I was super into Lana Born To Die - Ultraviolence, and whilst I adored the subtle and melancholic beauty of Honeymoon, it didn't inspire the same kind of devotion, which is completely fine. The album was such a muted vibe that experiencing it was more personal than her previews projects (though a lot of fans simply called it 'boring' and 'sleep-inducing'). It'd be interesting to hear what you think of this project. Also, Lana Del Rey is very much a character, or a lens, that she writes through. She stated that her work is autobiographical, but I think (in her earlier works for sure) she recontextualised her experiences against these characters (very Americana, though she stated she was no longer going to use that sort of imagery after Trump got elected). More recently, she seems to write in a more direct/less metaphorical way, which I think comes with comfort and time spent in the industry, and no longer feeling she had to speak through this character or simply having said everything she wanted to in that way. (Also, I've said this before, but you should so try to stan Allie X, esp her live performances ('Science' digital concert prime example, or 'Downtown' unplugged) - she's musical theatre trained so her voice is incredible, and actually competed on the Canadian version of the show to cast Maria for Sound of Music years before she became Allie X). Completely randomly - it'd be interesting to hear what you think of Eurovision, like reacting to a compilation of all this years performances.

Or maybe react to a bunch of songs from each of her albums and let us choose which one to listen to. Those are her most popular songs and I think they’re a bit overrated, so you could dive a bit deeper
That's definitely the vibe I've gotten in the comments so far haha Any suggestions? I do songs by popular vote, and part 1 usually I have to look up hits too. haha

Give "Ride" another chance without worrying about the things like the headdress and all that. It's about freedom and doing what you want, being risky and impulsive sometimes can be freeing. That's the main message, BE YOURSELF. If you can, give it another chance because it's amazing and that video is actually how I fell in love with her. I am actually surprised and disappointed that you didn't like it. Look past those details that don't fit as much to the time we are in now, and look at the main message, that sometimes doing what the fuck you want when you want it is a good thing. I mean did you watch the WHOLE thing from start to finish or did you skip? Did you listen to what she was actually saying or did you only see the headdress? lol
and Born to Die is said to not only be about a toxic relationship but also her battle with alcoholism - hope this makes sense, for me it gave a whole new meaning to the lyrics
ik this video is old but ultraviolence is lanas best album hands down, I think its the most thought-through album and the aesthetic and style is worked into every track and it really works. cruel world is honestly her best song, especially when it hits the final chorus its gets me. also the title track is beautiful, and sad girl, pretty when you cry etc. the vibe is very much "candy + heroin, bible + gun" and also a bit 60s psychedelic vibe woven in there. its her darkest, moodiest album for sure and I think it really suits her. also Salvatore and freak from honeymoon are great.
Amazing video.. and there's a lot to explore from lana! West coast , love, videogames, heart shaped box (live), Young and beautiful, shades of cool and Ultraviolence (this one will totally mess u up )
Young and Beautiful is so emotional... it's the song that first got me into Lana. There's just something so sincere about it, imo and I hope that if you do a part 2 you include it
For one whole vid, watch Tropico. It’s a short film abt a half an hour long made by her. The whole video is beautiful and meaningful and it includes three of her songs.
“On your zune” 🤣💀 I’ve seen your videos a couple of times, and just subbed in the hopes you’ll do more Lana.... maybe Trópico? West Coast cause that switch up makes me moist? also maybe Kali Uchis next???
I would absolutely love if this also became a multiple video series where you went through some of her discography chronologically so you can see her growth. I'm personally a sucker for the melodramatic thing she has in "Born to Die" but I think you'll appreciate her change in attitude for the "Lust for Life" album. Biggest song recommendations include "Young and Beautiful", "Music to Watch Boys to", "West Coast", "Shades of Cool", "13 Beaches" and the final three songs from "Lust for Life"
Thank you so much! I think I need to sample her growth, too haha! I really appreciate your consideration in your song suggestions! Definitely adding to the LDR list! Thank you so much!!
More Trying To Stan Lana Del Rey videos please! I believe Lana Del Rey is not the kind of artist that you can understand from first impressions, she has a whole discography that embodies the evolution of a character she created in her debut album "Born To Die", she delivers way more than just the "Ride or Die" persona.
Yo when you mentioned the 60s show vibe in Lust for Life it reminded me of a music video by The Regrettes (which is amazing) - completely unrelated but you'd probably really enjoy their music and videos too!
To add to your thoughts on blue jeans, having the words be so loving and the visuals be so dooming could also act as a reflection itself; knowing people who have been/ are still struggling i see how they listen to the voice that tells them to go back and that its all good even when they themselved can see that if it escalates they could very well end up dead one day. Because of that id say the song is still a healthy message, but as a Lana fan i don't think I've ever seen the video and i had a very different message from the song.
That's a great way to look at it! After the crocodile/alligator imagery, I totally agree. Videos definitely can change the vibe of a song, and I hope it helped your experience! Thank you so much for watching!!
Yess!!! Queen Lana Del Rey!!! I literally subscribed to you because of this video!!! She has so many more songs, music videos and live performances you should check out!!!! Definitely do a part 2!!!! Ohhh the ride MV is fantastic, a true masterpiece. I agree that the headpiece is problematic but Lana said that she wouldn't use these symbols anymore as well as the American Flag. Completely randomly - it'd be interesting to hear what you think of Eurovision, like reacting to a compilation of all this years performances.

maybe try to react to her albums? Like start with born to die and then her other albums in chronological order. I think it’s the best way to listen to her.

Omg dont let twitter see the headpiece
If you wanna see her playing around with her voice, then react to her best live vocals. She's amaaazing!
How can someone NOT enjoy the absolute masterpiece visuals on born to die????
It's one of her most beautiful videos ever
"is a velvet yesss" sounds like what she wants loooooool
but u should do more parts to this and of florence
Definitely!! TO BOTH!! Thank you so much!!!
ik this video is old but ultraviolence is lanas best album hands down, I think its the most thought-through album and the aesthetic and style is worked into every track and it really works. cruel world is honestly her best song, especially when it hits the final chorus its gets me. also the title track is beautiful, and sad girl, pretty when you cry etc. the vibe is very much "candy + heroin, bible + gun" and also a bit 60s psychedelic vibe woven in there. its her darkest, moodiest album for sure and I think it really suits her. also Salvatore and freak from honeymoon are great.
will you upload a new part of "trying to stan gaga" series? i hope you do! so excited.❤ *paws up*
Definitely! Trying to expand on more artists while I wait in a corner for LG6 news! haha! PAWSUUP!
You did a great job with the way of your words and got us like you wanted
Thank you so much!!
Try to react to Lana's "Tropico" video even though it's long af plsssssss
I love that you addressed the headdress being warn.
Amazing video.. and there's a lot to explore from lana!
West coast , love, videogames, heart shaped box (live), Young and beautiful, shades of cool and Ultraviolence (this one will totally mess u up )
Thank you so much!! Definitely adding these to my LDR list!!
Young and Beautiful is so emotional... it's the song that first got me into Lana. There's just something so sincere about it, imo and I hope that if you do a part 2 you include it
I lost it at "hot topic jared leto"
For one whole vid, watch Tropico. It’s a short film abt a half an hour long made by her. The whole video is beautiful and meaningful and it includes three of her songs.
definitely on my LDR list! Thank you so much for watching!
thethirdbill no problem! You’re real good at what you’re doing, I subbed and everything. Keep up the good work 😁
“On your zune” 🤣💀
I’ve seen your videos a couple of times, and just subbed in the hopes you’ll do more Lana.... maybe Trópico?
I definitely want to! I'm starting to get the impression I would like later Lana Del Rey (Later Del Rey!) haha! Any suggestions for songs?
@@thethirdbill Haha! I'd suggest you check out Love / Change / Young and Beautiful and West Coast, you won't be dissapointed!
Adding to the list! Thank you so much!!
Yo when you mentioned the 60s show vibe in Lust for Life it reminded me of a music video by The Regrettes (which is amazing) - completely unrelated but you'd probably really enjoy their music and videos too!
Blue velvet, Black beauty, Shades of cool and Love are some really good ones 🖤
Adding to the LDR list! Thank you so much!
She writes her own music and a lot of it is very storytelling based which I love!!!! Her aesthetic has always been vintage, very unique don’t see a lot of that. But yea so glad you giving Lana a chance, she’s definitely got a distinctive style of music so refreshing to hear!!!!!!♥️♥️♥️
Thank you so much!!! Any suggestions for a pt 2?
@@thethirdbill any song from her second album, Ultraviolence. Ultraviolence, West Coast, Shades of Cool. Or you can go a bit more recent, with Freak, a song from the same album as High By The Beach.
The one I've been waiting for!!
Thank you so much for waiting! I hope you enjoyed it! Any suggestions for a pt 2?
@@thethirdbill I'll have a think for you :)
:D!
@@thethirdbill God bless America and all the beautiful women in it, gods and monsters, love, Salvatore and young and beautiful
Lana has a unreleased song called Rehab, it’s a beautiful song I highly recommend it
Adding to the LDR list! Thank you so much!
thethirdbill Awesome! Yw!
thethirdbill oh yeah! I completely forgot, Art Deco and Brooklyn Baby are really good songs from her as well, some of my favorites
petition for an NFR reaction? i think it’s a pretty different sound from lana
Trying to stan TWENTY ONE PILOTS next!!!
Summertime sadness was about her friend who committed suicide in the summer.
Ohhh the ride MV is fantastic, a true masterpiece. I agree that the headpiece is problematic but Lana said that she wouldn't use these symbols anymore as well as the American Flag. Other than that it's not so much about sexuality but more about the journey to yourself which can be quite lonely and also mental health. If you find the time check out her unreleased slngs, Girl That Got Away, Serial Killer, Rahab etc. etc. ... you'll love them they bang so hard
Btw when you are looking for Lana doing that high high note: Cola!
That's really good to know! Thank you so much for clarifying! Cola is definitely on my LDR list!
You need to listen to some songs from her Ultraviolence album/era. West Coast, Shades of Blue, Ultraviolence & Florida Kilos are all really amazing!
Definitely adding to my LDR list! Ya'll love Ultraviolence and I wanna check it out!
@@thethirdbill please update us with what you thought of it!
React to Cherry, Heroin and Terrence Loves You by her.
There's a real good channel called "Just Some Videos" or something like that, they kinda made some videos for the songs which did not have any video and they made from these three songs. It fit's perfectly...
Omg I love ur channel!!!! U truly are AMZING
Thank you so much! That makes me so happy! Thank you for such kind words and support!
React to Lolita and Brooklyn Baby. There’s no music video for them but they’re rlly good.
You should definitely do a part 2 with ALL the recommendations from the comments and true Lana Stans!
Please try to stan Little Mix, to know them better I recommend you first acapella Queens, Little mix friendship, their rihanna's love on the brain cover and maybe Little mix 13 performances that show how professional they are and Best live vocals
*impactful moment in a song and/or the singer hits some good notes*
*BILL MOANS*
You need to do a TRYING TO STAN: Melanie Martinez
Seriously Bill you need to a part 2. Her most recent album is great and I think you'd love it.
Also Video Games. You need to listen to Video Games.
HIGH ON THE BEACH IS LANA'S BEST SONG. DON'T @ ME.
also can't wait so see more new artists and you to grow with these artists
Cruel World exists
Thank you so much! I loved High on the Beach!
Some of my favourite tracks from her you should check out:
The Blackest Day.

Money Power Glory (this one is written from irony, and that's why i love it)
Pretty When You Cry.
Adding to my LDR list! Thank you so much!!
MOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORE
Omggg the septum suits sooo well and you too cute 😍 however have fun for the next like month with the pain. I got mine a month ago and for weeks after it felt like I got punched in the face lol.
Thank you so much!! Yeah, it's still rough getting used to. I flipped it up so I will stop messing with it in my sleep haha! IT HURTS!!!
I feel like he should have listened to the songs alone because the songs are beautiful but the videos were distracting him too much and straying him from the actual music
I love how honest he is about giving a reaction. truly he's never seen these before and gives great feedback
:')
try cola and florida kilos! two of my favorites
Adding to the LDR list! Thank you so much!!
YES
IM SO EXCITED TO WATCH THIS OMG
Thank you! That really means a lot! I hope you enjoyed it!
thethirdbill I did indeed! Looking forward to more :)
Thank you so much! Any suggestions, please let me know!
TRYING TO STAN MARINA AND THE DIAMONDS
hey! thanks for doing this :)
if youre going to release a second part or third (hopefully!) then I’ll recommend you some very good live performances
1. Video Games- Hackney Weekend BBC Radio 1
2. Million Dillar Man-Hackney Weekend BBC Radio 1
3. Cola- Olympia, Paris
4. Heart Shaped Box- Spektrum, Oslo (not tecnically her song but her rendition of it is amazing)
Thats what I can say from the top of my head for now, I hope you can do a part 2! and btw listen to the song itself first before the live ✨
Omg react to her song COLA you’ll be shook
The septum looks SICK. You're making me wanna go get one...
Thank you so much!! If you're on the fence, watch the video of me getting it! That will definitely help you decide! haha!
I’ve never been more early to something in my life
Thank you so much! I hope you enjoyed the video!!
YESS IM GLAD U DID THIS
Hi again! Thank you so much! Your continuous support of the channel means so much to me!
PLEASEE READ THIS if you want more vocal fancy stuff from lana please watch her lives!!! almost all of them are better than the original, these especially: Born To Die (2018), Body Electric (any year tbfh), COLA (!!!!), Without You (Ameoba live), LIKE PLEASEEEEEE REACT TO THESE LIVES ILYSM !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's a really good idea! Thank you so much! Adding these to the LDR list for sure!!
