      @@alifajmi9699 In English, 'the', 'a', and 'an' are called articles. Many foreign languages such as Russian, Japanese, Polish, and Chinese (and I think Korean too) don't use articles, so when native speakers of those language learn English, it is often very difficult to use and understand the concept of articles. • @roberttompkins9991

    Nice breakdown of the 540! I’m a Shotokan karateka. This one isn’t in our arsenal. I always said I’ll let TKD have keep one to itself. But after this guy breaking it down for me like that, now I think I might try picking it up. Wish I weighed about a buck fifty like him though. It would make it so much easier for me. It’s not easy getting my 230 lbs off the ground like that. But I’ll give it a go!

    • @robbboto
      @robbboto 5 років тому +3

      I completely get it! Shotokan as well, but have been taking TKD for a some months now. I'm 220, but the most I can do is a tornado kick 😅

    • @丨匚卄匚几
      @丨匚卄匚几 Рік тому +1

      @@robbboto This kick looks like a reversed tornado kick to me, so you probably could do this. Also Shotokan karateka (with a few stolen kicks from Kyokushin lol) , around the same weight as you guys.
      And I agree with you, this technique can be used as a perfect faint during a kumite if you spin after a (ura) mawashi gueri.
      My point is that this should be called "ura tornado gueri" because ura means reverse and I like the word tornado.

      @@丨匚卄匚几
      This kick, 540 degree kick is a continuation of the tornado kick. Tornado kick is a second kick (roundhouse kick in karate). First half of the tornado kick is the first kick. Third kick, spin hook kick with the other leg. All kicks going in same direction in one jump.

  • @leledumbo

    Need 720p version at least, this explanation is great and somewhat easy to follow. Still, you need proper basics and trained muscle support, your brain may know what to do but if your body resists, it still can't be done.

  • @dramaticreaper
    @dramaticreaper 5 років тому +37

    This kick is meant to be used like how he showed with a triple kick combo, then confuse your opponent when they think you will throw three kicks during the spins but you only throw the first kick and the last kick. And then even more confusing as they try to block the first two kicks that won't come then get hit by the third kick. This kick should not be thrown for the sake of hoping to land it for the sake of higher marks for executing a hard technique.

    • @MiklosHajma
      @MiklosHajma Рік тому

      Yeah, it usually taught like a fake tornado + goro chagi combo. Still this tutorial is really good as it explains a lot of the basic concepts well. And it has to be a fully fluid motion all together (that's what most people don't get).

    i practice tkd 8 years and have a solid pandae dollyo chagi but when it comes to a jump i cant handle it... ive watched this video in details and i dont get it. my teacher shows me a 1000+ times, some very good students too and it doesnt work for me. i mean if u practice something like a kick 1000 times or more u will be better in this. but this maaaan... i dont know why maybe i must practice much more. for now i practice simply jumps with a spin without any kicking technique. and if that feels some kind of "solid" i will put the kick into it. rly good video. understandable without words just watching. very good. best regards from germany

      Mohammad Khan seen that. I've also encountered a shorter, rather focused on gradual learning video which I've found more helpful. But I'm still a foot away from getting the kick conducted easily. I always land just a millisecond before kicking and this way I lose the speed plus it doesn't even resemble a 540 kick.

    • @joelchong5060
      @joelchong5060 6 років тому

      Henort 101 I’d practice simply trying to spin an entire 720 degrees mid air without any kicks and land solidly, being able to spin fast enough for a 720 should get you fast enough for a 540 hook kick.

      SABAHan Girl It's okay, it took me quite a long time to be able to do it. I can do it now, but my hook kick isn't very strong, which is why I am watching this tutorial. You will get it with time. When you do this kick, focus on jumping straight up first. Swing your arms up really hard, and then pull them in and wrap tight for a quick spin. Don't be lazy with the kick, you have to commit to it and go full power.

      ASABAHan Girl , it's easy kick then you think!:), just play with it every day, I'll tell you some advice may it could help, it's not really like 360 hook ×2 at all, you have to jump in 360 hook x2, but what exactly make you kick in the correct way? it's a second leg, turn it back! and hook 360, another word jump on 540 but not necessary like that
      how to solution of fail! is to jump straight up ,
      you can practice by kick low then increase your high of the kicking :)

      Henort 101 the kick strength comes from doing it over and over and letting your body get used to timing. Focus on whipping the kick around more. Also I’d recommend trying 720 roundhouse before 900 hook but that’s your choice!
