I know that for Colors she has said in an interview that the guy loved her for being red but after he rubbed off on her and her personality changed picking up pieces of him it made her lilac and he didnt like her for not being red anymore so with the video I guess he liked her for being young and the relationship made her more mature and he didnt like that I guess
So, Halsey has bipolar disorder, and my ex-girlfriend also has bipolar disorder too. While I do not, I do have borderline personality disorder. From what my ex and I talked about (she and I are both huge Halsey fans) we felt like the song “Ghost” had a lot of elements relating to using sex as a form of self-harm. Obviously fetishes and sex in general are great, but when you’re using it as a form of validation because you’ve lost your sense of self, that can further harm a person’s mental health. I love Bill’s interpretation and just wanted to add some more context to it.
I would absolutely DIE if you did "Hold Me Down", "Control", and "Gasoline". Some of my favorites from her! P.S. Love watching your videos! You go so much more in depth than most people.
It took me so many listens of New Americana to realize that the James Dean bit was about a gay boy who fell in love with a guy on his high school football team and ended up marrying him
Elvia Sanchez It took me literal years. This song came out in 2015 and I’ve been listening to it pretty much non stop since then and I just figured it out like a month ago. It’s because I find that I never really listen to lyrics, I just hear them, but I don’t really analyze them bc like music is supposed to be relaxing, so I’m not sitting here analyzing every word.
To me, Alone always felt like Halsey talking about how people want her because she is famous, and that she thinks they wouldn't like her if they got to know her.
I just want to watch you react to 'Manic.' Start to finish, the entire album. Well, I want you to watch you react to all three albums, but the newest gal first. You really learn a lot about her as an artist.
So for the song "Colors" she discussed it in an interview that the whole song is about being in love with someone and when you change to become more like them "becoming a liliac sky", they lose interest in who you've become. But I love when you said "Ma Halsey", you're fantastic.
you should do a "try to Stan" for Gorillaz. They're an animated band from Damon Albarn (lead singer of Blur) and Jamie Hewlett (co creator of tank girl). Feel good inc and Clint Eastwood are their most recognizable songs but I would love it if you listened to their more underrated gems. Ones that stick out to me are To binge, November has come, she's my collar and their two latest release, Momentary Bliss and Desole.
@@thethirdbill if you do get the chance to do a TTS for them, I recommend listening to El Mañana, Souk Eye, Andromeda and Empire Ants. Each are from different albums that they released.
I'd love to see you "try to stan" artists such as Alec Benjamin (genre unspecified but more pop/alternative pop leaning), Ruel (pop), and The Driver Era (alternative rock). With Alec Benjamin and Ruel, it would be interesting to see you react to them. They both have pretty strong followings and are growing quite rapidly. Though if I had to pick one that I'd prefer you to react to, I'd say Alec Benjamin because he does tend to have deeper, and sometimes darker, themes to his music. Ruel does also have some deep themes in his music but I have a feeling that you would enjoy dissecting Alec Benjamin's music more, especially like you did in the YUNGBLUD videos. The Driver Era is just one of my favorite duos, which is why I threw it in there, but I would definitely enjoy watching you react to and dissect the other artist's music.
u should totally react to her older songs Gasoline and Control!! Also to her new album Manic and "Experiment on me" from album Birds of Prey💜 anyways i really liked ur reaction
I would HIGHLY suggest trying to stan Alec Benjamin!! He's such an underrated artist and he does such a beautiful job illustrating a story with his music! Some specific songs I would love to see you react to are "Boy in a Bubble", "If We Have Each Other", "Water Fountain", "Annabelle's Homework", "Mind is a Prison", "Love is a Fragile Dance", "If I Killed Someone For You", and "Must Have Been the Wind". Obviously, I don't expect you to react to all of these in one video but this is just a general list of songs you can pick from. I really enjoyed this video just like all your other videos, keep up the awesome work and keep being you, Bill!
YAAAAAASSS BILL MORE HALSEY!! YOU GOTTA DO THE FULL ALBUMS! BADLANDS, HOPELESS FOUNTAIN KINGDOM AND MANIC (all deluxe editions) as well as the Room 93 EP. Hurricane and Ghost were the first Halsey songs I heard and whoooooooo buddy. Lifelong fan.
I agree, I feel like listening to the songs separately means you don't get to appreciate them in the same way as with full albums (I heard hurricane first too! its still one of my top songs by her)
I loved this! Your perception of her songs is brilliant, please do more! I personally would suggest: Roman Holiday, More (this one is a tear jerker, be warned), Control, Eyes closed, Is there Somewhere, Clementine, and 929.
Yeeesssss Halsey!! (Also please please please do Conan gray he's super amazing, maybe listen to the story, checkmate, or the king, but really any of them)
halseys first two albums are concept albums so to get them 100% you have to watch it/listen to it in order (or look up the storyline), manic is a bit different bc it’s personal to her, but still, it makes more sense if you listen in order bc it’s separated in three parts (going from the most public halsey persona to the most personal ashley stuff), i love her as a songwriter but she really REALLY shines when it comes to creating stories and other art related to her music
Halsey is a story teller, so if you really want to understand her songs better and truly appreciate them in a new way, you have to always listen to her full albums (deluxe editions) even the music videos for her hopeless fountain kingdom album were released in an order so when combined together they tell a story..if you watch her long in depth interviews about her albums, and hear her talk about the inspiration and the writing process..these interviews are fascinating..she's soooo eloquent and smart..her lyric songwriting ability are definitely one of the best amongst the other artists out there currently.
I’m so glad you did another one of her videos but UGH. I SO badly want to see you react to “11 Minutes” with YUNGBLUD. Also, “More”. Your breakdown of that... I am dying for it.
I really love the singles Sorry and Strangers. Some of my favorites are non-single songs are Gasoline, Devil in Me, 3 AM and More. I highly recommend all of these.
Hey, I'm watching you from my bed in a rehab facility while I learn to walk and eat again. I love your videos and I want you to know that I'm really glad you gave me a distraction while my life falls apart. I think it'd be really cool if you tried to Stan Hobo Johnson, but I'll watch whatever you react to. Thanks for being here
Listen here, I came because I saw Bill and Halsey. No one warned me that I'd be treated to Bill singing Hamilton. I wasn't prepared but I grinned so hard. Also yes I'm definitely down for a TTS Halsey part 3. These are so fun.
You should react to Halsey’s first album, Badlands, I feel like she put so much heart into that album, it’s so well done and it feels way more genuine, I don’t want to sound like that kind of person that doesn’t like artists changing but that album feels like she wasn’t trying to be commercial, but express herself and it’s just fantastic
Gosh I LOVE Halsey! Definitely agree that you should do some more of her. :0 And I know I just asked for you to do 5SOS but I didn't elaborate much on them. Overall they're definitely a rock band, but they have such a wide range of sounds within that rock umbrella that it's hard to be specific about what exactly 5SOS is. And if you listen to 5SOS as much as I have you begin to notice that they have two totally different but very distinct and equally good styles for their songs, though they also have songs that fall somewhere in the middle, but they're all noticeably 5SOS. Their first style and many of the songs that fall into this style are my personal favorites, have a slower, more emotional feel to them. Old Me, Ghost of You, Amnesia, Where Ever You Are, Why Won't You Love Me. They have defined stories, and I'd LOVE to see how you break down those stories and the events within those songs. Of course, their other style is VERY rock. Teeth, Youngblood, Voodoo Doll, Easier, End Up Here. They're very rock, wild guitars and insane vocals, but they to have stories and it would make my day to see you react to the high notes and rifts that they hit. Specifically Teeth. Please do Teeth. A good mix of songs would be one that incorporates both of those styles, and neither style is specific to their older or newer stuff. Amnesia and Voodoo Doll are from their first album, but Old Me and Teeth are in their newest album coming out on the 27th, and they've been doing music for a decade!
Halsey is one of the people/artists that I greatly look up to and it's always cool to see people enjoy her work as I do ! I would recommend listening to her albums as a whole since they are conceptual, but every song is beautiful on its own. Love the deep dive and review as always, keep doing what you do !!
can we just talk about how Halsey met a fan and hugged her and the fan was like "do you remember me" and she was like "heck yeah I do we met a few years back at a park" and the fan was like "sksjasakycrgbjsxcs yes" I mean she remembered a fan she had a brief encounter with YEARS ago like what an absolute queen
AHhhHhHH thanks for liking this omg also if you want to watch the clip its ua-cam.com/video/OcKvf-n9Yjs/v-deo.html&feature=emb_title&ab_channel=GISMOTELA
I’ve been having some trouble knowing who i am and how i feel lately, you know, sexuality is a whole damn thing to discover and i think being an adolescent makes the deal even bigger... I’m just constantly trying to find the “answer” but i don’t give myself time to even think about what that answer could be. Your words about “ghost” really made me stop and think and i found comfort in them, yeah, that’s all I wanted to say... thank you, you always make me see things in a different way. Please keep doing your reactions, I really enjoy them. 💜
Sending you all the support as you continue to figure things out. Take your time. Life isn't a race. Respect others and yourself, and be safe. I'm 28 and still figuring things out haha :')
YESSS IM SO GLAD YOU DECIDED TO DO HALSEY AGAIN! I just went to her concert in February and it was such an experience, definitely didn’t cry the entire time👀 also in colors you can see Halsey trying to dress and act like her Mom because the Mom and the boys dad like each other or atleast the Mom likes him. Also Falling in Reverse: The drug in me is reimagined would be amazing to react to
i love hearing your interpretations of songs. Most of the time you say something i never even thought of (specifically for Colors, love that song, but i never even thought of that meaning)
Trying to stan Demi Lovato Song choices: • Anyone (Grammys live) • Skyscraper • Cool for the Summer • Father • Stone Cold • For the Love of a Daughter • I Love Me • Lonely • For You • Lionheart 5 songs per part, could possibly get more parts out of her content.
Maybe try checking out Mystery Skulls? Its a bit more of a party vibe, but there's also an animated music video series in the works based on songs from his 'Forever' album. I'd definitely like to hear your thoughts on the music!
I was thrilled to get this notif!! I truly think you can't go wrong with picking Halsey songs to react to, they all truly have different meanings (even though each album has its own vision). I think you could react to some interviews of hers, she has done a couple public speeches ("inconvenient woman", "women's march speech") and she has done interviews about her endometriosis. Love the vid, Bill !!
im so happy about this that i liked before watching it. i really like these videos and i completely forgot to watch more but I definitely am going to. (plus im seeing Halsey tomorrow. the timing of this is excellent aaaaa thank you)
I love this series. It's awesome to see your take on music for the first time. A band I would love to see you stan is Son Lux. They aren't really super mainstream, but I love their music so much. It's so artistic and unique. Some songs I'd like to see you listen to are Easy, Lost It To Trying, Yesterday's Wake, Cage of Bones, and You Don't Know Me. A lot of these songs have music videos too. They are all so unique and artistic and I would love to hear you try to pick apart the meaning in them. Cheers, friend - keep up the good work :)
Hey Bill! Your post about switching up the style of TTS for album reactions has given me an idea for a new variation on TTS. You could try doing like a TTS mega-mix type of video? You could have viewers submit their favourite lyric/quote from a song in the comments below, and then select a handful to react to the whole song? It's just because you have a fair few suggestions for TTS that have a much smaller demand when compared to other artists so this may provide a chance to vary things a bit? Plus I think it could be a lot of fun!
She's absolutely an album artist - listening to the whole thing in order its like a story Her new one is Manic (which I'm in love with) but if you gotta do just songs I'd suggest "You Should be Sad" "929" "More" and "3am" Her other one before that is Hopeless Fountain Kingdom which is a Romeo and Juliet type story she created and you've listened to a ton of songs from it!
PLEASE do trying to stan ATL/All Time Low! They're my favorite band of all time and the way you go in to songs makes me so happy! I love that you find all the different facets and the depth to each song you listen to!! Some of their best songs imo are Some Kind of Disaster, Basement Noise, Last Young Renegade, Life of the Party, Missing You, The Reckless and The Brave, and obviously Dear Maria
When it comes to Colors, the video doesn't represent the actual meaning of the song. So in reality this song is about watching her partner/someone she cares deeply for falling more and more into drugs. He was colourful when they met but as he got more depressed and his drug use got heavy you could literally see the life draining from him. So, from being Red, and having blue hands, pills and jeans, he became a man so empty that he had greying hair, the smoke surrounding him was grey and now even his dreams were grey and had to life to them anymore. She was watching a man die inside while having no way to help but simultaneously changing herself to fit him so they could be together. This is an early song and Halsey is now 25 years old, and shes said when she is 28 and will be singing this song it'll be weird because she didn't fall victim to the 27 Club and if the rumours are true about who the muse for this song is, he didn't fall victim either and is now 30 years old and finally clean.
This is kinda the reason why I wish he didn't react to both the song and the music video, because sometimes the music video is telling a separate story than the song and he gets so caught up in the video that he's more reacting to that, and not the song itself
Few other songs I really like by her albums in order are: EP room39: emlty gold, Trouble, Hurricane. Album Badlands: Castle (music video is different. Album version I like more) , Hold Me Down, Roman Holiday, Haunting, Strange Love. Album: Hopless Fountain Kingdom: Eyes Closed, Angel On Fire, Devil In Me, 100 letters, Now Or Never, Sorry. Album Manic: all songs. These are the songs i gravitate too, but all her songs on all albums are great. You Should listen to all her music.
If you're looking for recommendations I would love if you checked NF (if rap is your thing). He has some deep stuff and I'm curious about your opinion Love you, keep doing what you doing dude
When I listened to Colors before the video came I out I interpreted it as having a partner with depression or commitment issues, like being used to make them feel better.. then the music video came out and the twist on the lyrics and in the video blew my mind! Lol
14:28 Halsey is sampling a song by Notorious B.I.G that originally sampled “Juicy Fruit.” That’s why bubblegum is mentioned when the sample’s hook is most apparent. I believe the other lyrics there reference the Biggie version as well
Halsy has a unique voice and I think it makes her versatile. On her new album she does various different styles, from country, to rock, to something like spoken word. For an artist to stan I'd like you to try to stan Taylor Swift Hatsune Miku (Vocaloid) or Paramore.
You should do Trying To Stan either Skitz Kraven or NF. If you do NF I definitely recommend his song "How Could You Leave Us". It's so incredibly good and emotional.
I’ve been seriously binging this series of yours and I love it! You should react to some NF songs! His lyrics are very meaningful and I’d love your take on them! Mansion, Therapy Session, How Could You Leave Us, all the Intros, All I Have, If You Want Love, Outcast, Leave Me Alone. All those are great songs, all his songs are great, hope I see you react to some of them!! Either way, you’re great and imma keep loving this series!!
If you do a part 3, you should really listen to Forever ...(is a long time) from her new album Manic. It has a moody, haunting melody, and an interesting key change in the middle that I think you would really appreciate
You should do a TTS of Autoheart!! It's a really unknown, underrated band. I notice you've been doing popular/semi-popular artists so I don't know if you'll consider this- but thank you either way. Love this channel
Great video as always !!! Also uh, could ya please do a 'trying to stan The Crane Wives' or 'trying to stan Mother Mother' they're just both really neat bands and I like them and !!!!
Kinda late but I feel like you would like Little Mix. They talk about female empowerment, they support the LGBTQ+ community, they won X factor in 2011, and have stayed together since. Recent album won a Brit wit one of their songs. They collared with a lot of people like Stormzy, Nicki Manaj, Charlie Puth, etc.
ツWakatoo it’s about her relationship with matty Healy
So, Halsey has bipolar disorder, and my ex-girlfriend also has bipolar disorder too. While I do not, I do have borderline personality disorder. From what my ex and I talked about (she and I are both huge Halsey fans) we felt like the song “Ghost” had a lot of elements relating to using sex as a form of self-harm. Obviously fetishes and sex in general are great, but when you’re using it as a form of validation because you’ve lost your sense of self, that can further harm a person’s mental health. I love Bill’s interpretation and just wanted to add some more context to it.
It was written when she was dating a heroin addict who felt like a "Ghost"
i have borderline and for me personally that is very accurate. sadly a lot of people don't understand that so many things can be a form of self harm.
I would absolutely DIE if you did "Hold Me Down", "Control", and "Gasoline". Some of my favorites from her!
P.S. Love watching your videos! You go so much more in depth than most people.
Haley Wagner omg same!! those are some of my favorite songs of hers!
YYYYYYYES Gasoline... the unofficial Mr. Robot song.
Control and Castle are definitely some of my favs of hers!!! His reactions to them would be so good
Control is my number one fave of her songs - I've been really into Clementine as well lately.
Definitely Control!

"why's sad and sexy, that's my thing!" MOOD
Halsey's an album artist, you should react to her whole projects. Or react to 'Ashley', 'Is there somewhere' and '929'
Uhhh Ashley never gets the credit it deserves, when she sings "when I burst into flames" I die every time
@@supshann0n there's so much passion and pain in both choruses. she always makes amazing intros to her albums
Is there somewhere will always be my fav
‘is there somewhere’ is her most underrated song
So for the song "Colors" she discussed it in an interview that the whole song is about being in love with someone and when you change to become more like them "becoming a liliac sky", they lose interest in who you've become. But I love when you said "Ma Halsey", you're fantastic.
“I ordered one revolution and I got it right on time. Thanks postmates”
DEAD 😂😂😭😭
You should listen to each of her albums in order. At least listen to “You Should Be Sad” “Young God” “Gasoline” “929” and “3am”
PLEASEEEEEE DO A STAN FOR HOZIER.... the king of the woods
I would absolutely love if you did control, castle, and gasoline next! Her badlands album is just great overall lol

Fun fact: The girl in ghost mv and graveyard mv are different people, but represents 1 same exact character
Another fun fact: the girl i mentioned is actually not an actual person, but her 'imaginary friend' whose been her bestfriend during her dark times

:')
Trying to stan Demi Lovato
Song choices:
• Anyone (Grammys live)
• Skyscraper
• Cool for the Summer
• Father
• Stone Cold
• For the Love of a Daughter
• I Love Me
• Lonely
• For You
• Lionheart
5 songs per part, could possibly get more parts out of her content.
Yessssss
I loved this video, I think you’d love the band PVRIS and they just dropped a new song called dead weight recently which is sick
I second that!!!
“Why was it SAD and sexy? That’s my thing!” 😂 you’re the best. #thingsbillsays
Maybe try checking out Mystery Skulls? Its a bit more of a party vibe, but there's also an animated music video series in the works based on songs from his 'Forever' album. I'd definitely like to hear your thoughts on the music!
trying to Stan The 1975. please :)
I see that Hamilton reference👀 it'd be awesome if you reviewed Castle, Hold Me Down, Control, and gasoline!
If you want a suggestion, know that I would love to see you react to Harry Style's new album:)
hell yeah!! so glad you listened to more of Halsey, i just saw her live in the end of February & she was incredibleeeee
(plus im seeing Halsey tomorrow. the timing of this is excellent aaaaa thank you)
TELL HER I SAID HI!!!!! :')
You should do a tts for Bea Miller!
I saw Halsey live last month and she is absolutely amazing!! I’d recommend listening to the whole Badlands album in full! The whole thing is so great!
Gasoline was the song that hit me the most from her
17:52 omg you should react to Lykke Li she has a song called So sad so sexy
And neon
I desperately need a pt. 3 of this PLEASE there are so many good songs you're missing
Holy crap, hope you do a video on her first ep and her three albums now. I value this content so much and how deep you dove into the lyrics.
I found your channel through your Stan Billie Eilish video, she's my fav artist and I'm seeing her in concert in 2 DAYS! I'm so hyped!!!
Colors is about a bad relationship that she had
You should listen to Melanie Martinez! "Mrs. Potato Head", "Dollhouse", "Tag You're It" and her entire K-12 album!
just do badlands as a whole. it’s literally one of my favorite albums of all time
I literally was about to read some wattpad then saw this notification, and i was like welp..... change of plans 😂
Thats actually such a good idea! I hope he sees this
I think you should definitely react to Eden and/or Melanie Martinez sometimes? Loved the video:((
Yeah, melanie Martinez would be great
Pls do a part 3 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤 control is a great song , 11minutes or castle ❤❤❤❤
She's absolutely an album artist - listening to the whole thing in order its like a story
Her new one is Manic (which I'm in love with) but if you gotta do just songs I'd suggest "You Should be Sad" "929" "More" and "3am"
Her other one before that is Hopeless Fountain Kingdom which is a Romeo and Juliet type story she created and you've listened to a ton of songs from it!
@@llc358 Yeah I get that.
Loved your reaction! If you do another video you should definitely react to Young God, Hold Me Down and Gasoline!
loved that you went ALL the way back to og halsey
Few other songs I really like by her albums in order are:
EP room39: emlty gold, Trouble, Hurricane.
Album Badlands: Castle (music video is different. Album version I like more) , Hold Me Down, Roman Holiday, Haunting, Strange Love.
Album: Hopless Fountain Kingdom:
Eyes Closed, Angel On Fire, Devil In Me, 100 letters, Now Or Never, Sorry.
Album Manic: all songs.
These are the songs i gravitate too, but all her songs on all albums are great. You Should listen to all her music.
Yes another Halsey video!! Should listen to more songs off her newest album Manic! And Is There Somewhere from her EP!
If you're looking for recommendations I would love if you checked NF (if rap is your thing). He has some deep stuff and I'm curious about your opinion
Love you, keep doing what you doing dude
NF is literally my favorite🖤🔥
When I listened to Colors before the video came I out I interpreted it as having a partner with depression or commitment issues, like being used to make them feel better.. then the music video came out and the twist on the lyrics and in the video blew my mind! Lol
14:28
Halsey is sampling a song by Notorious B.I.G that originally sampled “Juicy Fruit.” That’s why bubblegum is mentioned when the sample’s hook is most apparent. I believe the other lyrics there reference the Biggie version as well
you should react to EDEN plsplsplspls (react to the songs: gravity, drugs, wake up, sex, circles, drowning)
YES and also crash!
Halsy has a unique voice and I think it makes her versatile. On her new album she does various different styles, from country, to rock, to something like spoken word. For an artist to stan I'd like you to try to stan Taylor Swift Hatsune Miku (Vocaloid) or Paramore.
"Put on a sweatah! I'm old."
From one 70 year old to another, I wholeheartedly agree lol 👵🏼
Yesss😍as I said on my comment on the other Halsey. I see her on thursday!
I could listen to you explain and interpret songs and videos all day long ❤️
:')
