't have emotions, Xemnas. You're not sad about anything."
I just noticed Xemnas has those electrical hand aura that Terra used to have when he summons his key blade. It’s so dope.

The music during the dragon phase of the fight is pretty epic.
I guess Xemnas flies because he is aware of the slow movement of Terra's body, so he tries to workaroud.

Kingdom Heats II was the true Kingdom Hearts III the whole time. A fantastic conclusion that respected every prior installment while bringing it’s own brilliant ideas. A finale, story, conclusion, and game Kingdom Hearts III wishes it could have even an iota of.

@@soul6733 Xemnas is an individual being from Xehanort despite his origin, as we watched in KH3 he saw meaningless in Master Xehanort (as much as Ansem The Darkness Seeker) plan due of he must to sacrifice himself to achieve it. And his final is a redemption of himself as he developed a fraternalism onto his companions but all ended up in a disloyalty.

I've always wondered... did Xemnas create both the World That Never Was and the realm where we fight him? If so, wouldn't that make him by far the KH Villain with the strongest feats? He's literally creating a whole new world and dimension.

At the beginning of the game (with Roxas) you have an option of 3 struggle bats, if you choose the one on the far right, the strength one, that's the first part of it, when you have to choose your weapon, theirs a Sword, Shield, and Staff, choose the sword. Boom. Fuck ton of health. It will take a bit to get but, it works. Lel :D
Sonic Mike you can also get health by leveling up that works to. :D

Darkness of the Unknown was thought to be as eerie, creepy, sad and somber possible. You are fighting a monster with power over Nothingness who is hated by the universe itself for being who he is, and that monster just lost everything that made him willing to even go on. There's nothing brave or intense about this battle except for its pace and its length.
Only sadness remains where once Void dwelt.
Fantastic battle, did they update the music as well? Some of it sounds more orchestral than I remember.
Also, did they cut out the bit where they're stuck in the darkness by the water, or am I mixing scenes up?

I tackled this battle at level 37 on Critical mode. That's the only way you can get good at the game.
